I hope that for the next monster hunter game, capcom actually distinguishes the game play even more when it comes to monster behavior. Let's say a nargacuga which is actually stalking you and disappears quickly in the woods.

Yeah I’ve seen RageGaming talk about stuff like that. It’s a fantastic concept but I would assume very resource consuming. I do hope they double down on the non-combat behaviors of the monsters.

Or a nerscylla (or a new type of spider monster) that can separate hunters from a group and maybe leave them tangled up somewhere. Basically have monsters set up ambushes!

yeah I agree, I would also LOVE if the monsters get a buff/nerf depending on the day/night cycle and actual dark areas like imagine nargacuga being more sneaky and deadly on the night but a tiny bit slower on the day maybe a monster that is in a very dark areas placing bioluminescent lights to bait you and you have to wait for a specific sound effect to attack/ do a cool thing basically I want it to be more immersive, harder and rewards game knowledge like one of the coolest early moments in iceborne for me was breaking barioth hands for the first time, I had no idea but someone did it mid hunt was I was so freaking excited to see that you can give yourself a advantage by breaking specific parts

I want hunting at night to be a pseudo-horror game experience. Like, filled with a sense of dread not knowing if something is going to come out and attack you while you’re in the middle of fighting something else.

I really want to see a proper tracking and scent system. Basically like World's system but replace the scoutflies and levelling with just skill and player knowledge. Maybe make it so your palamute can track by scent but if you just run towards the monster upwind without a care in the world, it'll smell you. If it's a monster like Narga it'll wait in the trees to ambush you, but if it's something like Kulu it might run away before you get there.

Yeah the only thing with flagships, as adage pointed out, is there’s only so many monster classes that would kinda work. Like a crab on the front of the box proooobably won’t sell as much as a dragon 😂

@@cr-volcanicTbh, I think if they leaned a little bit into the frontier design mentality, a crab-like monster COULD make a decent flagship, at least for base game. Heck, World, which, like you said, is Capcom’s best selling title to date, had arguably one of the most basic flagships for the base game in the series. Although Nergigante has that “Eater of Elders title” and the regrowing and hardening spikes, compared to something like Magnamalo, Gore Magala, or even arguably Zinogre, he is pretty basic, especially considering he’s an elder dragon. Something that takes inspiration from a Japanese Spider Crab or something like that could be a flagship if its mechanics were unique and well-thought-out enough.

that's my ideal flagship, give us a snake with hunderwater combat. it sends an important message in 2 ways. 1 the skeleton is fixed so a lot of the marketing with the flagship can focus on a snake specifically doing the things they couldn't before so it sort of laughs in the face of those old limitations. that would be the most hype for me, the gloves are off for them to expand monster roster in any existing category without worrying about technical issues. 2 if it's underwater, that means they can give underwater combat the same sort of loving overhaul that 5th gen gave us as a whole. that's what i want ideally but the pattern with gens typically is odd numbers take bigger risks and the following even ones flesh out what worked in them.

Now that I’ve finished the video, I agree with literally everything. Like it’s just like you read my mind. I would love a return of underwater combat, specifically so we can see monster designs that just couldn’t be done without it or are highly enhanced by it. Like imagine an Oasis map with Tigerstripe Zamtrios swimming around the waters, it’d be wonderful.

More like hardware limitations. Kaname aimed for the highest possible graphics with lots of micro details in movements. So much that he ended up burned his own arse and asked Sony and Microsoft to send their engineers. For fine tuning the game. High chance he didn’t satisfied with underwater combat test run, and decided to discard it.

@@arapaimagold8088 It's not even that, it's the game engine. World was powered by MT Framework, which was an _archaic_ engine that powered the original Lost Planet on Xbox 360. They literally couldn't get half of the skeletons or basic behaviors to work in the engine. Rise and the new game are powered by RE Engine, Capcom's modern flagship engine, and will have no such issues.

