What an absolute s#%+ show. Kurt Russell’s been relegated to the background and even he and his son can’t save this show. It’s sad to see that the producers sacrifice what the audience wants in actual MONSTERS for the sake of identity politics, DEI and wokeness.

"sake of identity politics, DEI and wokeness."!! THIS! I'm all for smarter stronger female characters...but the issue I have is being told this in the dialogue and male bashing. It's not needed. Everyone accepts there are females that are better in many ways than a male. no issue there. Just not frikkin preach it at every single change you get. Such a shit show

This a good show for casuals who have no idea of the lore and inconsistencies of the world building Legendary has been trying and failing to do.

@@masteronionnorth2341 I do think there's the opportunity to tell a more concise story, but since I haven't seen the final 2 eps, I'm not sure where this is completely headed and if they are aiming towards another season.

So far not very good and characters have very little depth and their stories are very incoherent and one dimensional. For example, the three mains have these back stories which could interesting if they weren't so one dimensional as characters. I didn't see the point in them. Maybe they will have importance later but i'm not vested in them so I don't really care. The only one that is interesting is Kurt Russell's character, not because he has depth, but he us has a bit more intrigue than the others. I was thinking of dropping apple+, this doesn't really keep me onboard.

Mei is thoroughly unlikable. She is throwing a tantrum every 15 minutes about something or another. I find myself hoping something truly unfortunate happens to her during every episode.

@@user-tn5vm9fr9f I think the show is okay. I came in with much higher expectations, especially after Godzilla Minus One. However, this is standard Hollywood fair. B!tchy female lead, weak Asian male, absolutely insanely aggressive and angry black female that is a STEM wizard, old actor being rolled out for name recognition. I find myself actually liking the show when it focuses on the history of Monarch and the older characters, but hating it whenever I see the brats.

This is what I was hoping for, and it's delivering. Ever since Skull Island John Goodman and his position in Monarch intrigued me, following his younger self at the beginnings of Monarch is awesome. Looking forward to seeing where it leads.

I was engrossed in episodes 1 and 2. Very good storytelling and I thought the acting performances were very good. I thought some of the human only action sequences were a little clumsy. Anyway... I'm definitely wishing I had every episode right now. Chris, you have to wait until Jan. 5 for episode 9? :)

About the Time Anomaly in Monarch, isn't it proofed wrong in Godzilla x Kong and The new empire? Those movies both included traveling to Hollow Earth without skipping years or decades? Also, the way the portal itself works in Monarch and the movies seems different? In Monarch, it looked like Bifrost from Thor, especially in the final episode of 1st season when G came down, while they were escaping. It Looked like pillar of light, and lead straight to the ground. Movie version on the other hand, looks like gates/wormholes, and the exit is always in the air and they have to fall. But the biggest difference is still the absence of time anomaly in Movies. Can someone please explain?

I'll be surprised if this show makes it to a season 2. The only positive is the CGI of the Monsters so far. The acting is B movie at best. Want to see good acting and story telling.... Watch Godzilla Minus One.

Not trolling. I just didn't like it. Felt like the situations are acted upon in a very un-natural way. Not the actors fault but those who wrote the movie. Does that mean no one will like it? of coarse not. However anyone that's seen the movie Minus One, will no doubt understand my frame of mind. @@maxwelld23

These are the kinds of Godzilla & King Kong movies I hate and can't stand to watch. Nobody cares about the people in these movies. Why don't they just accept that. We want to see the monsters. Their names are in the title of the movies and yet they introduce monsters like they're making a cameo in a movie about humans. Very few (maybe a handful of) movies get this right and those are the movies people remember. Does anyone even remember any of the human's name or who they are in these movies? No. It's that freakin simple. Because no one cares about the humans. They're paying movie ticket prices to see the guy who's name is on the movie poster. I heard Godzilla Minus One is very promising and will not disappoint as the monsters being the main focus through out this movie. Let's hope so.

I guess by now you know that Godzilla Minus One is more about the people, and is actually probably the best Godzilla film of the lot. Audiences care about the people when the people are interesting, and it’s about time somebody figured that out, because movies that are one action set piece after another has just gotten boring.

They don't mean anything other than being movie/series quotes. Sometimes they may have a slight thematic tie to what I'm reviewing, but not always.

I have seen the first 7 episodes and lets be honest here, the show sucks. Writing is so bad and its so hard to not hate the characters. Many of the scenes don’t make any sense and I don’t mind pro lgbt and women empowerment but its too much at this rate

Shill much? I watched 1 and half episodes and found unbelievably tedious. Same losing formulae: unlikable, whiny female lead who-is-the-key-to-everything, who forms a youth posse that of course has the best-est computer hacker who of course is is also unlikable, and is of course black and female. And no trio of friends would be complete without the masculine free, sexless, non threatening tag along male. Her father - too expensive an actor to be onscreen much - is a major male figure from the movies so of course has to be degraded and broken down to have been in truth a cheating asshole with two families - why? Well because it artificially elevates the lead, and - according to the writers - gives her more character, and something to whinge about - endlessly. They think we asked for that. The trained and experienced and highly educated adults cannot get it done, certainly not the men, so what we need is a gaggle of diverse young adults so young they have no life experience and few social skills; two strong diverse females and 1/2 a diverse male. No character development arcs needed; jarring cutbacks to the past will interrupt the tedium, and substitute as story telling. Sprinkle liberally with "Member Berries and there you go. It has never been done before! Chef's kiss!

This is one of the most disappointing shows as of recent. Boring, with lackluster characters that are not likeable at all. Each episode is 45 minutes of talking, talking, talking, and more talking.....that sometimes ends with a minute or two of monsters showing up just to remind us we're watching a kaiju show.
