I've noticed that the best makeup artists have a very delicate touch, that they hold the brushes towards the end of the handles and their hands hardly seem to touch the face. Even though there may be a ton of products used, the end result is usually glow-y and not overdone. Well done, Patrick!

Yes. Holding the brush farther away from the bristles gives a lighter application. This would help I imagine in not over applying products.

It's so refreshing to watch real working makeup artists create looks on models. While there are plenty of talented beauty enthusiasts on youtube, it just can't compare to actual working artists who do this on a much more professional level!

Natalie Sutton yes you got the right words!! I stop watching other RU-vid's makeup "artists" or enthusiastic because at some point I though there was nothing to learn from them except to look like a clown or with all the respect like a travesty. I went back to watch Monika, Patrick, Jordan Liberty, my favorite Lisa Ealdridge, Mary Greenwell, Pat McGraw this people are real artist masters of beautiful creations of make up.

Agree. although I suppose we should also give the enthusiast a chance so they can learn and grow into an actual 'real makeup artist'. Like freakmofx for example, she started as a self taught fx artist but she really try to work her up way through it, got better and better, got skilled enough that she actually worked in a movie set (the new king kong movie). She's no where yet compared to Rick Baker or C. Nelson but she's somewhere beyond her youtube filming set now. It's just beautiful to see an artist grow like that :)