I am beyond excited for MH6, been playing MH since the PSP days with Freedom, and World is by far my favorite game of all time, having close to 6000 hours into World and Iceborne. I'm even more excited for 6 than I was for World, because of all the new things they will implement and have learned along the way. We all have different wishlists, but man I would really love something similar of the extreme styles of Frontier to be implemented in 6, running around with your weapon unsheathed and actually parrying like Sekiro with the LS and the follow up slash after was just insane. But no matter what they come up with, I'm here for it. I also firmly believe the game will release in March, the 20th ann of MH. The shareholders already kinda spilled the beans lol. I seriously can't wait to hunt with you all.

I don’t even know what I want for the core game other than underwater combat and the last black dragons seeing how they remastered fatalis in world was amazing. And dude if you had discord hunting nights I would commit mass genocide on some monsties, that would be awesome. Edit:Akantor and Ukanlos as well obviously!

They got Fatalis done in just 4 months, with most crew worked from home during Covid. That simply show the class of Kaname Fujioka as the father of MH game. None of his underlings will be able to match his intricate work on micro details.

I haven’t watched through the video yet but I’ve replayed World recently. As someone who, for a long time, has always had a lot of problems with World and Iceborne I have to say, oh my god that game is incredible! Like it’s just so fun and beautiful. But I still must say it is the Monster Hunter game I have the most issues with. Particularly a few factors. Some of the very late game fights and sieges are just a bit frustrating particularly because they were very much made with the intent for multiple players to fight them and I play solo, so Alatreon and Safi’Jiiva are particularly upsetting to me, but I truly think a follower system would really make a big difference for me. Second, Clutch Claw, and by that I mean the Tenderizing mechanic, its just kind of not fun to me and it forces bloated health pools, just not something I want to see return. Lastly is something I haven’t heard often but oh my god the Wind Pressure and particularly the tremors in World are atrocious, like I am stumbling around like an idiot for like 7 seconds straight because Rajang put his fist on the ground with a small amount of force in proximity to me, it’s just so annoying. Avoiding an attack doesn’t matter sometimes because you’ll get hit by the tremors and be forced into taking another attack for no reason. I despise it. That being said, the rest of the game is amazing, so many monsters have never been better, the game looks absolutely gorgeous, it offers some incredible fights and the environments, my oh my, they are so alive. I love this game, I’m very harsh on it but it’s still a phenomenal game and I’m so glad it exists, I see it as a stepping stone for the series to soar to heights that no other franchise can soar to and the future looks immensely bright.

I think they should keep followers around cuz I really love fights designed with multiplayer in mind, cuz MH is a multiplayer game at its core. And followers solve the issue that players like you would have with em. Clutch claw can go away forever. And I was a big fan of the Shara armor because it was an excellent counter pick against quake and wind heavy fights

My biggest concern is on doubling down on casualization to bring even more people, who don't care about Monster Hunter being Monster Hunter, into the community. World is a great game, but the floodgates it opened haven't brought the most positive outcome.

Heyo, it's the guy who enjoys your highlighted mh videos. Just wanna say that this is a very good video about the pros and cons for the 6th generation mh game. I'm placing my bets for the 3rd generation leviathans to make they're return, like in my opinion, Royal Ludroth felt like some sort of rise/redemption for Lagiacrus and Agnaktor, but we'll see if the mh team will resume to they're work on the 3rd gen levis. And one more I gotta say....your videos are still great, peace out. ✌️

I really miss the scout flies really hope they make a return. I would love it if they reskinned the weapons' from World that were a bit lackluster. I would honestly be fine if we skipped Narga, Tigrex, Diablos, for monsters we haven't seen in a while. Kushala, Teostra and Chameleos could be switched out for a different elder group that would be a fun change

I remember entering full 16 player lobbies in World Iceborne and spending whole afternoons farming the siege dragons. All that cooperativeness is something you just can't find in Rise, or any other MH game tbh. I really hope they can provide us an experience like that again in MH6, cuz that shit was phenomenal

