Yeah Miyu showed some great progress at WST finals. She had the aggressive Pamela Rosa energy, went very fast on the course and used the course more like blunt stalls on the quarter pipe etc instead of stepping off and did flip tricks I’m so glad for her winning Gold as a rookie, she didn’t make it to the Olympics with so many people competing for 3 spots but man did she do well here. Her 2nd and 3rd runs were flawless, I loved seeing how much the crowd cheered for her ending line. 🎉

Momiji: hands down by side relaxed like aneuan Dixon Yumeka Oda: She always crouches long before she pops the board, with her hands clenched into a fist low down almost at board level. Liz Akama: She bounces a lot like she’s on a trampoline before every trick. Like how someone would prep themselves when trying to hop over a wall. But I also like her high consistency, no one else smashes fs 270 switch board and flat ground fs big heels like she does in a run bolts. Funa Nakayama: She is like paige. Funa when skating has a tendency to hold her arms far ahead of her like she is pushing a shopping cart. But to be honest after seeing her heelflip to back lip final try at the WST final in Budapest I think people should cut her a break for her style, she’s a high tech queen! Paige: As stated it’s strange that she used her arms almost as if she’s only just stepped on a skateboard, while simultaneous skating switch in a more proficient manner than most of the other skaters. With how she used her arms it’s always a shock when she lands a totally clean and steely crook grind etc

Now that she's practically retired from skateboarding, she's not going to learn at all !!! She became a race car driver!!!

@@hevvyserve She doesn't skate anymore, why would she learn new tricks? She has paved the way, now it's time for the younger generation to step up the game.

@@jakubbriza7274obviously she still skates. She made it to the women’s final in x games. You ain’t going to the finals if you ain’t skating. You gotta be skating quite a bit.

you need a lot of speed to grind the whole rail and that is just harder and more risky. the ramps and quarter pipes in the corners are mostly used to turn around which i find unfortunate... i guess people dont want to risk it with a quarter pipe trick since it is not technically part of the street skating discipline. but when they do tricks on the quarter pipes, like miyu did the blunt 180, it gets rewarded by the judges.

Disagree. Still a lot of good tricks but didn't do a ton of tricks. 84.00 was judged correctly.

@@MH-wt4yr like 5 years ago a fs lip slide or gap fs 180 would win the women’s contest, you’d have to listen to announcers hyping up an Ollie. Now the ladies start out runs with kickflip fs board, they have a deep bag of tricks. At WST FINALS in Budapest Funa finished off with a heelflip back lip. There were mantle flips into slides and grinds. A few years ago at SLS malto doing a flip out of a crook had the crowd screaming, now you have Momiji Nishiya who would also do the same trick in her runs. Come on bro, denigrating the women at this point is rich. They grew massively, with Japan leading because the women are treated equally in Japan. At the skateboarding clubs the older people encourage the girls just as much as the boys. Even now by next Olympics it’s going to be insane because atm the 10 year olds that will be around the age of this lot in for years are showing a higher baseline, showing they use switch as much as regular.. I’ve seen video of some random totally unknown 12 year Japanese girl doing an Ollie LATE BACK FOOT TRIPLE FLIP up a ramp as if it was nothing. I have a feeling when women’s skateboarding grows even more in a few years, you’ll still be ragging on them man. Between that and you being the lone person complaining about “politically motivated announcers” it feels like you have a big chip on your shoulder and have no real love for skateboarding.
