We found the tarmac again after a stay in a rather closed up town. The team made good speed towards Ulaanbaatar as the rain came down but we still made the most of our time in Mongolia and the outer edges of the Gobi Desert. The turn North towards Ulaanbaatar gave us even nicer roads but the sunlight was running out, we made it to the city in the middle of the night, found somewhere that would let us check in for the night and found the only foodplace that was open... Burger King...
The following day we explored the city, finding some awesome sights along with exploring the National Museum to find out a little more about the country we had been trying to get to for the last 2 months. The evening was spent having a few celebratory drinks before heading off to see the giant Ghengis Khan statue a few hours outside of the city. We only had one more goal in sight, the finish line in Ulan Ude, Russia.
