They are robbed of being able to hunt at night being in captivity makes them lethargic because they do nothing all day and night it stops problem solving ability and stunts it's mental growth, tanks are too small.its like being in prison without committing a crime . Just saying.have a good one.
this is a really weird habitat for leopardgeckos. the live in dry stony and sandy areas and not mossy forest floor, give them something to hide and a possibility to cllimb...
x Krͥisͣpͫy They don’t need to climb, they’re not good climbers and are quite clumsy. However they should get at least 3 hides, a warm, cold, and humid hide.
I've used heat pads and heat lamps (one or the other not both, I've also bred and kept them successfully for years) as long as they have a hot and cool side and yes 3 hides of varying temp and humidity they will be ok. while they are considered desert animals during the day they spend a lot of time underground, where the humidity is going to be a bit higher naturally. And in captivity , especially if you live in a dry state, you need to give them a bit of humidity or a humid hide box , otherwise they are prone to horrendous eye and shed issues .
Yeah your gecko needs a proper steup man there nocturnal and seeing it being active during the day means that's it's stressed out which can lead to a lot of health problems.
@@fishywishes8150 lame and ugly rank that's way too small for all those animals. They keep going back and front in one place because it's so crammed and they got no place to sleep 🙄
Kind of irrelevant, but I love discovering new animals because it gives me brainstorming ideas for new Pokémon! Your pet Fire Eel made me think of a literal Fire/Water-type Eel Pokémon that constricts its prey, then overheats itself to boil the prey alive!
I love your african leaf fish! Such an underrated fish. We got some babies in and I impulse bought it because it looked like a grouper. Probably one of the funnest fish I've owned!
They make hides that face the glass , if you have to see them . It is a comfort and stress factor for them , and many reptiles . Really nice setups , the tank is AMAZING
Pacu fish are actually vegetarian fish. In the wild they mostly eat plant matter, and occasionally eat bugs and small fish. Sadly people that have them treat them like they are meat eaters, since they will eat just about anything you put in the tank. Too much meat proteins will make the Pacu sick and unhealthy. Goldfish food, algae wafers, and romain lettuce are what they should be fed. The tank looks good for now, but it is way overcrowded, and too small for when the Pacus get bigger. A full size Pacu can get 3.5-4.5 feet. At that size they will eat or just kill the other fish in the tank, and they will uproot and shred all the live plants. For the short term your tank will seemingly do fine. Truthfully for 3 adult Pacu the minimum tank size you should have is 1000 gallons. In my opinion Pacus should not be sold on local fish stores, since most customers that buy them try to keep them in to small of a tank, and want to get rid of them when they are huge and eaten or killed all the other fish in the tank. Sadly no one wants a huge Pacu, so getting rid of them when big is very difficult. If the employees that sell them really knew about Pacus they would not sell them to just anyone who wants them. You did mention not to get discouraged if you tank doesn't work just keep trying. So I say to you good luck.
Jeff Frank while I won’t be as rude as the other guy, I do wish to point out they’re red-bellied Pacu, so they will only get about 2 1/2 feet. However, I do agree they need a larger tank, just not 1000 gallons.
I enjoy the tank. Idk if most other fish owner's know that the Denison Barb is actually a endangered species. Idk I just found that out after doing some research on my fish. It bothered me and just felt like sharing.
yeah i was thinking the same thing those Pacu are going to outgrow that tank never get more then 1 PACU and your going to need hundreds of Gallons for just that 1.
Those Pacus have so much Red in those bellies...I thought they were Piranhas from a distance! So Beautiful! And I Love the combination of species you have in That tank! FANTASTIC!!!!
Love the open top paludarium. I'm also intrigued by the use of succulents like the zebra haworthia in one of your terrariums. Seems a little wet in there for them but they look good. Interesting.
