quagmire is a bachelor who works as a commercial airline pilot. he lives on spooner street where he is a neighbor and best friend of peter griffin, cleveland brown, and joe swanson. he has had two spouses: joan, a maid for the griffins who died;[5] and charmise, an adult worker whom he divorced.[6] the former episode, "i take thee quagmire", was acknowledged by macfarlane as the first to have a plot revolving around quagmire.[7]
during his time in korea in service in busan, he had a brief career as a soap opera star by the name of "american johnny" and was lovers with his co-star, sujin.[8] they would reconnect ties during his brief travel there with peter, joe, and cleveland.[8] quagmire briefly dated cheryl tiegs in the early 1980s,[9][10] but she dumped him because of his constant jealousy[10] and his addiction.[9] cheryl, whom quagmire considers his long-lost one true love,[9] would again appear twice in quagmire's life, both times due to brian griffin's meddling: the first one, when brian invited him to dinner under the pretense he was going to dinner with her;[9] the second one, when brian dated her just to torment him (quagmire retaliates by dating brian's ex-girlfriend jillian).[10] quagmire despises brian,[9] and they have a feud that spans several episodes.
monika is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the visual novel doki doki literature club! the character was created by dan salvato and voiced by jillian ashcraft. while monika initially appears as the main tutor and supporting character that guides the player on their path to romance the three provided love interests, she is later revealed to be self-aware of her existence as a video game character; her words, actions and surroundings become increasingly malicious as she makes her intentions clear. she is apparently deleted at the end of the game, but returns to destroy the game itself to protect the player after the character sayori becomes sentient in monika's absence.
the inspiration for the character's creation extends salvato's concept of an innocuous romance game that slowly falls apart over time as horrible things begin to happen and one girl takes control. the physical appearance of monika went through several designs, one of which featured a chibi effect. monika has been well received by critics and gamers, some of whom called her disarming, passive-aggressive, tragic, sinister and witty. she is considered one of the greatest video game characters, particularly among those created in the 2010s.