I think that there was way more of a cooperaterate factor before world. World was the beginning of the single player focused experience due to the difficulty scaling. Previously you would find people making lobbies for specific monsters or quests, in world people created private servers because they were forced to play online

I remember getting such a rush when going after the USJ Azure Star Lord armor and weapon that were only available, at the time, to be posted by Japanese players. I would search for streamers doing this event for american players and I would type as fast as I could to put in the room ID and password to get into the room. And then everyone would form and actual line to wait for their turn to get in the quest for the event armor. I finally got it and I still LOVE Azure Star Armor and weapon!

I've never been so hyped on a game before, even though it hasn't even been announced yet. I've been playing Monster Hunter since the first game on the Ps2 and can't wait to see what they come up with and what will be possible with the power of the next gen consoles. If they really do bring back underwater combat, I hope they also bring back Ceadeus as well (although I think it's very unlikely, unfortunately). Fighting Ceadeus with today's next gen graphics would be crazy

Just like with everything else, I don't even have any expectations for MH6. I just wait and let the people do what they want to develop. But I agree with pretty much all of your points, but in addition to that, do I not want Lagiacrus to return without underwater combat/exploration

Happen to disagree about removing more pre hunt prep. I think if there is a box on the map it should be 1 box only with a finite storage space that you have to refill using your helpers outside of hunts. Also I hate the idea of doing less prep in the hub because real life "Hunting" requires prep and a lot of it. The idea of prep prior to a quest is instrumental to the feeling of being a hunter. You're up against something you shouldn't be able to overcome but you DO because of your preparation.

I’ve been wanting a raptor elder-level monster. I know people don’t usually like the raptors but having a super strong aggressive one being on an elder dragon level would be so much fun. Something like the kirin but without the being a drag to hunt. Just love the idea of a super strong and yet smallish monster.

I played 3U after world and I have to say not being able to restock adds literally nothing to the game. Only thing came out of it was wasted time. Worst of it being capture quest and having to abandon if you messed up your trap.

I can understand that take. And I have had similar issues myself. My personal opinion is that no restock doesn't necessarily add anything, but full item restock takes some tension away. There's less fear in failure because you can farcaster out of a situation and cram your pockets fulla mega potions again. It's not impossible to fail a quest with full restock, but I kind of miss the dread of having nothing but herbs in my inventory and being out of carts and pleading with the monster to drop before I do. Only to feel that rush when I finally won. That is a feeling that I think is kind of compromised with full restock. But hey, if that doesn't necessarily appeal to you, that's cool.

I’m on board with the suggestion I’ve seen a few times for limited restock, like bringing a set number of items to restock with but only once. Then you can pick and choose what you’ll need more of. Yeah running out of traps on capture quests actually blows. If only we could craft trap tools using stuff we can pick up in the area, so we still have the chance to succeed, it’s just harder

I don't quite understand the controversy behind the weapon cosmetics in Rise/Sunbreak. Like, I get that the event quest rewards were mid but the weapon skins are just cosmetics, it didn't hurt anything or anyone. Just felt like unneeded hate towards those who don't mind spending a few extra bucks to have a nice and fancy weapon skin.

I’ll definitely agree to disagree with that. I actually don’t mind the process of getting them. I like running around in the map, but I don’t super love tying max health and stamina to pickups and I think the rainbow bird for the arenas in the endgame was an active detriment to the “hunt” aspect and reduced it to a boss rush.

Spiribirds were so close to being good, but made some grave errors in the foundation that made it all fall apart. Perhaps if the next game makes it take longer to get to the fight, then having buffs to pick up along the way would be more welcome. But that’s provided we can’t just teleport to a camp near the monster (and even if we can’t see where the monster is at the start, they still tend to spawn in the same place right?)

