After a long wait at the border we finally made it to Mongolia! We were greeted by mile upon mile of smooth, freshly tarmaced road with next to no-one to share it with.
A blissful day of smooth driving later we found a lovley camp spot next to a lake...where unfortunatley we just got a little (a lot) stuck in sand! We dug and we dug and we pushed and we shoved, but in the end (and in the dark) Euan and Chuck ran a mile back down the road to find a lakeside party house and a helpful stranger with a 4x4 to tow us out of our predicament.
The next day brought us more gorgeously smooth roads (and a little bit of dirt track) which we sped down, occasionally stopping for food and photo breaks.
In the evening we stumbled upon a herd of camels and paused to enjoy a glorious sunset. Mongolia was proving to be the stunning place we had been driving for so long to see.
