wuh oh the algorithm kinda likes this video :'0 thank you so much for all the love on this silly compilation!! here's a quick FAQ: "what the heck is this?" - an animated series called LEGO Monkie Kid, which is based off of the 16th century novel Journey to The West! there are 3 seasons of this show right now. "where the heck can i watch it??" if you're in the US, UK, Canada, or Latin America it's on amazon prime or amazon kids+. mostly season 1 and/or 2. for everyone else here is a handy guide of where to watch (that i did NOT create!): docs.google.com/document/d/1lwCkkpo2f0_mKeOPAFYKL5FWbcaB2hcvIRNDRcYItJ4/edit "why does the animation remind me of rise of the TMNT?" - same animation studio, flying bark productions! "why does ____'s voice sound familiar?" the cast is full of VAs who you have probably heard in a number of other shows. notably Jack DeSena (Sokka, Avatar The Last Airbender) as MK, Stephanie Sheh (Hinata from Naruto's English VA) as Mei, and Sean Schemmel (Goku's English VA) as Sun Wukong/The Monkey King. hope this helps! :)
@@youssefbencheikh8637 it’s all been uploaded to Google Drive - I have them all saved. I’d post the links but RU-vid would delete my comment pretty quickly and I don’t want to get my account in trouble. I found it by people posting it in the descriptions of vids around RU-vid
@@moniqueperkinsmp if you guys look up a video on RU-vid called “The demon we seek… is in that castle” with the thumbnail of Pigsy breathing fire - I’ve got a pinned comment there with all the links to the Google drive with all seasons. I can’t post links anymore as I’m getting warnings from RU-vid that I’ve been posting too many so I hope this kinda helps.
"Littraly your entire legacy is about you being impulsive and dodging responsibilities" Mk was not exaggerating, that is quite literally what wukobg does in journy to the west for the whole first 7 chapters
@@somedragonbastard I’m a little confused over the reincarnation thing. Wasn’t the group supposed to be reaching enlightenment and leaving the cycle of reincarnation with their journey?
Honestly I love this animation style. You can see how the characters are based on minifigs, but they're not limited to it like Ninjago's CGI style was. So their movements and expressions are so fluid and vivid.
@@Profileunused I hate to agree with this, but honestly since Wildbrain took over production the intensity went from 100 to 0 (they switched studios after Season 10). Lego is making a Garmadon comic though, made by the same people who made the Invincible comic so that's what I'm looking forward too.
What impresses me the most about this show is how much it actually takes from the original source material. Like, there are some deep lore pulls here from the Journey to the West.
So, for anyone without context, the Buddha told Wukong that he could rule the Heavenly Realm if he could jump out of the palm of his hand. Wukong can not only fly, but jump good. He jumps high enough that he can see the five pillars holding up the sky, and decides to leave some graffiti… and then decides to also pee on said pillar. Then he leaps all the way back to Buddha, thinking he’d won the bet. He did not. Buddha pointed out the graffiti, as well as the faint smell of monkey piss on said finger. Turns out, Bodhisattvas (is that the right term?) are one with *everything*, and that’s more than a metaphor. Aaaand then Wukong fled, before being trapped under Five Faces Mountain for like 500 years.
@Demon In The Closet This is so funny considering I'm now, a year later, a huge fan, and completely obsessed with Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and have been drawing that iteration of the turtles daily for the last 3 months!
Pretty sure Mei was about to doxx and/or SWAT Red Son. You know, Spider Queen (Season 2)'s plan could have gone a lot better if she got Syntax to use his tech skills to SWAT MK. That way, the Monkie Krew have to deal with legal shenanigans, leaving the door wide open for the demons to screw around and find out.. Which is probably super easy considering there don't seem to be any functional emergency services in MK's city.