I would like a world 2 or something on the same scale, meaning it being on the PS5. Underwater combat and exploration. LAGI! Include palamutes and or another helper monster that helps you travel faster. Add a little more to elemental attacks in terms of variations in the amount of element you see during a hit-like making a critical elemental attack something you can see. The biggest critique I have for world was it's weapon design and I'll give them a pass for that because not all of the weapons were bad looking and everything else was just sooo very well done; don't do the take a metal weapon and put little pieces of a monster on little parts of the metal weapon-a monster's weapon looks the best the more of it's monster parts are used to make up the weapon. DO NOT do the combination monster weapons in the same manor that they did with the lunastra, nerg, and xenojiva. Refrain from making only a few end game monster weapons the best weapons to use. Event quests should focus more on awarding event armor and weapons that can be upgraded to the highest levels, not stickers, poses, or titles so much. I don't mind leaving out the running on walls that way they can focus on details in and on the land/in the water. The switch skills were what made rise enjoyable to play outside of fighting new monsters so it wouldn't be a bad idea to have that or something similar unless they plan on just making the controls very complex. And yah that's all I can think of now. And I just wanted to say it was just perfect fan service in Monster Hunter World to see a monster actually get brachydios slime on them if they were hit by it and then get damaged by the explosions. Just perfect.

I'm at 8000 hours for world and I'm getting mh6 in March. And I only play one weapon so I need something. I hated rise and was out by hr7, rise reminded me too much of handhelds mh games and I hated those. Underwater was boring and way too slow

Ill never understand the want for better graphics, but it makes even less sense for Monster Hunter. World was way to much to look at already, and im pretty sure half the fanbase was complaining about the maps. I mean if it brings more color then yeah, but otherwise no thank you. I already cant focus with the exhausting blur world has. Its really ugly too.

@@Tommytwometres What? lol No world did the whole investigation thing. Im just complaining about the excessive detail in like half the textures. Like Rabodaan, Great Girros, Val Hazak all should have been put in another region because they blend in with the overdetailed enviroments you find them in. Barioth does too to a certain extent. But like half the items in a given region were hard to farm as well because of how realistic the graphics are. I just figure if this next mh game has overdetailed graphics im gonna skip unless they actually do underwater combat. Ill suffer for a proper lagiacruz hunt.

The blur thing is my inner artist coming out. If you use blur in motion it can give a cool effect, but if you overdue it, it can ruin the point of adding detail. It can also make you sick if you see it to much. I usually get sick after playing World for more than 4 hours.

I always wanted to play Sonic Adventure. I cannot do it. I play 2 minutes, and just instant migrane from the motion in the animation.

I don’t care about the new MH game after how disappointing Rise/Sunbreak was, compared to MHGU. The modern MH art style looks soulless, bland and uncanny, they should of taken notes from Online beautiful art style. I doubt Capcom is listening, if they did Sunbreak would get Event Quest with real rewards and Collabs like the classic gamers, or fix the awful female hunter animations.

I think it's really nice that there's a new Monster Hunter RU-vidr who can talk about the feel, in an essay form, about the actual content in the game. Oceaniz does great stuff with their story-telling, people like RageGaming give us information about tips and tricks that help, and the old vanguard like Gajin have since moved on, leaving a gap. Hopefully, people like you can come in and fill that gap. Ever since I picked up MH4U after hearing about the series so long ago, I've been an avid fan, and I anticipate each new entry and what it brings with it. Knowing that there's people who have the same love as me, and have the initiative to share it always makes me happy. Here's to a new subscriber, and to more videos. I anticipate whatever comes next- though, for one suggestion, why not give Alatreon a go? It's such an unique monster that is also very decisive within the community, and it'd be interesting to see your thoughts on it.

Like bringing a monster like Nergigante back you only need a powerful elder dragon that causes trouble in your game. Like he can appear in every game because most of the time every big bad monster in the story is an elder dragon.

