I really wonder how M1060C would sound If you put out the foam shields which are from the inside of the pads and then glue the pads back on, how they would sound actually?? I'm really curious, Is It easy for you to make this test?? Or It's a little difficult to glue the pads after take off the foam shield?? They also have a foam shield inside the wooden earcups which is very easy to take off, screw back the wooden cups and tell us If this changes the sound, can you do at least that??

Can you make an EL8 Titanium vs M1060C next comparison or whenever you can?? Again, thank you very much for making the comparison with the XC, It's worthed waiting and I'm gonna wait for the EL8 vs M1060C as well.. If you remember, It told you I had the EL8 Titanium but I ended up returning them because of the clicking noise in the drivers. Although, I'm still interested on getting a pair without that problem because I really liked their sound. Despite I would like more bass-sub-bass emphasis on them, the bass was energetic, very fast with good extention to sub-bass, but I was really seeking for more punch.. Even when I EQed them, they were getting there somewhat but not completely.. The overall sound was a little similar to my K550 mk2 but with poorer dynamics, they had greater soundstage, imaging wasn't spectacular, nor bad.. They had more relaxed sound presentation than K550 and they were needing a lot of power to sound at the loudness I want. I was frustrated that my NX4 couldn't get them as loud as I would like and I wish I had something like xduoo xd 5 plus, although I would get also different sound than NX4... This also happens with k550.... So, that's all I have to say about EL8 Titanium, I hope you compare It soon with the M1060C. Wish you the best!!!

I think so. There’s no comfort issue. The sound is well controlled through the whole frequency range.

Ive looked at the frequency response between the M1060C and the XC and they are VERY similar. Not exact, but similar enough that its interesting.

I thought the QC issues with Monolith was overrated, but my 1060C's headband main screw almost came undone, while the side screw that keeps the cups onto the yolk is now also lose. I'm half way thinking of returning it to just grab the 1070C instead.

Can you tell me the serial number of the XC?? I want to know If you have the latest driver version, Audeze says that every pair of LCD XC having any serial number above 8521266 is the newer version. Yours is the newer????

"Sales Talk" is a protected form of speech (in the USA) and is based on opinion and/or perspective with the intent of selling something. "Neutral" may have a definite connotation in the reviewer's mind but it is not a defined concrete term. In the opinion of the seller the headphone is neutral (and the reviewer has every right to disagree). This is why reviews almost never reference the manufacturer's literature unless it is something concrete such as frequency response or weight. Monoprice does not engage in sales talk because it is not in their corporate culture where their main business is selling adapters, mounts, cables and whatnot at cheap prices. Audeze will engage in sales talk because headphones are their entire business and if they do not sell headphones they lose their jobs.

With certain exceptions. It’s not “sales talk” if the manufacturer makes a particularized claim with the intent to induce a customer to buy, and that customer relies upon the claim as a factor to purchase. If that happens and the claim turns out to not be true, that’s called false marketing and subject to civil penalties. Audiophile companies traffic in loads of false marketing and deceitful practices, and it just takes one civil action to call attention to it.

Do you know any closed(completely closed, not semi closed) planar which has more emphasized sub-bass than LCD XC and M1060C??

The list of closed back planar headphones is very limited. I've owned and heard a lot of them. There is no planar I've ever heard that accurately recreates sub-bass. The big thing about planars is the transience--and quite frankly, that transience is unnatural. Notes/sounds do not decay like that at live venues, and certainly were not recorded, mixed, and mastered for that type of presentation. Audeze, its fanatical fanclub, and greedy reviewers have continually hyped planar drivers when in reality, upon A/B comparisons, you can easily notice that 1) the overall tonality is not "better" than dynamic counterparts, and 2) the claims companies make regularly fall apart. So, to answer you question: no, I don't know of any planar that does what you want.

@@jimis3167 I had the original Aeon Closed and I hated them. They had very narrow soundstage, muffled sound signature, and some treble peakiness. I sold it within a few months because I simply could not appreciate the sound. The Aeon 2 reportedly is not a huge step away from the original--but who really knows. Dan Clark's stuff is okay, but easily overpriced and overhyped. I've got both the Ether C Flow and the Ether 2, and although they are good headphones, I can't see where Dan Clark gets his pricing from. It is way off target. I think the EL8 comes closest to reconstructing sub-bass accuracy, but not by huge leaps. I gotta emphasize that if you want bass, dynamic drivers are the way to go. And some new dynamics have as fast transience as planars.

