Mongol Rally Part 18 - The End

For one last time on our Mongol Rally adventure... having seen the giant Ghengis Khan statue we turned back around and sat in standstill traffic through Ulaanbaatar, fought for a parking space to get a take away meal to fuel us that last few hundred kilometers and sat down before our last leg, possibly a non stop drive to the finish.
This idea soon slipped out of our grasp as the "roads" weren't quite in the finished condition that we had become accustomed to for th emost part in Mongolia. A hard slog through the night began, meeting up with some new friends in the middle of the night at a fuel station that we had been leapfrogging all the way through Mongolia. We teamed up for the last leg but although they broke down a few times we were of little help as they had far more mechanical knowledge than us... shock...
As the sun rose on our final rally morning we approached the Russian border, got fasttracked past all the locals and sent on our way. Having battled through the night we grabbed a few hours hammock sleep in a woods just off the main road. Once again we got dug in to the sand but with our new team able to help us out we were soon on our way again and heading towards the finish line.
We pulled into Ulan Ude as a trio of cars and one by one made our way into the town square and the finish podium of the Mongol Rally 2019. 10,309 miles from Junktown, Prague to Ulan Ude in Eastern Russia. Hardly the shortest route, but through all the ups and downs we did have one hell of an adventure.