I’m fine with it not being on Switch, but there’s so many people who don’t want it to be ported to the Switch’s successor and that makes me pretty upset that they’re unwilling to sacrifice a smidgen of graphics and detail for the sake of letting a wider audience play. It’s not like I’m asking for it to be designed for the Switch2 and ported upwards like Rise was or anything.

In my own opinion, in game monetization is not bad as long as it gives no in-game advantage. No buying rare mats, upgrade mats, weapons/armor/charms/items. Just cosmetics/stickers/emotes. If people want to spend their money on that cool layered armor skin then that's fine.

I certainly understand the perspective and I am not one to mark all monetization at the same level of bad. My biggest issue is twofold. One, a fair bit of the rewards that should have been found in event quests were pushed behind paywalls, and two. Interacting with less egregious monetization now runs the risk of enabling worse monetization in the future. The slippery slope argument doesn’t always 100% apply but I think the big issues with game monetization in the industry is enabled by customers willing to shell out tons of money.

Rise was way worse than World with mtx, so I hope that doesn’t continue to get worse with each game to come.

I've got my obligatory list here. - More skeleton types (serpents, insects [like Seltas/Seltas Queen especially]) - A new weapon and rebalancing so all weapons are viable - Good amount of siege monsters and maybe some 8-16 player fights like in Frontier - Faster fights. This may be divisive, but I remember being able to ANNIHILATE monsters in Freedom Unite and 4U; they were defeated in the single zone I found them in. Ever since World, that hasn't happened, and I've spent hours in World/Rise chasing after low health monsters for no reason other than "immersion". "So place a trap or flash!" No, I want my mass staggers and falls back and the subsequent quick clears. An elder dragon slayer shouldn't be chasing around a lagombi. - No more tenderizers or monster riding (

I wouldn’t mind clutch claw coming back if it was more of a pseudo-mount. Like, you can hook on, but you can’t turn the monster, tenderize, or flinch shot. You just attack the monster from one of their body parts, the whole time essentially doing the mounting minigame. If you do enough stagger damage, the minster then goes into a tired or partial staggered state, upon which you could use the mounting attack for a knockdown or the redirection+flinch shot. It probably needs work, but I really enjoyed some of the clutch claw-based moves in MHWI, especially as a hammer main with the T3 charge slaw to spinning grapple.

