Send some of this positivity Zels' way. Good chat. So much to work on for the Boks but so much to be stoked about. Would love to have Scott Gibbs perspective on end of year games.
I encourage people watch the game again and see what the springbok team actually done with defense and put on pressure to force them to make mistakes was humongous
I have, we fckd up sloppily so much it confused the ABs and the ref. Besides Marx and psdt and no 8 our guys just fell over as soon as they got touched. The scrum half is way off and lost the plot. When the ref says use it, U fcking use it. Willie and bongi were like paraplegics and should be in Paris.
Absolutely 100% correct guys. Enjoy these moments to its fullest. People tend to have short memories and forget the bad days of when the boks were not great.. The nature of test rugby is hard particularly against nz therefore people moaning is shortsighted. Lastly, really enjoy the show and the breakdown of content. Here's hoping for many years to come.
world rugby has always believed that Rugby needs the wallabies and the all blacks... The cancelation of South Africa's inclusion in super rugby proves once and for all that Rugbys most important cog is the Springboks.
@@user-qe1tv1bu2fhe knows the Emirates pilots are pussies... they couldn't even fly over the centre of the stadium either. SA pilots are just better... sorry
What a gent - Scotty, as my mom is half Welsh, I have an affinity for you and Kevin....but I am fully South African and have really enjoyed your shows and input.
Great show gents - as always. Thanks for the thoughtful discussion. Scott, the Boks won 4 in a row in 1949. It has been done before. Never been done in the professional era though so if that’s what meant, no problem.
Such short memories writing off Australia. They just beat that same team last week. They were leading 20-3 and then fell asleep. Let’s see how they go against the ABs in 2 weeks.
So true, we can't expect 100% from each player every week they will have off days - key perspective "do you give 100% and not make mistakes at work". They've got the results 4 wins in row won the RC and we still complain it's not justified.
Maybe maybe not. If they allow overseas players to be chosen for the AB's they should be very competitive again. Maybe even dominant like olden days. Now there is a scary thought from a Saffa perspective!!!
@@JJfromJ No, we beat the team with those overseas players twice already. Yes, the overseas players will improve their current situation a lot. But the Boks are incredibly tough right now.
@@MosesMatsepane I agree that we can beat the "full" AB team, but they still have this disadvantage of not being able to pick some of their most battle hardened and experienced players. Exactly those players in the Bokke 23 that make us almost unbeatable at present. From a Saffa / Bokke fan.
Few people realise what the Springboks over the last years has done for support among the smaller communities It is huge After a test have a chat to the fuel attendantor the help in the supermarket The eyes just light up Soccer is having problems getting bums on seats and supporter for Bafana The soccer community just laughs at the Bafana teams
As a South African fan it is crazy that this lead presenter bloke do not even mention Ireland in the conversation....Boks and Ireland are by quite a margin the two best sides in the world imo with maybe France in third....the Boks i feel played pretty poor in both tests and should have put a fairly poor All Black side compare to teams from yesteryear more to the sword...feared we possibly would have lost atleast one or maybe both tests if it was against Ireland...Scott Gibbs respect 👊🏻
With all the rotation and experimentation going on in the Bok squad, giving young players valuable experience on this level and still winning consistently - give the whole squad and the coaches a Bells!!! 🎉
@spervuurproduksies he is correct in my opinion. Springboks did not play well on Saturday even although they won. Far too many mistakes. So Zels does have valid points.
All Blacks must get used to 70% win rates like the rest of us. Times have changed and I only see the Boks getting stronger with them earning good money abroad and still been able to play for their National team.
The coaching conundrums that are befalling the ABs and Aussies is really interesting. My feeling is that both nations have to look at their structures as a whole. With hindsight, this is what Rassie did even before he took the job, did he not start as the director of Rugby? What Rassie has done is he looked at SA strategically and developed from there, yes was he fortunate to get the win in NZ in 2018 which gave him the leeway to progress 8 years down the line. Yes. Was he fortunate to have inherited the legacy SA rugby industrial complex that was built 80+ years previously, yes. But the point i am trying to make is Razor and Scmidt need to be look at this more strategically then game by game if they want to move the game forward in each country, and the respective unions will need to give them that leeway, i think scmidt has that ability from experience in Ireland. I dont think razor has the time and potentially the experience
Keo and Zels and commenting on the observable strategies of the game which is also the view of Schalk and Jean on the Verdict YT channel with Shimmy. This show is less criticism, less analytical of the actual performance and more a general overview with maybe a little betting involved. There's a show for everyone.
@@groenrizla2513 "Obserbable strategies" being criticizing Rassie's strategy after successfully seeing off the AB's? Yeah, right. Just arrogance and negativity. Sorry, I am NOT a fanboy.
@@spervuurproduksies Then you will definitely not be a fan of Schalk Burger and Jean de Villiers, they heavy critics of where the Boks need to improve and go through some of the key areas.
