I'm more hyped about that Congalala taking on a Deviljho, we know who's going to win that fight, but still, it's amazing that a Congalala has the balls to take on a Deviljo, must be part Rajang.
Canonically you don’t repeat hunts, your hunter gets all the necessary materials from one hunt to make the armour and weapons. But if Capcom did it like that the gameplay would become rather stale quickly. Edit: think about it you hunt some monsters 3-8 times just to make a helm or pair of gloves, that’s a huge waste that goes against the guild’s beliefs and tenants. You’d lose your hunting license for that kind of thing in best case, worse being declared as a poacher (exiled or hunted if deemed a threat).
I have huge respect for aiden. After a crap ton of monster hunter series, he is the first npc to actually help you in a monster hunt. The rest are just cheer leaders
Totally. He's not afraid of using new weapons, he's not arrogant as Commander and even got revenge from Kushala Daora and made his set. He and Gunner are carrying that team
And that other time when all the ace hunters fought a rusted kushala with you in 4u. Also Aiden used a lot of lifepowder in both the kushala and fatalis quests which was probably a reference in iceborne.
This is how it's done. Village kid a novice hunter starting on the velociprey, gain experience while gathering other hunters, make gear for the elder dragon, and then fight the Elder Dragon. It's a simple hero's journey, but this is Monster Hunter, I can get behind this.
Level experience is not important in Monster Hunter. All you need is Strong Weapons and Equipments, lot of Potion and tool(Bom, Traps, Sharpen Knife, and other Drugs Buff). Other necessary items is like Cool drink, Hot Drink, and tranquilizer.
@@ahmadyulyfirmansah5937 Actually, it is. But not for the character, but for the player. Learning how to deal with different monsters, learning how and wich to use, mastering your weapon. You don't just upgrade your gear, but your knowledge too~
@@SatoshiKuroneko that what I mean. Also cat is very important to. They do level up, and Increased our winning chance. Not much, but sometimes can give us Buff, and slow down Enemy.
Why did anyone expect anything from a Paul W.S. Anderson movie in the first place? That guy only makes garbage movies so he and his wife can travel around.
Even though this turned out not so good according to ratings, this is way more faithful than the live action movie and it's exactly what fans wanted from a monster hunter movie, it's like they listened to the criticisms of the live action one
@@AERIFAE Yea i know who Zuko is, i haven't looked up who voices of this is. i was going off what i heard, welp guess Zuko's hunting dragons now like his ancestors. XD
Aiden going from hunting Velociprey to hunting a Lunastra. Even later hunting Fatalis. He is a way more interesting character than I thought he would be.
@@iceran9622 He is definitely on-par with the various player characters, that's for sure. Walks out in Hunter armor to save his teammate from Gore Magala, and only needs you to distract it. Walks in front of a Black Dragon, unflinchingly, and helps you deal with it. Dude has balls the size of wrecking balls and the skill to back it up.
not for me and my people.... the feel of the first monster hunter game has been completely lost with the release of the sequels. granted it will please those later fans but it lacks the serious feel of the original game, something that really bothered me about MHW, the story was terrible and most of the characters are close to unbearable.
@@SKC-uc7rw Played the OG MH on the PS2, then MHFU on the PSP. What are you talking about? MHW is pretty much welcome. My most played game in 2019-2020.
@@New3DSLuigi364 I said nothing that even remotely relates to streamlining. I'm saying the game lacks any serious tone story wise. Confused by your response. I liked the gritty feel of the first game in which the people of the village were afraid for their lives because a dragon is heading their way and you can help in trying to save the village. Story. Nothing to do with streamlining. Streamlining is more to do with actual game play mechanics.