@@NoThemeReviews Ok, but how dynamic drivers are doing at high listening volumes?? I'm asking because I have an AKG K550 mk2 which the sound(particularly in the bass) distorts at high listening volumes, I remember the EL8 I had didn't distort as much... It was near no distortion and I was hearing very loud.. That made me think, planars have less distortion at high volumes than dynamic headphones or that isn't always the case?? So, now my question is, compared to K550 for example, other newer dynamic drivers will have significantly less distortion at high listening volumes or should I consider getting a planar magnetic??

@@jimis3167 You're talking about a very specific experience and applying that as a generalization. Just because your K550 distorts does not mean all dynamic drivers distort. Regardless, planars distort as well, but it just takes a bit more EQ to get there. You and I have discussed this concern many times, including the perceived superiority of planar drivers. I've said a few times that planars don't do anything materially better than dynamic drivers. The Sivga Phoenix, Base Audio G12 and G7, Rane RH50, for example, are all excellent alternatives for bass response to any planar you can think of. Moreover, you need to understand that YOUR particular "loud" listening level might be far too loud for the headphones. I don't understand what exactly you hoping to find. We've talked about many headphones, and I still cannot tell.

Speed, yes it is similar. The bass is not deeper than the EL8. It's about the same. Planars don't reconstruct deep, accurate bass. The fast transience simply doesn't help in this regard.

While the Monolith planar headphone models don't match the build quality of Audeze models the audio performance os very good and the performance - price ratio is excellent (particularly when Monoprice are discounting them). As with many things, if you want premium build and the pedigree of vaunted brands then it costs, if you just want good performance ignore price and brand image. I actually get why people buy premium products even is performance is not what it's about. I have several expensive watches from Blancpain and Omega but believe me, you don't buy an expensive watch because you're worried about telling the time. If it's just about the sound companies like Monoprice, Hifiman as well as more traditional manufacturers like Sennheiser and Audio Technica make some terrific models at sensible prices.

Everybody is a bit different. The shape of your head, amount and length of hair, and total time you listen in one session are just a few factors. Regardless, would you think it took anything away from the experience if Audeze had implemented a properly padded headband?

For me the lcd-xc are really fun with it trying to have imaging like professional monitors, but also weirdly colored. The bass slam is super fun with the isolation. One if the best in this regard. None of the th900, zmf and other biodyna DDs can isolate as well due to their side air ports....though they have a stronger note weight in the treble. The xc is a funcompromises. I found some less than neutral sources can help with its treble extension energy. My Chord Hugo 2 as a neutral representation for me, doesn't pair as well as my colored-sounding Ibasso dx300 dap. (Also the ibasso dx300 does well with the Hd800S for me)

The LCD-X out of the box were the worst sounding headphone I've ever heard. So bloated and muddy sounding. 100% EQ dependent to sound good and heavy af. Hard Pass. And now you've read a bad review on the Audeze LCD-X

@@stuartcharlton Yeah I got the LCD-XC a few weeks ago taking a blind leap of faith after seeing his review on the XC and talking to him in one of his streams. I have to agree... the XC are the best closed back I've ever heard for sure. I was able to A/B them with the Focal Celestee which are very good... but the XC are definitely better. Never heard the Stellia so I can't comment on them. But I did try the Denon AH-D9200 which cost over $1700 after tax... and the XC are better. I don't even mind the weight of the XC. I have the Carbon Fiber cups on mine. They might have done something with the headband because you don't really notice the XC that much. I tried the LCD-X and you totally knew they were on your head. Besides having a terrible sound sig out of the box... they felt like you were wearing one of those leather football helmets without a face mask from the old days. Andrew(Resolve) also says he likes the XC sound sig more than the X. The XC are 100% an end game Closed Back HP for me

@@JTB-- good to hear. I’ve been looking for a TOTL closed back (not the Stellia - a bit too rich) and have been debating Celestee, LCD-XC, Denon AH-D9200, and DCA Aeon 2 Noire. I have Focal Clears and Hifiman Sundara for open backed and I’m very happy with both.

I want to ask also, how they're doing at high listening volumes compared to dynamic headphones??(because dynamic headphones tend to distort at high volumes in my experience...)

It's just that I know there's better out there and I want better.

Man... I love to see when reviewers rip apart a product that costs 2x or 3x the price and just doesn't deliver. I admit I was curious of the LCD-XC's from other "sources" on YT, however after watching this video I don't have very high respect for that company and hence might go for something else.