Ive never heard them called crawl crabs ha,we call em crayfish in NY, but ive heard crawfish, crawdad/daddies and mudbugs. Large and Smallmouth Bass and sheephead cant resist em live
Nice tank variety love the one you just trimmed looks very nature with ravine down the middle! in regards to the leopard gecko the hides provide a safe place for security, low light which they prefer generally, and most important is moisture in den for ease of shedding. typical problems relate to shedding often in leopards and some moist sphagnum moss bedding under or in the hide will help. I did one dry/warm hide and a cool/moist one on the other side of tank under wood/plants décor. They will survive but not thrive as they are tough as nails with or without a hide so no worries.lol They are from Afghan/Pakistan area and live in rock crevices in mountainous regions which provide shelter and a moist environment compared to outside the burrow. Animal and plant husbandry comes with the responsibility for their care whether a goldfish or dog or horse etc. Nurture and they will all shine//
It is a custom built 200 gallon plywood aquarium. I built it and the video of how can be seen here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LaQ8ckY2AXs.html
The fish tank is badass, awesome job. I’m going to have to echo what others are saying about the geckos though, they really do need to have some form of hides in their enclosures, which applies to basically all gecko species. I know that sucks for display purposes, but you’d honestly get much more activity out of them during the night anyway. I’d definitely suggest you look into day geckos if you haven’t already, they’re diurnal and are probably the best displays of any geckos. They’ll still need hides, but you’ll see much more of them during the day and being tropical/arboreal you’ll have more options for plants and can skip the traditional hides in the process if you so choose (they’ll hide in the foliage or any hollowed bamboo/cork rounds if you provide them.) All of that being said though, awesome setups, even the geckos minus my gripes.
Please do some more research on the leopard geckos and the setup they need. For starters, they require 3 hides, a warm hide with a heat mat underneath, a cold hide and a humid hide to aid in shedding. They have no hiding space at all right now and they can die of stress. Covering the whole tank with live moss is too humid for your gecko and will cause respiratory problems. You need to change your setup immediately, this is extremely stressful to your geckos.
"Ach du lieber, mein schatz"! Gorgeous tank of fish! I'm 78 now. But when I was in my mid teens, my tank of tropical fish was my pride & joy!!! I loved the plants as much as the fish, especially the straight & corkscrew Vallisneria grasses! Had a couple Corydora catfish for more than 15 years. The Sumatra Barbs were maybe my most favorite, especially in a large group. You needed incandescent lighting to bring out their best color! Also raised Siamese "Bettas". Most gorgeous!! Wonder memories came back because of your fine video!!! "Vundabaa" und "gesundheit" mein freund!!!!!
Your geckos are nocturnal and need at least two hides, one MUST be dry for them to sleep and one MUST be humid as they need humidity to properly digest food and to stop themselves getting skin diseases
Bailey Swift you clearly know nothing about reptiles. Reptiles need heat to properly digest food. Also I have got my information about leopard gecko care fron the internet, breeders, rescues as well as personal experience owning multiple leopard geckos over several years. Maybe you need to do more research in general before spouting out false information as facts.
Feature Creature I also own several leopard geckos and from both personal experience and a course from college has taught me what I know, I’ve studied geckos very closely including the leopard gecko and they NEED moist and dry habitats do not tell me they don’t as that would be false information. You can’t always believe what you hear on the internet, leopard geckos are nocturnal so need hides to sleep in during tee day, here they are forced into the open and it isn’t natural at all
Bailey Swift I agree with that, I'm not disagreeing with any of what are saying here. They need hideaways, they are nocturnal and need a dry environment with a humid hide. I am disagreeing with why they need that humid hide, it is for shedding and additional hydration not to aid in digestion.