@@groenrizla2513 You know, I watch both. Somehow, it sits better when Bok greats are discussing it. And I have NEVER heard any arrogance from Jean and Schalk.
@@groenrizla2513 Just watched the latest of "The Verdict". Neither jean, Schalk or Shimmie criticized Rassie or Tony's strategy for the Boks. Neither did they belittle the AB's. Not once. I fail to understand how you are unable to see a difference between this, and Keo & Zels podcasts. There is absolutely no comparison.
The general consensus I've heard between most Aussie club players is that when the Lions come, we want to go watch to see Lions play the Force, Waratahs etc but do we really want to watch Bambi get shot. Nobody wants to see that
Rassie doesn't select the best team for the Saturday, he selects the best team for the 2027 Squad. This World Cup Cycle will be the first that Rassie has the full four years to get the shop in order. I doubt very much we will have a stuttering attack in 2026, or too many debutants ... and our transition from defense to attack will be flawless, coherent and 'blitzkrieg!' We may even see Neil Powell in the coaching staff... the master of systems.
Great listening to you 2 blokes. Good chemistry creates a good show. PS Pollard was the better choice at 10. When Sascha came on, he made many errors and isolated himself. In fact, the only time we looked like losing was when Sascha came on and tried too much!
Wow that proves how poor yhe boks bn in btwn thn😂😂the ab's hav beaten ghm.9 times in a row consecutively and put 50 points on the boks 4 times😂which the boks neva hav once.😂
I feel for Razor, he's an absolutely brilliant coach but he hasn't had the luxury of sitting in the coaching box in international rugby for four years like all of his predecessors. He's been p in a position of trying to fix NZR's piss poor planning but he will make a plan even though NZR's insistence of doggedly refusing to allow many of their best players to play for the ABs due to looking after their families is clearly backfiring on them
What we seeing with the Wallabies is the effect of years and decades of match fixing. Instead of fixing the problem, Aus got pumped up with bias and poor officiating keeping them in the game and making them look good when they were actually poor and simply cheating. They are now so bad, even biased officials cannot save them. WR should have played honest from the outset, we would’ve seen the Aussies struggle but they’d have been in time to rescue the situation, now it’s too late.
It's a nonsense to dismiss IRELAND and FRANCE. Nobody has dealt with them in the last 4 years in any convincing way. Glad the Money Man pulled himself in the end there.
Rassie had has this team since 2018. Razor started in 2024. Next year in NZ will be interesting (two games in NZ). We will take the Bokke down when these players retire: Bongi, Marx, RG Synman, Eben, Kolisi, PDST, DDA, Kriel, Kolbe, and man I wish Malherbe would retire (joking, he is an awesome player).
True. The difference in teams in the top four is such that any one can beat the other three on matchday. Also the Boks are near the top of their cycle. AB's are just turning it around and will bounce back (maybe even next year in NZ). Enjoy the position the Boks are at currently. It won't last beyond the next World Cup when the "madalas" retire.
Mind you, if Rassie stays involved after the next World Cup, who knows what his crazy mind could conjure up. Maybe he will have built another "super team" out of his, at the moment, confusing rotation of older campaigners with young bloods. That policy, confusing most Saffas at the moment, may be Rassie's master tactic for Bok rugby for the next cycle after 2027. Only time will tell.
Mind you, Rassie has said that he is looking at more than his current squad of 30+ players. He mentioned that he is looking at as many as 50 players for future inclusion. Crazy stuff. The Aussies do not have 50 players in their whole system that could play international rugby.
It’s between Ireland and Springboks. Ireland will wash this All Blacks squad. And they will definitely wash us too if we play the way we did this past Saturday. I can’t believe that you guys dismissed Ireland. I respect the All Blacks, but Ireland is more clinical at the moment.
Zels is just too negative. Boks are evolving and winning. I like this show because it celebrates greatness and doesn’t complain about not putting a record score on the ABs
To put it simply in australia 90% of the country don't give a shit if they lose 50-0 a game ! League and afl is all they care about! Union in aus is as popular or less than hockey in south africa!
....and failing Australia gets the next RWC2027 after France Stole with a Bung the 2023 run for RSA. So the 4x winner has hosted once in 33 years by the time of 2027
Maybe, maybe not. Zels is a purist and wants to have traditional Bok rugby to be coached / played. Rassie is too "progressive" in his approach for Zel:'s liking. And there is place for that too in the world of rugby.
I'm tired of this HIPPIE nonsense from the GEN-X hey. - You must be bozonkers out of your mind if you think we played a phenomenal game. Boks made soooooooooooo many basic errors in both games it's shocking. SUPER GLAD we won, but if the Boks were 100% focused in both games, we would've won the All Blacks by 20-30 points easy. But 60minutes in both games we were unfocussed. Lineouts were horrendous to say the least. Stop with this hippie nonsense and lets call a spade a spade. EVERYONE is glad we've won, but EVERYONE knows it was sloppy AF.
