Same; I stay the hell away from the actual Monsters cuz they just make my blood pressure go up. The Monster Dragon Teas actually help me focus. Nothing beats coffee energy drinks though, which have natural caffeine.
Monster is genius at marketing. They’ve positioned themselves as THE drink rappers in Japan drink, because of that they’re absolutely killing it in the Japanese market now.
That just seems so culturally accurate. American rappers are getting boozed up drinking Hennessy, Patron, etc. and the Japanese rappers are getting energy drinks so they can focus longer and work harder
@@andycopeland7051 monster is a demonic drink. If you know what is good for your soul you would stop drinking it. If you don’t believe me, ask God to reveal it to you in faith.
kyle is gonna go down to the airsoft field and kill some kids not calling their hits and then hes gonna go chug a few monsters and then brag about how hes better than DEV GRU guys.
@Richard Freeman Sounds familiar. I graduated high school in 1996 and it was definitely my convenience store drink of choice, as was lemon-lime All-Sport. I remember each of their flavors had a unique bottle design. I still see it for sale once in awhile but it's always only just one flavor that looks like Pepto-Bismol.

The modern day Atari isn't the same company as the one from the 80s. That one went out of business and its assets were sold off. Another company called Infogrames bought its assets and changed its name to Atari.
These comments are great, "I don't get energy from them" they just (insert thing that is equal to getting energy) i.e. help me stay up, focused, concentrate, make me feel like I'm just drinking coffee or my favorite make "me feel energized"
Agreed haha, I saw a buried comment that said “All these energy drinks don’t do anything for me, they just make me less tired and more energized rather than giving me actual energy” like *read that again, but slowly*
around 10 years ago we barely got any of these unique brands that weren’t asss popular. I remember when we got monster and it had me hooked as a teen because of the unique taste.
5 years in the navy and Monster was definitely the crew’s drink of choice. I rarely drank them but I actually felt that Full Throttle gave the best results 🤷🏾♂️
You too?!?! I thought i was the only one 😂😂😂 LMAO like. Something about it. An i personally think it taste the best. Over every energy drink I've had (beside red bull) but that's way to fuckin expensive for a sip of drink
They are pulling ahead because they constantly have deals that beat RedBull. 2 for 4.50 or 3 for 5.50 RedBull offers 3 8 ounce cans for like 7 bucks and Monsters are all 16 oz.
Okay so I’m 3 years late to this party, but watching this video had me wondering if I’ve been sleeping on Monster by always going with RedBull. Holy shit Monster has some banging flavors! Thanks for the push to give it a try!
This sounds petty, but I actually *really* like the Zero Ultra for two reasons. One - it's a little less sweet than the other versions of Monster, and it isn't as "harsh". The other is the textured can. I know that's a dumb reason to like a drink, but the little bumps make the can not feel slick when it gets condensation on it. I have *zero* clue why other manufacturers don't do this.
I also like the texture can. I’m mostly a Reign guy, because I enjoy feeling like the Doom slayer after I down one in five minutes, but the balanced taste of Zero Ultta is really nice.
I drink Energy drinks from time to time, and since I discovered them about 4 Years ago, Monster Energy has been and will always be my first choice when it comes to Energy drinks.
Been drinking monsters since the beginning. Love the original green, but I like a few of the other flavors as well. I could never get into Red Bull, it tastes like salty pineapple juice to me.
Monster is my go to. Theyre fairly priced taste better, have their own tastes. Most brands just make a bad Redbull copy taste and more choices. I go for the always good Zero Sugar and white ultra.
@@Spartan98546 it might fall out with the people who want it for a preworkout, but it's becoming more than that. People who want an energy drink simply for the energy are going to gravitate to bang because it's cheaper than redbull or monster and it has much more caffeine, so it'll still affect the people who have developed an intolerance to drinks like monster or red bull
i dont think i ever would've drank energy drinks if not for the 30 year old boomer meme but since i like the meme i started monster zero ultra and now i compulsively buy it whenever i see it because it tastes so good
There’s more powerful energy drinks out there. Bang and Lit are two that have been peaking popularity recently. (Not for the faint of heart, literally.)
Back when I made sport of disrespecting my own health, Monster was my first energy drink experience, followed by Rockstar, then Redbull. Monster was the only one that seemed to do anything for me, maybe because of the sketchy ingredients. It packed a serious punch, followed by an even more serious crash. The brand had a cooler variety of flavors, and was more flavorful in general. As a result, the other two brands failed to impress me, or even compare.
I prefer redbull with alcohol and monster for everyday caffeine. Monsters variety of flavours has always been the main appeal though and they’re beating everyone else on that front
Also important to note their presences in motorsports. Monster Energy is the title sponsor for the NASCAR Cup Series, and Red Bull has their own Formula 1 team, among many, many other things.
Monster has developed itself into THE drink of the alt and punk community as well. Monster is just way cheaper and tastes WAAAAY better! Especially cause they have so many flavours, all of which have been made so damn nice.
