For all those questioning one car hitting another to flip it, just search for Chad Boat's ARCA flip at Kansas coming off of turn 2. Slower cars, slower track, and it still happened.
I'm not one of those people who watch for crashes but this sport was built on fast cars and danger. If they slow down the cars it's just another reason for the fans to stop watching. The cars getting up and over draws attention to people who may not be a fan and that may be a reason for more fans to come. It's racing. These drivers signed up for this stuff. Keep the cars fast.
Can't go over 200 mph at Daytona and Talladega for very long without a car eventually ending up in the grandstands. Then, goodbye car racing. Maybe take the restrictor plates off but still regulate the speeds to stay around 200 mph but no higher. Not gonna be an answer that pleases everyone, though.
Spencer Gwin just leave them there are too many rules. The cars are meant to go fast it's called racing. It is much easier and better to make the fences stronger than to make the racing boring and to lose more fans.

That car didnt get in the air high enoth to go into the stands. Theres not a way to stop the cars from getting airborne. The air is very powerfull when these cars get turned sideways. They don't flip like this as much as they used to
Yes you could reduce the speeds but what is that gonna help? What they need to do is bring a harder compound to the superspeedways so the tires don’t blow like this
As long as one vehicle hits another at 190mph right in the side, this will keep happening. The car can be as planted on the ground as it wants, but if it's getting side-drilled like this and the impact even remotely picks the side up off the ground, it's going to go over with minimal hesitation.
I kinda agree with Darrell, there's no reason why these cars need to be going 200+ mph. If you watched the ARCA race, they went around 180-185 mph, and it was still good racing. It's cool that they can go 200 mph, but it's not necessary and it's much more dangerous
These cars are so advanced in terms of safety that they honestly don't need a restrictor plate, they could be going 220 mph and crash and the driver would most likely be just fine. Speeds are not the issue
Same I already have the same feeling I had for the 2016 Talladega race and that one had two flips in it. This weekend we have not even started any races and we already got someone tumblin on the roof.

I don't think this can necessarily be blamed on any failing of the aero safety package on the cars. This was bad luck, McMurray got hit in the left side of the car before the roof flaps had a chance to sit the car back down on the track. If he hadn't had that hit in the left side the car would have sat back down on the track but I strongly suspect that crash would have been a lot worse than what happened as he would almost certainly been hit by several other cars instead of just one. Sure, the cars aren't really supposed to get airborne at all when they go sideways but at over 200 mph it's not surprising they will lift a little before the roof flaps fully catch the air and bring the car back down...

No, do not make the cars slower. These guys know the risk they take every time they strap into a race car. Making the cars slower is going to make even more people stop watching.
These cars get airborne way too easy when hit at speed, The exact thing happened to Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson last year, this time McMurray didn't have a wall to set him down
I think NASCAR should just go ahead and get into figure 8 racing . I mean Hell that's what people want to see the big one . People don't want to see racing .Because you won't see it NASCAR . Because that's not what they're doing ......
