I love how One Piece is able to maintain Luffy’s value system (loyalty, kindness, love, strength, joy, etc.) without coming off as cheesy at all. It all seems genuine and Luffy remains one of the most stoic characters I’ve ever seen in fiction. The characters in One Piece are ground-breaking. It is as original as modern entertain gets!

The nika nika fruit set luffy on yo becoming the king of the pirates. Notice before eating the fruit he was asking shanks to join his crew. Only after eating the fruit his ambition changed to gather a crew better than shanks and becoming king of the the pirates.

Yeah I could see that being a side-effect of the fruit. Luffy has always been a simpleton but after eating the fruit his goals are unwavering. It's been stated multiple times each arc that Luffy has a way of attracting people to his side, this mostly being seen during Dressrosa with the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. He's also liberated several countries which puts him inline with Nika's liberation.

It's the gum gum fruit and you're mistaken. Since shanks didn't want him on board, he wanted to be better It has nothing to do with the fruit

@@Gintoki_Madao I don’t know bro but. Right before he ate the fruit he was begging to be on shanks crew and take him out to sea. Only after he ate it and was saved by shanks he decided he would start his own group even stronger than the red haired pirates.