I am looking forward to portable 6th if it builds upon the craziness of rise. I'd like a open world with different cities that are having different struggles where you can set camp in the world, season changes that bring different monsters and alter the world map, underwater land and air combat via ships and siege monsters, in towns we see different hunters but out on world exploring we can see a player for example hunting a monster and we join in to help. The biggest point for World is truly its immersive experience. Even after 1000h, whenever I see some gameplay footage, even if someone is just casually walking or sitting in the world not doing anything in particular, I LONG to go back to this truly amazing world. Granted, this was my first Monster Hunter game, so I might be a little bit biased in here, but the presentation of the game was just so different compared to Rise. Sure, World was a great game I absolutely did enjoy (most of the time, with few exceptions), but what drew me into the franchise as a whole wasn't just the gameplay, it was the world itself. As stupid as it might sound, as simple as the story was, the way the world was presented and how deep it actually did go made me fell in love with the franchise. Yes, we have a huge dinosaur that uses his tail as a blade, but you can bet your left buttcheek that there is a good damn explanation as how this works and why it works. It starts off with a "the hell is this thing (doing)?", but even without any actual background explanation of its biology, you see how it moves, how it behaves, how it reacts and on a subconscious level, slowly, it seem to make sense. Even if you don't fully understand what is going on, the the Monster Hunter team always made sure to guide you in this journey. And once you actually DO get into the research part (exploring the story/comments/journals, official information and descriptions or just by observing the monster), you get a brand new insight on how they work. And they can go truly into a lot of Detail with their consideration. Again, as stupid as some of the designs may sound (or the world in general), the Monster Hunter team truly make it one hell of a believable world. And World didn't just stop with the monsters. As the name implies, it also paid a lot of attention to the world itself. Just walking around in any of the maps in World gives you this magical, but oddly satisfying feeling. But the game shone the most when it combined it's two elements together. A Tobi-Kadachi suddenly jumping up the side tree, looking down on you menacingly, while charging up their electric fur. It's just as intimidating as it is awe-inspiring. All these things are combined made World such a great experience that grabbed me by the balls and keeps pulling me back, no matter how much time I already spent into it. And sadly, most of these elements were missing in Rise. Rise was a also great game, I've spend another 900h into this game (though a good chunk of it was also just modding it), but a lot of the magic that was present in World was missing here. Sadly, it didn't just stop with the world's presentation and the monster behaviour, but also in gameplay/combat as well. World had me pay attention to my surround, utilizing all the traps and tools I could. Rise stripped away so many layers while also giving the hunter so many more options. While World had me pay a lot of respect to those giant monsters I was hunting, in Rise it felt more like a one-sided onslaught. Sure, the power trip was pretty exhilarating at first, but after a couple of hundred hours, it became repetitive. World truly did reward you for learning the game, it's world and the monsters, while still giving you out all the tools in case you just don't want to do it. Finding a monster via Scoutflies wasn't really a huge deal (and much much better than collecting the same ol Spiribirds for the hundredths quest), but if you paid attention and learned a monsters behaviour, you could easily predict which area it might spawn it. At the end of the game, I learned most of the territories and spawns of almost every monster and barely relied on Scoutflies at all. I also knew about every trap in the world, and when it's best to use it. I even optimized and planned for my monster mounts/topples. The game truly put me in the mindset of an actual hunter. And I truly truly wish for Monster Hunter to double, no triple down on this feeling. After all, this game isn't called Monster Slayer, but Monster HUNTER.

The video title is a moot point. Every monster hunter game is memorable. Monster hunter 1 was the start of it all, monster hunter freedom unite was greater refinement of one, tri and 3 was the first games to introduce gimmicks such as underwater combat. 4 Ultimate introduced the idea of endgame monsters that are around the tier 2 mark but buffed in the frenzy, as well as mounting. Generations ultimate introduced hunter arts and styles while being a celebration of monster hunter's 10'th year. World was a massive upgrade visually and was many people's first monster hunter, and finally rise and sunbreak was one of the most fun monster hunter games to date. Sunbreak's endgame was a whole new level of difficulty, and that made it fun. That said, this whole comment's a moot point. Every monster hunter game is memorable, this one's no different.

Personally i really REALLY hope that MH6 will be available for people with not-so-beefy PCs and potatoes. I can only run World at 50FPS without frying everything! Then theres the matter of certain graphical things that can be harmful to some folks, like chromatic aberration being impossible to turn off or toned down in World. My ex couldn't play World on PC for more than 5minutes before getting a headache and nausea, similarly to me where my eyes get blurry sometimes when playing.. Hope they adress that and give us even more choices so more people can play and enjoy the games!

The RE engine is stupidly well optimized. I can max out every setting on my pc and get a completely locked 144 fps. And my pc is not the highest end out there. Even my old pc could get a locked 75 fps with maxed out settings. Idk how tf they pulled it off, but that engine is magic.

