Absolutely blinding performance by Kenneth Connor, a brilliant actor. He had quite probably the best impression of a French accent in the whole programme. Absolutely spot on. Source: French father
"That bounder that rotter that cad "that unprincipled innkeep! .monsieur Alphonse please remember I am his mistress. My apologies mademoiselle. with my dicky heart, I should not get in such a tizz-wazz I am so consumed by jealousy that I am forgetting that we Frenchman have this great tradition of having it off like rabbits. 😂😂
As a huge massive fan of the Carry On films - I adored Kenneth Connor. He played this to absolute and his timing to perfection. My dicky tickers aside RIP to this amazing man. Mesmerising to watch 🌈🙏🏻
And the following escape, with Rene making beep sounds and Alphonse making a low trombone sound. Also the fishing scene where he mumbles " the fish will win every time" Also the scene with thesmall tombstone where he hammers the handcuffs, and after a metallic snapping sound he looks at his obviously damaged tool and throws it away while saying Japanese rubbish.
@Edgar during that time I didn't have to google I found he was indeed English..and did a knock-out Performance of French accent...thanks tho for Your input, Linda.