This makes me realize that if MK actually knew the location of the Demon Bull family hideout, Mei could just *bomb it* and there wouldn’t be 3 seasons of this show. Not complaining though, i genuinely love LMK
I actually notice that right off of the bat and when I looked it up sure enough, same exact company, They need to be a bigger name in animation because their work is beautiful. The liveliness of their animation and that almost Iconic pop
You are doing wrong my man the lego movies are some of the funniest shit ever and I guess ninjago first and second season idk I haven't watch that show in a while but lego stuff is always funny for some reason
@@Ashelybee Its already getting there, we are currently at the shipping phase and people are shipping Macaque with Tang even though they never met other than the time Macaque stole his soul.
@@Ashelybee I’d honestly be happy if the show continues until like 5 seasons, I just really hope the writing and animation quality doesn’t dip overtime though. That would suck
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 well yeah i really, don't get me wrong i love the ninjago show but the 3d art style always bothered me and still bothers me to this day however i saw potential when i saw this show's 2d art style
This is literally just a more chaotic and more anime Ninjago and I’m in love with it Edit: I have no idea why but the “LITERALLY YOUR ENTIRE LEGACY-“ bit is so fluid and fun to watch and I adore it
0:10 Red Son driving through the city and seeming so content as he causes massive destruction is honestly too sweet (in the most dysfunctional of ways 😂)
Who ever knew a lego anime could be so genuinely entertaining lol. The anime/game dub cast, the animation, the goofy sense of humor, it's all very impressive!
I've never watched this show, but I'm spellbound by how much charisma everything about it simply oozes. The dialogue seems organic, the bits are funny, and the animation is actually gorgeous.
@@moniqueperkinsmp ninjago is well know and is and always be a nostalgic show we watched as kids(still rewatching it) Monkie kid on the other hand didn’t get to US and only China I think One of the reasons it’s not known
This show does not as much attention here in America! I absolutely love this show and it's animation is something special. This is a candidate for my top 10 favorite animated show of the 2020s.
3:13 I believe this is the same studio that animated Rise of TMNT? You can really see it in this scene. Also, relatable. Plenty of times when I'm painting, I'll just start painting my palms.
we had lego ninjago, we ruled the world, and now, _we will rule it once more._ I have no clue why I'm being so cryptic I literally have no reason to be
i genuinely think this show is like, fun and well-written, but like oh my god the animators for this series. i love them. it’s just so.,.. _fluid._ It’s enough of a reason to watch the show on its own.
Is that Sean Shemmel as Sun Wukong? Ya'know, the Monkey King from the ancient Chinese Epic: Journey To The West (which this show is sorta based on)? The character who's also known in Japan as Son Goku? Who was Toriyama's inspiration for his own character of the same name in Dragon Ball? Who Sean also voices the adult form of? That's so many layers of reference that it makes my head spin... I love it. I gotta watch this show.
I have never heard of this and I have no idea why it showed up in my recommended, but dang I am here for it. This looks far better than Lego Ninjago did back in its prime.
Monkie kid is by far the BEST animated Lego Tv series of all time, I mean this is better than 3D animated movie like Disney uses, we should all persuade Disney to hire the animators from monkie kid and animate the movie. Also that last part I can’t stop laughing at how Pigsy and Mr Chang(I think that’s his name) we’re just traumatised
Alright first, I'm impressed with the style, it's pleasing to look at, second it's always a good thing when you can recognize all the voice actors -thumbs up-
Holy crap. The voice acting cast in this... Just by listening to this, I can recognize the voice actors of Franky (One Piece), Sokka (Avatar the Last Airbender), Starscream (Transformers: Prime). Not to mention the animation and art style... Wow... This looks like an amazing show.
Im laughing so hard at 1:27 when sun wukong done many bad things especially when he annoys the celestia realm and having a fight with the buddha that is literally the funny thing 🤣🤣
“These 37 emails from my lawyer,” Wait a minute? 37? Sun Wu Kong, what the *hell* did you do to get 37 emails from your lawyer? Better yet, *WHO* is your lawyer?! Tripitaka?!