A dream would be an eleventh of march release and yes I’m confident we will get a reveal a TGS and I’m so hyped. I unfortunately never got to play MH Tri but as someone who loves drawing concept arts for specifically MH I would love to see what they can come up with, like imagine a giant squid monster or a snake wyvern with large fins that he, when on land, puts next to his head to provide him shadow and make him look like a cobra or something and I fully believe that the MH team more than anyone is now capable of refining the combat underwater to the next level. You could take the underwater movement of Horizon Forbidden West and combine it with the wirebug to allow for underwater attacks and you could get away with saying that in the new world for example there is a distant relative of the wirebug that is exclusively aquatic thus only being available underwater and allowing for some more flashy underwater maneuvers than was possible in Tri. Anyway, I think MH 6 will be a phenomenal entry into the series and by the way, I’d love to do some community hunts too. Maybe they could even introduce a new quest type, where 16 players can hunt in one quest and are split into different groups with different objectives (much like Berserk laviente in Frontier but on regular maps) one team would be composed of four hunters as usual and while one team has to for example hunt a monster that constantly targets another team trying to gather a certain mushroom, another team can set up traps for the monster or place camps (max 2) for the mushroom team to teleport to. Now obviously that’s not gonna happen but it would no doubt be really awesome to do now and then like an event. Ty so much for reading all this❤

A bit late, but I am glad to see these discussions are still happening. I’ve been playing lots of FF14 between Monster Hunter after all. And now in the same downtime as people were feeling at the end of Iceborne for the first time, I am feeling that cautious optimism for MH6 getting revealed next month, and we won’t know until we do. Whether it is another game taking place in the new world, or something else entirely, I can hardly wait to see what they can surprise us with. Though I do agree that if it’s not released to celebrate the 20th Anniversary then that’s just a missed opportunity.

I’m genuinely curious to see where the team goes with MH6, if only for the weird fluctuation in sales. MHW sold like crazy worldwide, yes, but is also sold way worse than previous entries in Japan. Rise, sadly, didn’t do much better. So I’m curious to see if the next game tries anything to win back their domestic audience. I feel like Rise was an attempt at that, as it was clearly a massive nod to their locally best selling entry, P3rd. So I’m interested to see what they’ll do with MH6. What I personally hope, albeit heavily doubt, is that they take some steps back to more methodical combat. Slower, and with more of an emphasis on positioning and timing. Imo the faster combat makes the game feel a little too generic - making it more inline with traditional hack n slash games. Obviously not fully, but more so than in the past. I’d also want a nerf on the hunter in general. Rise was fun, but I felt more like Spider-man than an actual hunter. Oh, and underwater combat please. The potential is too great to pass up. In an interview they said they wanted it in World but ended up scrapping it due to time constraints, so clearly they’re interested. Fingers crossed! Edit: Also fuck yeah, Tri was my first too! Wiimote controls were kind of cursed but I loved it anyway lol

@@fysl305 Fair, but that’s rarely how Japanese devs do things. They tend to prioritize their domestic users. I also wouldn’t say “hence world”. Like yes, World got them a ton of new users, but I doubt their intention was to leave behind their domestic audience. I can’t imagine they expected sales in Japan to do so poorly. Imo Rise’s focus on the Japanese aesthetic, and more specifically it’s callbacks to their best selling entry in Japan Portable 3rd, are clear signs that they very much want to retain their home audience. With that not having worked, I’m curious to see what happens with MH6.

I would love -- PS5, Series S/X and PC release(no previous gen consoles) -- Underwater Combat(reworked, improved) -- More monster skeletons(Leviathans, Carapaceons, Neopterons, etc) -- Returning monsters that we haven't seen in awhile(Zamtrios, Dalamadur, Ukanlos and Akantor, Lagiacrus, etc) -- More new monsters than usual -- Longer life cycle(maybe 3 years+ instead of 2? This isn't very likely, though, more of a personal wish, as well as the idea of more than 1 DLC, but again, a personal wish) -- MMO-esque sieges(8 players at once instead of 4, or additional MMO-esque features), for monsters like Kulve, Safi, Dalamadur(if he came back as a siege monster), or any other returning or entirely new siege monsters. World's sieges were already heading in this direction, and it's something I'd personally love. -- Adding more Frontier monsters(Espinas, but also others)