Netflix is proving to be the best company when it comes to converting video games to Movies/Tv Shows, not like the other UTTER GARBAGE Hollywood did with Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Hitman, Assassin's Creed and of course Super Mario Bros
Julius: "One does not take a monster's life lightly. To do so would betray the balance of nature." Me, slaying whatever moves in guiding lands to level up biomes: 😬👉👈
Well i haven't watched the anderson movie but at least they didn't put that "the monster is destroying nature" shit take into the trailer.. the anderson movies trailer and sneak peek gave a film so bad that it's good vibe and didn't go to that animal bad, hunter good conservative political fantasy.. this movie looks like it's taking itself way too seriously kinda like that film series with the smart genetically modified sharks that somehow would destroy the world if they were able to avoid genocide..
@@renarddubois940 i've watched the Anderson MH movie and i can tell you 100% that it is not "so bad that it's good". it's just bad. this trailer beats the whole movie already.
@@renarddubois940 The entire film wasn't bad in a good way at all, it was both bad and boring. Absolutely nothing about it was fun to watch. Also did you not hear the line that literally followed the Ace Cadet saying that Lunastra is "destroying nature?" It's obviously going to be more nuanced than 'animal bad hunter good,' you know, like how it is in the games. Where an entire civilization is known to have been destroyed because they took advantage of monsters to gain immense power. Everything you believe is bad is what actually happens in the Anderson movie. It takes itself waaaaaaaaay too seriously, the monsters that show up are nothing but big bad beasts that murder people for no reason, etc etc.
@@renarddubois940 Please bear in mind that "the monster is destroying nature" take is coming from the kid on this trailer who appears to know little about the monsters' nature(elder dragons in particular), then followed by the hunter saying that "our balance with nature is more delicate than you think" showing his knowledge. This is just a case of a kid thinking of saving his village from an elder dragon migrating. Which is similar to the mainline quests in the MH games.
Wow. As a kid i imagined them actually doing this. I'm proud of netflix and their smarts, they actually probably watched the CGI from the older games and had the same vision I did as a kid. All Monster Hunter fans know that this art style their using is similar to those cgi intro movies from the games !
@@Spinopik colour isn't everything on felynes, I would wager it's a palico and not a melynx due to being chill around hunters, if that was a melynx it'd be stealing their ancient potions
@@aphato2770 I mean from the mad hops he's got when changing zones I'm not surprised Congalala can knock a Deviljho on it's ass. After that however... RIP Congalala
Finally a monster hunter movie that deserves to have the name "Monster hunter". Am I right or am I right? This is nice because my home just got destroyed and at least I have a lil bit of nice news. It's the flooding of Germany and Belgium btw if you wanna find out. A tragedy
Hey it turns out, actually sticking to the source material and giving fans what they want is a good thing! Sorry, I'm still hurting after the Monster Hunter movie....
This is a love gift from capcom. I know it's rushed but it has so much heart and citations from all games. The "balance" thing that destroyed everything back then told in the Fatalis story in Freedom, the Ace Hunters from 4, tha same set Aiden had in early MH4 and everything. Love it so much.
I'm sold solely for these reasons: - Aiden started his first weapon with bow instead SnS, smh. - *Seeing Lunastra in disctance* Hell, I can't deal with that monster alone, *fires SOS flare* - Butterfly armor in a hunt, completely goofy in a real life hunt, absolute awesomeness in MH games - Talking Palicos - Aiden stays in his character from his game - You can ride kinsects!!?? - Nerscylla: Superior to live action Edition
Fits the pun filled writing of the games. Moreover if it’s the original MH4U team handling things here, it might not be another mishandled Netflix adaptation.
This is sooo good! Game accurate without seeming forced or cheesy. I wish this was a full series! Come on Netflix order a series, or sequel! Same team they did sooo good. Way better than the live action movie
Watching it now: the PS2 cutscene graphics are okay, it's just that the animation takes time to get used to. People said that bringing soldiers in the *****y movie was a way for audiences not familiar with the world to relate to the protagonist. This movie definitely proves that the soldier-isekai was a stupid idea. Hoping for a sequel but with better animation! Turning this into a series would be even better!
