For me it's not 100% About castability. It is more about the conditions of the bottom of the area I'm fishing. Also about wind conditions and other factors.

Just take your big baitcasters with braid in boat,put a lighter weight on and start letting it out until spooled,then reel it back on tight.

I use nothing but braid on my conventional reels. Once in a while I will get a back lash, and yes it is within the distance I have casted and reeled in a few times. War lol, there will always be on the subject. too many use braid and don’t have the issues. One thing I have found, if I try to put energy behind the cast as if to cast to Europe then it will mess up. I do however only cast my rovers, my other conventional are used for trolling and the line is let out not casted.

Sounds like you need more tension on your braid when spoiling it onto your baitcaster. Line is biting into itself because it’s too loose when spoiled

Ooooo controversial one here, I can cast either on a baitcaster, but braid actually travels further. It’s all about the dial in. Like someone already said, YOU STARTED A WAR! 😂

The beauty of using braid its strength to diameter ratio is insane. Something that ratio allows you to do is use a much lighter weight and hold bottom. I have used 4 or 6oz sinkers in 80ft of water vs guys using 30lb mono,8-12oz sinkers, still scoping out and not getting fish. I know the answer to your next video and may I suggest 20lb braid vs 20lb mono. That's a fun one.

Braid is amazing, no stretch, great sensitivity, small diameter, etc. But I agree, they can create some problems with large baitcasters with heavy weight...for instance a catfish setup. Additionally, you just don't get quite the abrasion resistance with braid vs. heavy mono, nor do you get any read advantages of braid's good qualities with that type setup. Also with the smaller diameter it takes a lot more braid to fill the spool on these larger reels. That's braid that never is used. Option is to use backing which is another subject. I'm switching all my catfish setups back to heavy-ish mono. Spinning reels? Hands down braid. Just casts better, loads on the spool better and the twist that comes with spinning reels doesn't seem to affect braid as badly as it does mono.

To me lighter # mono is ok on baitcaster, but anything over 20 pound test, im goin with braid on it if im gonna be casting 40 or 50 yds. Ive got 40# power pro braid on my tr200g and 50# power pro on the battle 3. Its all about finding the sweet spot!!! Have a good one!

Haz watched a guy take all the magnets out a catmaxthrew out about 70 to 80 yards if your good with thumb also u can put high speed spool bearings in it do agree with u about the mono on the bigger bait casters have mono no bird nest yet

Get a magged conventional reel it will outcast anything you have
