If you played monkey Island you knew what kind of game it was and the Sea of thieves devs told us they wanted to stay true to monkey island and it's gameplay which is exactly what we got😅
@@ToxieSinclaireSOT now we're left to wonder. Can we defeat flame heart with some root beer? Your supplies must be dwindling. No, I got a fresh bottle of root beer right here 🤣
They should put some more life into taverns like they did in this tale because its such a great atmosphere. Looking forward to seing the rest of the island though.
Overall, it won't happen. The servers can't cope with that type of load (live ones where PVP can happen) when they isolate these tales to private servers, they can do a lot more because the area isn't as big, they isn't other ships eating up memory and CPU, and they don't have to handle disconnecting or reconnecting issues. (Plus on live servers people always joining and leaving which hits the server hard) It doesn't take a genius to figure out, and I'm unsure how most people who play the game haven't figured this out yet. End the day, it won't happen at all. The only interactable NPC's we'll ever see like this will be in the tales. Why do you think the new skeletons are not in the open world like when they added POTC, because the shader uses too much memory and resources, starts bugging out and such. So, it's easier to leave it within a private environment where it's exclusive to see within the tale.
Something a lot of people don’t know is that the red herrings actually give you emissary value for picking them up off your fishing rod and setting them on your boat (they count as treasure). You can get T5 in like 10 minutes with a teammate without interruptions.
Honestly, this was a refreshing new experience! I loved roaming around and seeing the beautiful sights. Plus, a detail I really enjoyed was the Fiddle music from the alley. I spent a few minutes just around the corner and listening, hiding.
You're adventure went about like our crew 😂 Everything including being bummed at the end of it. Great adventure overall tho and I loved watching you and Exodus work together! 😁
personally I think LeChucks crews curse should be a reward for fully completing all 3 tall tales, similar to how getting the Yo Ho song worked, as it would be a much better reward to the current trinkets that you gain, as even if this curse becomes the easiest in the game, it is still one of the coolest, and if the 2/3 tall tales have more difficult secrets that you must find in order to receive this curse it would be worth while.
LoMI is amazing. Normally me and my crew play the story once and then revisit Tall Tales for the commendation. This time we 100%'ed it in one session because we were so immersed in it.
1. It changes nothing about core gameplay, as nothing from the tale is outside the tale. Everything inside the tale is isolated within it. This isn't like the POTC one, where they added little things like ocean crawlers into the main game. Nothing new got added within the main world and won't until season 10 in October/November (and that won't even be any of the mechanics within the tale it's something totally different that is coming) which will run through Christmas and New Year, making way for season 11 in Feb.. 2. 'good earnable cosmetics.' same as always, get all the commendations, finish the tales = Rewards.
You should be lucky they not made that puzzles on ""Gilbert Goodmate" level. This point n click was nightmare bc most of solutions was like.... "How the F this have any sens??!"
I found the red herring before we even got to land, thought it was a new fish, saw it was an ancientscale. Realized it was an item. Disappointment. Give me the lionfish.
yea the tall tale is great.. best tall tale we had. But problem lays in the fact that its basically only an 3 hour gameplay.. and that is with doing all the commendations. which really suck.. cause after you done all in the monkey island tall tale.. its back to the old sea of thieves which is basically just grind Hourglass, or grind gold.. and sadly that is not very good.
I think maybe, it should be given as a reward for 100% all three Monkey Island tall tales, as the grind to 100 in one of the two factions is hard enough, let alone both. And since this curse is distinct enough from both PvP curses it would still separate the PvE ghost/skelly curse from the PvP ghost and Skelly curses.
Honestly I like it this way. PotC tall tales dropped all at once and a lot of people complained and said it should've been monthly. Having another one to look forward to is good :3
I think that dragging it out is good, but it could've been a bit shorter, like a 2/3 week wait before each Tale drops, yes it would mean the hype lasts less, but the longer you drag out a cliff-hanger, the sooner the hype will die down.
Yep, I'm waiting for the other parts of the Tall Tale series before going through it, since Rare is clearly padding this out. I LOVE that it is set up like a Point and Click Adventure though! Also, NPCs in a tavern... MAKE THAT A THING IN THE MAIN GAME, RARE!
yeah its sad that they were trinkets, as most Captains already have the ones they wanted, and although the painting of the clock tower is cool, that should've been the cosmetic for completing the tale, with something better for 100% the tale.
In order to enjoy this update, you need to be a Boomer who has finished every Monkey Island part back in the early 90's. Also the hype is nothing close to the PL update. Naah im just skipping this tall tale for now. Maybe I'll do it just for the commendations if the rewards worth the 2 hours I'll be spending.
I never played Monkey Island, so before the release I did something simple, I watched a video explaining the lore of Monkey Island. Yes it is not the same as actually completing it, but it does catch you up with the story, and they game it self gives you some background information at the start of the tale, so although I do agree with you it is difficult to fully enjoy this update without playing the original games, I would still suggest giving it a shot.
'Felt like it was just starting' *Face palm* It's tale 1 of course it just started. Did you fall over a rock or something, all stories and such have an introduction to the characters with something there to get you excited (ie, the end where it started to get good). Just have to wait and see in a months time.
I do love playing an introduction to a story after months of zero content updates. Of course I understand how story telling works. I was merely airing a slight disappointment at it ending just as it felt it was starting because I was having fun.
bro the reason Monkey Island is a point and click adventure is due to the fact that the hardware on common computers of the time would've had a difficult time running a more advanced game. Plus its a nice break from the usual Sea of Thieves format, as usually you sail for 30 minutes to the place in the book, to pick up a key, to sail somewhere else for 30 minutes to pick up another key, to sail again for a chest. at least with this one, its all on one island you just need to find it.
Biggest let down of the summer...Extremely Boring not challenging at all. No fights, an extended scavenger hunt. The only "fight" is spraying soda for seconds to kill enemies apparantly weak to root beer. It was not for me and I thought it would be like the Pirates life update... Not even close.
damm thats a ship feels like they are not putting as much effort into the tales even tho it give the game so much backbone and you feel like you have done something now its just click this meh your done so sad and people will let that slide live your vids bro keep them sailing
@@MrGreatHelm what I mean compared to the other ones it was more of an acc adventure but with this one it’s more click click click maybe that was what they were going for just not for me could Be for you tho everyone has there own opinion
