Monocular vs Binocular Diplopia Explained 

Guess what ??? I've been feeling very bad, but I didn't go to treatment at all. I almost found the cause for this problem, for me it's my posture, the spine is not properly aligned as I had kyphosis. I didn't cure my eyes yet, but I've been feeling soo better from correcting my posture,I had persistent and intolerable headache which I feared I had some tumor or aneurysm. if you think you might have the same problem then try rotating your head to your left and right as much as possible and if it feels like your neck has been stuck or if you feel some pain in your neck, then there's an chance that the problem is because of your bad posture, fixing that might help. Try maintaining an good posture always.

And reducing stress also worked for me.

I am surprised you haven't seen more of it. Monocular diplopia is common in patients with keratoconus because the cone shaped distortion of the cornea creates a second, off-axis, optical system. Since keratoconus is usually bilateral, the monocular diplopia is often bilateral as well. Keratoconus patients often describe monocular diplopia as ghosting or ghost images as one image is usually blurred compared to the other. But the patient may not be able to tell which is the on-axis image and they may be able to shift focus between the two images. It can be almost like they are wearing bifocals. Needless to say, refracting such a patient can be "interesting." The most common correction is a rigid contact lens which provides an artificial regular corneal surface with the irregularities between the back of the lens and the irregular cornea filled in by tears. Since the tears have a slightly different index of refraction there may still be some residual distortions. While keratoconus is considered rare, it is estimated to affect about 1 out of every 2,000 people.

I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with this. It sounds like what you’re describing as what we call a “ghost image“ so, not two true images but rather an image and a ghost image beside it. I recommend you see another doctor, perhaps an ophthalmologist and get a second opinion. No, this is not something that should happen as your age.

its because of your eye muscles do some exercise if not because of neurological and it will slowly go away.

Go to an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. You require medical attention.

It depends on the cause. If it is due to uncorrected refractive erred - meaning you’re glasses prescription needs changed then it can resolve with a change of glasses. If however it is due to an imperfection in that eye - typically a problem with the cornea, lens or retina then no, glasses won’t affect that. See an ophthalmologist to determine cause and if anything can be done. Good luck.

@@SharonAlamalhodaei the weird thing happen this morning.. the double images are still visible but it's started to merge.. before this the ghost image is on the top and looks kinda swap the image.. now the ghost is on the bottom the real image goes up..

JCcanU I am sorry to hear of all of your eye problems! You may consider getting a second opinion from another ophthalmologist. Perhaps there are new or different options for you. Good luck.

@@SharonAlamalhodaei I been to the Springfield mo eye center , my dr could not do cocaine drip he had no license for coke test for horner's syndrome , then i was sent back up about surgery the risk of losing my eye is not worth it. no blood to my eye is why it is rolling up under my eyelid , the lateral surgery they have to cut my eye open. as for pinhole they think better reading glasses will help . i read with 200 the left eye may need a 300. prisms only fix up to 22% im at 60 plus . I just been trying to find out what all Horner's syndrome can do , headaches cluster , eyelid droops , pupil will not dilate face burning eye burning , blurred vision . first dr thought it was stroke . Not enough research on Horner's to list everything going on. or how much brain damage i will end up with .