This is aidens indoctrination into becoming the ace cadet. This is how he met the ace comander(julien) and the others. He was saving his village from a lun-asstra. This is what monster hunter is, also I'm scared of how congolala just made pickeljho eat dirt. I even saw a tetsucabra in here! Oh you bet your bottom zenny I'm hyped.
When I saw them, I genuinely smiled. 4U was my favorite game to play before World came out. And to see the guild crew actually speaking instead of making vague noises is even better lol.
Literally my favorite part of any Monster Hunter story, I love these guys so much. I'm curious who the new Rhopessa armor girl is, and why there's five of them. Hope the Ace Lancer makes it in too, though in the games they did say he's not always with the Ace Hunters.
@@YoBlackCatYo Uh oh. She’s never been seen before. Because she’s not the Ace Lancer and this is the beginnings of 4U’s Ace Hunters, what if she... is actually Aiden’s sister?
Water, Earth, Fire, and Big Weapons... All parts of the ecosystem were living in harmony, but everything changed when the Elder Dragons attacked. Only the Grind, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, a no-lifer named Grinder. And although his BIG WEAPON skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Grinder can't save the world, he needs a few more materials...
@@uuddlrlrabsmhm8430 Actually, Alatreon would fit the Avatar. Only Alatreon, master of all 4 elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished.
Can i say how smart the plot setup is. There is an elderdragon coming and there unpreperd and how does a hunter prepere by killing more monsters and getting better gear. Meaning we get a lot of monsters lot of action and lot of ecolagy everything the movie needs. It doesnt need a super intrgete ploy
I don't understand, why aren't they using guns and part of the US army? Also I get the feeling this doesn't take place on earth. Honestly as a regular human person from earth land, I just can't relate to these characters at all. I don't see this being very successful
Maybe, we will see. Honestly the story is probably fine the way it’s sounding without throwing some MH twist at the end that MH fans all get but the average movie goer just goes huh?
@@frostburnwoof really? Srsly? Omfg, that makes me feel like I'm a professor on Monster Hunter who still discovers new things even after all these years of playing MH from 3U
Netflix: ‘Designing a kid as the lead character is gonna be tough, how should we do it?’ Sony: ‘The Netflix team is playing an awful lot of God of War lately…?’ 👀
from Ace Cadet to Exciteable A-list Hunter, we finally got a real name. Although in MHW the General did mention his name and his mentor's name, the game still treat it as nameless guy anyway.
Trouble is a movie has a lot less time to tell a story than a series does, though the tone we see here is still what they should have been going for, even if they kept the general plot similar.
This was how the movie is supposed to be. This is how the real monster hunter should be because it is a way of life and it's an ecosystem and not some crappy military and save the world plot.
Za warudo ummm nope this monsters could end the *WARUDO* they live in alongside with the ecosystem so the plot is pretty much similar and thats hunting and killing monsters that includes the *YOUNGLINGS* and of course earning some good points after the hunt.
@@christineking8183 In my perspective as a monster hunter fan, I was looking forward to see a movie that will reflect the world of Monster Hunter. But the movie made on 2020 was not that bad IF you just want a movie with humans going to another world and fighting monsters. I get your point. That movie has great details for monsters. But that movie didn't represent the Monster Hunter game itself. It was a movie on its own and not about the game when the description of the movie is "based on the video game series of the same name by Capcom". It was disappointing for me as a monster hunter fan. I just said "some crappy military and save the world plot" because I was comparing the plot to the game. They said the reason they made that movie is to create a live action film that will let you feel the world of this game which didn't happen. If you enjoyed the movie then it's fine, nothing wrong with it. And one question: Did you ever play monster hunter?
@@zawarudo384 no but I am very fond of the Felynes or Palicos (which is their occupation also they are super cute!), Melynxes, Grimalkynes and the palamutes (or canynes).