Man, amazing tanks and setups, really giving me some inspiration for future projects! But as many already told you, you really got to give your leos atleast 2 hides (one humid one dry) or otherwise they will easily get sick, impacted or simply stressed and will definitly not live their full live, grow to the maximum size and show natural behaviour. Hope you can take and implement some constructive criticism. Its only for the well being of the animals. Btw, how did your eel and crawfish not already jump out of the tank?! xD
Dude ! This tank is fucking awesome 👏🏾 so many beautiful fish that “you’re not supposed to put together “ I can name every single one of them 👍👍 great job!! And with that being said, you need to hook those geckos up with some hiding caves man
I have a suggestion. Practically everyone here said get some hides for your gecko. I don't know shit about geckos, but if everyone interested enough to watch this video, and then comment afterward, I would get em a hide and it's the geckos choice if it wants to use it or not. If it uses it, then get it another one! Pretty simple. Then you can prove them right, or prove them wrong with your video evidence! Lol Pretty cool tanks though!
Senor Jru - you can't feed the fish the "Lord"!!! God is spirit & has no body! But I'm sure HE loves the fish too. But remember, it's only through Jesus Christ that you can be Saved & go to Heaven! The WAY is narrow! Not religion, but a relationship!!!
TerribleTerrence that tank is soooo bad look at the size ratio of the fish he miss one day of feeding and all those fish will be gone then there is no room for anything and don't even get me started on the geckos
Hi can you not remove the pacu and only keep small fish as it does not suit your tank and does not look as nice as before if you also can go back and see those videos you will agree with me thanks
Yes a good bit of the scape has been changed due to keeping the pacu. I agree I did like the scape before the pacu better. One day I may go back to the scape being prioritized and the fish secondary. For now I am enjoying the pacu and not being limited in my fish opitions due to the plants/ scape. That being said I have been prioritizing the scape in the terraium as the main focus over the inhabitants. I get the fun and enjoyment of growing and creating a small world with the terrarium and the enjoyment of the inhabitants with the aquarium.
The exhibits look beautiful but as everyone and their mother has said the Gecko's need a hideaway, even something small would do as long as it gets the job done.
Shawn Sherard I have a live one in there and more I could put in. The problem is live ones put up a fight and the pacu are more of an opportunist eater, so they end up not really even trying to eat them.
Shawn Sherard yes true, but all of the legs are pointy and the claws make up a large portion of the meat in a crawfish. Pointy wriggling legs could easily take out a pacus eye. It’s just simpler and safer to feed dead crawfish, but for very large fish like timensis peacocks, arapaimas and redtails live crawfish is usually OK to feed
I am really sorry, we can discuss all day long how natural it is that animals eat other live animals. But people who get turned on by feeding live food, are trying to compensate for something... At least that's my personal opinion.
StAqZ It the key to tiger barbs with other fish is having at leat 10 in a school. With having at least 10 barbs the fish stay focused on niping and working out a social order with the other barbs. They will be too focused on the fish of thier own kind to worry with the other fish. The more you have the less aggressive they are to other fish.
StAqZ It Barbs are semi aggressive community fish and should not be kept with aggressive fish. The Pacu is actually a docile schooling vegetarian fish. If in the tank Pacus are fed meat it makes them mean and in the long run causes health issues.
Jeff Frank unless you've watch river monsters staring Jeremy Wade Fish Attack: Thanks The red-bellied pacu's diet consists mainly of insects, fruits and nuts. Their large choppers are perfect for cracking open rubber tree nuts and crushing seeds. However, the pacu started feeding on other fish in 1999, when their usual food sources became scarce. The locals in Papua New Guinea even blame these river monsters for destroying the tilapia fish population. The pacu have been known to attack humans, too. In 2001, two fishermen in two separate incidents reportedly bled to death after their genitals had been bitten off by pacu fish.
How do you keep your fire eel from coming out of your rimless and topples aquarium. I have a 100gallon rimless tank and tried it a few times and ended taking a few back because they have fallen on the floor thankfully with me in the room. Your response would be helpful.
shooterjon mku with this tank I have a large amout of "floor space". The eel is not as concerned with water depth as it is with bottom area. With the combination of hiding places and large areas to roam the eel doesn't try to get out and explore.
