Just in case anybody doesn't know, the song is about origins of the Monkey Kong, "Son Goku" (Japanese)/"Sun Wukong" (Chinese). The original version by Godiego was the theme song for the first TV adaptation of Saiyuki back in 1978, which was live-action as opposed to the later animated versions of the story.

Actually, it's never adapted as anime. The anime called Saiyuuki is an unrelated fiction that shares the same name and Journey-of-the-West inspiration.

The real song was done by a Japanese funk called Godiego like two decades ago. Since then, lots of bands have covered it.
