"Sit like a lady" ... tell that to a woman who plays the cello. Traditionally both men and women in the East sit cross-legged for much of the time and do not consider it impolite to show a clothed crotch. Try to understand that not everyone has the same culture.

It looks as though she is making trays for the display of the produce from their market garden... on a market stall, or roadside table. It's good that they still use traditional materials and haven't opted for plastic. That's just a guess though, but I don't think that she reads or writes in English.

@@jennypratt5345 thank you. I think it is good that they are using traditional materials as well. The reason I asked was because I’ve seen her, or someone from the channel, reply to comments in the past so I figured she may or may not respond. It has been a while since I’ve seen it though. Maybe they stopped because of all the negativity that started. I doubt I will ever travel to that part of the country and it’s interesting to me to see things from other cultures.

@@elexis3728 A friend of mine lived in Vietnam for several years (her husband worked for an international company) and she said that it was fascinating; but very, very different from how we live here in the West. In rural areas many of the traditional materials are readily available for the work of collecting them, so it makes sense to utilise them given they financial situation of many. They continue to develop, but they are still largely very poor (average annual income is less than $3,000) and they are still just short of clean water for everyone (now at about 99%) but availability doesn't mean hot and cold running. It is perfectly reasonable to disagree with the keeping of monkeys as pets (I'm not enthusiastic about it myself) but this monkey is clean, fed, well cared for, and not forced to walk on his hind legs - unlike many of those which are lauded here!

@@jennypratt5345 it’s hard to really comprehend just how far some countries still haven’t come with basic necessities, isn’t it. Then again, right here in the USA we have states that are in crisis but it isn’t talked about like it should be. I couldn’t agree with you more about David. Of course they should all be with their own kind in the wild but for whatever the reason many are not. I have come across so many channels on here where abuse and neglect is clearly going on so I don’t watch them. The signs I see on those channels I just don’t see with David. Obviously everything isn’t perfect but I don’t expect it to be and some of the comments are just unnecessary. I will never understand how the people leaving those types of comments keep coming back to watch every single day if they feel so strongly about what is being done to David. I personally wouldn’t want to help anyone prosper if I feel like they are abusing someone or something and that’s exactly what they are doing.

It’s just something he has done on his own since he was very little. He would have been too young to learn it from someone else. It’s just one of his quirks

Sensible parents teach their children to wait until served and not to snatch at food. Sensible pet owners do the same. Your comment is abuse of anyone with a modicum of sense - and reveals your entire lack of the same. As has already been said, David folds his arms without instruction, it is his own mannerism.

Manners and respect can be easily learned when taught in a loving and respectful way to any individual when done so at the appropriate age. It would make it easier to learn what is and isn’t acceptable or expected from the individual. Human or animal.

I suppose that you think the rattan work she is doing is for her own amusement. It's a market garden rather than a farm, and yes, she does share the work in many different ways.

The "brown chair" is a lovely piece of old wood... but you would prefer gaudy plastic, how sad.