Java Monster Irish Blend is my daily drink. In fact, I’ve bought up my town’s entire supply and am now having to order it from Amazon. Not even kidding.
One thing I don’t think was mentioned was both of the companies present in sports, more particular motor sports usually. Monster and Redbull are huge influencers and sponsors of those events and must receive substantial revenue from everything else besides the drink. Their social media presence, money from sponsorships and advertising. Both companies are enormous in their scale and out reach
Belgian here. Monster has amazing flavours. i don't care about the energy part tbh. But they took a good product and made it better, i don't care that they reinvented the wheel because they made it so much better.
someone commented "I rarely drink energy drinks because of the energy. I drink them for the unique flavour you can't find in sodas. And Monster is up there." but it has 189 replies so I'm talking about it here. V energy drink tastes really good when cold, its pretty much the only fizzy drink I can tolerate because it tastes so good. And I like energy :D
@@real-cr3qo Uh.. not really lol. If you're health conscious at all, drop energy drinks and just buy caffeine pills. Way cheaper, better for you overall, and they won't make you crash.
@@SynZ777 I dont drink caffeine at all anymore. But when I did, i didn't drink it to feel energy. Becuse I never felt anything from it. It was the taste. Never crashed either. I drank alot though for years. Everyday. It did eventually turn out bad. My heart started doing weird shit so I stopped. But one a day still won't do much if ur a healthy person.
I was in high school in 2003 in Canada, and I remember kids talking about this new energy drink at the corner store. It was red bull but it was in Japanese and came in a brown bottle similar to a medicine bottle. I didn’t know red bull was in cans by this time. Maybe they didn’t hit the Canadian market until the early 2000s
If I'm not mistaken at Warped tour back in 2010 (I think?) They were handing out free monsters left and right. Also alot of the bands were drinking monsters in between songs. I will always associate monster with that vibe and lifestyle. I am aware that's not by accident
I've never met anyone who liked Red Bull for anything other than its caffine content though everyone I've met who drinks Monster loves it's size and value as well as it's litany of flavours. It's a surprisingly good product, and it certainly helps to have a selection of sugar-free flavors that dont taste like actual shit.
Eastern european here. In my country Redbull, Hell and Monster are the big players. I personaly prefer Redbull (especially the winter edition) but I also drink the other ones from time to time.
agreed, i'd love to seem them come out with a new line of non caffeinated soft drinks, even if they're literally just copies of their current drinks just without the energy part
Monster and Rockstar are virtually the same price in the US, with alot of stores doing "mix and Match" sales. Flavor is really the only thing going in Monsters favor.
Original Monster has that Monster taste, which I really like, but with the Monster ultra, juice and etc. It's heaven to me, also their 300mg energy drink Reign are great.
In 2004 I took a business class at Columbus State Community College. Our teacher assigned us a company to follow on the stock market. I got HANS. I called the company and told them I was doing a project about their company in school. They sent over $10 in coupons and all kinds of information. They were super nice on the phone too. Well, I watched the stock climb and climb. I tried to convince anyone I knew to buy their stock. Nobody did and I never had any money to. I wish I could go back in time and buy some now. I really enjoy your channel Company Man. Thank you!
Columbus State Alumni here, I started about the same time. Went into Medical Imaging though. I wish I had seen how big Monster was going to get at that time. There were so many energy drinks that I just thought they were all going to peter out at some point.
I think red bull makes most of its sales in nightclubs as a mixer with alcohol, while monster because of its size and the different flavours, it more of a “buy it and drink it” type of drink. Plus monster is cheaper, you get a lot more bang for your buck and tastes better, in my opinion.
@@dylancarroll4623 It makes sense, they'd have to waste so much space storing and using all those little cans, plus I'm sure it's cheaper to have it on the fountain.
Plus the early 2000’s is when “extreme” sports got popular again and Monster invested into sponsoring these sports. I think that would be their biggest reason they go popular so fast when Monster released.

As a Czech - monster is literally the only energy drink I would buy. It's because of the variety. Red Bull was pioneer but got stuck with trying to make their only "stock" flavour the brand. Monster's Juiced line line Mango Loco, Ripper, Punch or the tea ones like Rehab are actually good tasting soft drinks. The base Monster does not really interest me all that much. BTW I've only seen RedBull being so popular when RedBull and Vodka (called "the Wings") was the club drink of choice for like 3-4 years. It made me really hate the taste and smell of RedBull.

i only buy the original monster because it works really good with a specific low caffeine preworkout I love & need, its very bad on your teeth though, the original monster specifically will get you dental bills over time. if anyone knows how to combat that ill send you a direct deposit to keep me from needing more root canal
