Scaling is the dumbest reason to move to micro-services. They are almost always slower and scale worse than multiple instances of a monolith.There are heaps of advantages, but scaling isn't one of them
I'd said flexibiltiy is a better reason to shift to microservices instead remaining on monolith. Otherwise , some system staying on Monolith still have edges than microservices. Such as email system
I think some of the comments in this video, focus mostly on the title and not on the topic he speaks about. His points can be applied to both Monolith and Microservices infrastructure, but because the faultdomain is more comples in Microservice infrastructure, its more critical in most cases. The video is from 2018 - keep that in mind.
Another monolith to microservices talk? Aren’t we full of these yet? I would like to see some more inspiring or about something inovative or new research rather than these repeating talks on the same theme over and over since a few years now.
