@@mammothkiwi Every time a new model comes out, BMW fans are quick to rewrite history almost out of spite. If you go to old forums when the F80 first came out, they said turbo engines and electric steering don't belong in an M car. When the F87 M2 first came out, they said it still wasn't good enough to directly replace the now legendary E87 1M. Going back further, the E90 was criticized for switching to a V8 after years of NA straight sixes, it was the heaviest generation at the time, and yes people hated its design back then (Pontiac Grill was the go-to joke). Even the "legendary" E46 was seen as inferior to an equivalent Porsche 911 by journalists, and we're talking about the 996 generation that is considered the most hated.
@@redline589 sure buddy. Your old car is obsolete. Your old car got nothing over this than the cult following. Few years from now people will be like "Oh! g80 m3 is best bmw ever".
If you have to run a front plate, definitely should use a tow hook mount for this front end. Only way to make that grill look worse is a center mounted plate.
You guys killing me. Your last review of the previous generation CS was the inspiration for me to buy my CS and now you guys making me want to buy the new one! Maybe in 5 years. Great review as usual. And I agree the last gen CS was beautiful 😊.
Dodge been doing that for years. And no I'm not comparing I'm just agreeing I love the fck you vibes that both makers did. At least they still give us ICE engines, too
@gianni_schicchi the older m2s ( not the new one) looked awesome. My neighbors have a laguna blue and a white one from the other Gen. I hate the new one but thats just my opinion
@@gianni_schicchi Porsche doesnt do it better. Porsche does everyting classy and savory and techy... Even the bad boy RS cars. This M3 absolutely looks like a german mix with an EVO or an WRX and taken to eleven. Absolutely bonkers
The pure, distilled ugly on display with that car is actually kind of impressive. Like they were _trying_ to make it as hideous as possible (and succeeded).
@@richardmorris7063 i bought a ct4v blackwing over these becuase i got it fully loaded for same price as base g80 and havent looked back. manual transmission feels so good on the caddy
I really enjoy when you guys make video's like this. The way cars should still be made. Thanks for a nice review...BTW, my Continental tires on my SUV are the best. They good, are very quiet and handle very well..Best tires I have ever owned. And, that's coming from someone who aalways brought BF Goodrich tires..
FYI those seats are the most comfortable track style seats I have ever lived with. 911's version are not comfortable, the last C63's would kill your behind in minutes. Done hours of driving and can easily say these are the best out there.

7:56 "put it on slowest mode" , all you have to do is double click on M1 or M2 buttons and it will go into comfort mode for all settings.
Even the Competition of this era are scary fast. I never expected to keep up in my FBO 350z but nothing has pulled away from me as fast as the 2022 m3 comp!
Glad to see some love for Signal Green, have it on my G80. When I saw Signal Green online I wasn't sold, but holy shit after seeing it in-person I was in love with it!
I ordered a 2025 LCI G82, Riviera Blue with full Ivory white Merino Bucket seats. Car should be here in 11 months. Excited!!! New taillights and headlights should look sharper!!
Are you being serious? They haven’t announced anything about the lci yet unless you are privy to something. If so, please explain the differences between the 25 and 24 models.
@@joshuaallard-howells8878 My friend is a GM in a major BMW dealership. LCI has not been announced but will enter production in march of next year. The car more than likely will be announced towards the end of this year. First allocation will be mine, and like I said, it will be Individual Riviera Blue🫡. Headlights and taillights are the only thing we know will change. Interior won’t change too much as I Drive 8 was just implemented into G82. New wheels might come though🧐
I genuinely hate some of the trends this car follows because otherwise, having seen it, it has amazing potential. While the design has been ripped to death and you already know if you like it or not (I don’t like the front end, love the rear end), the interior has been following a lot of negative trends with the over simplification and contemporarzation of systems that worked; things such as the climate control and drive modes should not be hidden behind menus as they will interfere with driving practicality. Also, while the gauge cluster looks appreciably higher resolution and has sharper graphics, it doesn’t fit the car in my opinion and just cheapens the overall look, and I’m not even mentioning the whole BMW iD for a good reason. If you like to understand where I’m coming from, please watch the m3 2021 review too and compare the interiors. Anyway, thank you for coming to my TedTalk
Totally agree. I just got a 2023 in June but wished I could’ve had the ID7 without the ridiculous curved display. It functions really well but looks so out of place to me still.
“Look how fast the shifts are, there is no delay”… I can literally see the delay from the fingers moving vs. the audible gear shift (ignore the rev counter, it’s artificial). I’m not saying it’s crazy long, but it’s appreciably worse vs. previous DCT. I’ve driven both on track and the ZF infuriated me. I guess it’s personal perception. Same argument with people saying they can’t tell the difference between 30/60/120hz screens.
I’ll admit that particular shift when I did that and said it was slightly laggy. I did 2 quick shifts and lower rpm’s which is why. When you’re actually driving it hard and shifting at the proper rpm’s it’s quick
I recently saw an episode of black mirror where Yuri and Jakob were tasked with reviewing a space station, but the review takes 6 years in space to complete. It doesn’t end well Dx
I abhor the contrast wheel diameters. Either 20s all around or 19s all around with AWD on this I would buy a set of four gold M performance wheels with the smaller 20” diameter and square 285 width, then thrown em on 10mm spacer out back. Then you can rotate your tires and double their life. While making a more fun car!
What a car but that Grille ugh. As of now the M8 Competition which I’ve seen in real life is the only M car that has not been tainted with that repugnant grille😅 I couldn’t believe I saw it parked in a grocery store parking lot!! The new M2 I suppose it’s better than the pig snout but that’s not saying much.
I thought the license plate was photoshopped-in at first… would be nice if BMW had a more offset anchor that did not interfere with the design so much (for those countries/states/provinces that require a front plate).
I watched this review because of you guys. But I have no idea what BMW designers are thinking lately. The front end of this car makes me actually a bit nauseous.
The base M3 is pretty good, do you guys think the upgrades are worth the $40,000 more? It seems like this is more for collectors because who tracks their sedan so much that they need the CS upgrades? Like i'm sure 99% of people would have just as good of time at the track in am M3 as an M3 CS. If you that hardcore go all out of with a track car not your daily driver sedan.