I want the game to be a slow power creep/power escalation, more small monsters like the Raptors family before fighting large monsters, large varieties of monsters, please no monetization CAPCOM (P2W), 16 player lobbies, city/town like gathering hub like the old days, separation of gathering/fetching quest and hunting quest in terms of progress and rewards and make it make sense to do rather than just do and forget, return of investigation quest, underwater combat (maybe) I'm on the fence with that one, because it needs to be refine, improved map pathing, like you said, some pathways are too narrow for a monster to go through, hence the limitation of monsters in WORLD, more interactable environments and endemic life, and I'm a Heavy Bowgun main, I would like to see some level of customization similar or better like in MH Tri, where you can change literally the barrel, body and stock of the bowguns, that would awesome because every bowgun main will have unique bowguns for every encounter.

IMO the potions aren't too big a deal, I'm at HR40+ and I'm finding the biggest issue to be how stingy they are with monster parts vs how many you need for upgrades, like it is fine if you stick to 1 weapon type but if you want to use multiple weapons based on the same monster... oh boy...

I just recently finished the introductory 5* Diablos Urgent, and while it could 1-shot me if Divine Blessing doesn't proc, I found the core issue to beating it was a lack of DPS as my failed runs were 90% due to time outs. Though I guess there is the caveat that I'm using bow in mhn so as long as there is no lag, I don't get hit.

All I want is less gimmicky gameplay. I like Sunbreak’s gameplay way more than Iceborne’s because I really dislike the clutch claw and the need to tenderize monsters constantly Really though I don’t want intrusive gimmicks that make fighting monsters annoying, that’s my only big wish :)

hey, fellow MHW lancer bro, yeah Rise was fun but kind of ruined lance since it was trying tot turn most weapons into LS clones. if we are getting MH's 6th gen starting on the 20th anniversary year, or even month/day as people hope, it would make sense for the reveal to be at TGS since it's likely a 6 month cycle between reveal and release. that being said, news watching Dragon's Dogma fans were hoping for it on the 10 anniversary, since an interview long before Ryozo said his top pick for an IP revival was Dragon's Dogma, which only got a teaser on the anniversary. this would make us think that the reveal would yet again be on the anniversary but Ryozo said MH fans should watch for TGS. it would be weird if they sort of blue balled fans that wanted MH and don't know much of the other IP if they said wait for MH news and it was just more coverage of another game that's already in its news cycle. not to mention that, in a published investor document for Capcom, they said that before the current fiscal year ends they'd reveal a new game so before march 2023. specifically they said they were confident that this unrevealed game would sell millions. if you are familiar with Capcom's sales, you know that the only franchises they'd be this confident in are MH and Resident Evil. this all lines up too perfectly, remember the said the game discussed in that meating was said to be revealed by the end of their fiscal year, not released by then. as to waht we will get, well in an interview within MHW's news cycle they said when refering to the discrepincies between the in game map and the map in the 3rd hunter quarters, paraphrasing, they said the map you use is roughly half of the new world. this means that they could reuse maps from MHW in MH6 while also adding many new ones to fill out that other half of the continent. i'd also love to see things that were cut from the early lagiacrus demo in MHW, please tell me the next gen consoles and dev time of 2 MH games let the meain team fix the lagi issues. give us snakes! underwater combat is just cool, poorly executed in 3rd gen yes but there's so much room for cool sea monster designs. as for the combat, just make it more fluid like 5th gen did for land. i like the idea camera influencing attack animation angles but the slow 3d movement was the issue. as early as MHW, they were discussing underwater combat coming back but they said it was cut do to time and likely also technical limitations. with that in mind, it may come back in 6th gen. yes, more open maps would make things like gammoth work perfectly.

monster hunter universe. all old and new maps the size of world maps. having all zones having fast travel camps+ all connected, for us to run manually to. basically star field of monster hunter but also MMO Eggs+Pets=ride mounts Raids participation the size of frontier, and not how world did it that was such a disappointment .
