It's the difference of professional cinematography I suppose, the compositions of the shots just seem better and more intentional whereas with the remake you can tell it's a remake.
I think the main issue with the remake just comes down to the original animators having a better grasp of the anatomy and weight of the creatures. The remake is good, but it still need polishing, the MH team are insanely good at making ecology cutscenes and animations
the blurring effect in the original hides the polygons somewhat creating an elusion of it being somewhat real so higher resolution makes it to obviously gamey + lighting and shading those are a lot more important actually lighting accounts for 60% of our perception of graphics
You know The original is old and render from ps1 or so right ? The higher resolution is just make later by fan so of course it not as good. Cap com not gonna gonna make it that low resolution if it release today
@@ngocthuanhoang6083 have you missed the point where i sad the original looks beater because of fog effect and lighting and i know it is from PS2 i plaid that shit
@@damirgilmutdinov4028 nah I don't miss that. I just deny your point. Point being, there are a lot more go to the animation than just that. The right side can add more of that like you said and it doesn't make it as good, still. There are a lot of subtle movement, timing, that make the monster move more natural and lively.
The remake was good but, noticeably lacking a few things. First off, the lack of motion blur. It would take a while to figure out the keyframes to implement a fade in for a focus object for the camera to use while fading everything else out of focus but, not impossible to fix. Secondly, the lack of dust particles or the use of particle generators. Everything looks too clean, it feels like it lacks impact partly because of the lack of dust getting kicked up in the action like the original. I did notice some particle effects being used for some fog, it probably wouldn't be too much more taxing on a system for some simple dust particles. Thirdly, nothing interacts with the environment. The water doesn't ripple in response to monsters drinking or the turtle hiding. The grass doesn't move in response to the monsters, either. Perhaps, it could be fixed but, the time to get fluid rendered accurately and adding a few grass models with animation skeletons could add a decent amount of time for the final render especially for the fluid render alone. However to be fair, one person doing this animation would probably take a few days to render unless they have like 4 computers with similar specs rendering 1/4 of the frames each. TL;DR The remake intro was a good effort by one person but, it could be better. + Some ideas I had to improve the remake intro based on a couple years of dabbling with Blender. As for anyone who asked for my wall of text comment. No one did, you can simply ignore it. I'm not forcing you to read.
Well said! It's good for a remake, however you really got it right with what seems off. I personally noticed the lack of the ripple from the turtle retreating, afterwards those deeper details became more noticeable.
I love all the effort in the remake, but the OG opening is so warm and natural, even in today's standards. The lack of contrast is what bogs down the remake honestly. The rathalos looks a bit more weird in the original but his movement was very heavy and strong.
The OGs blurry effect gives it that atmosphere that the remake doesnt give off. I prefer the original but the remake makes the models look cleaner. Just ad some type of more advanced blur effect or wven put some type of settled fog here and there especially around the pod, thst would look amazing
My friend, the quality of the remake was the efforts of just one person testing their skills in modeling and animating this alone. It is true that it doesn't live up to the quality of the original but, that is also the difference between a hobbyist and a team of people who's livelihoods depend on making a good game.
The higher resolution does look nice, but the fog of the first one makes the environment fit much more. In the remake, the area just looks boring as hell, while it just looks like a wide open grassland in the original
The original has that blurry look and you cannot be sure if the image was taken on an old camera and animals look alive. While the remake is clearly a video game. Now I'd much rather play the remake due to my eyes not agreeing with anything that isn't crisp. But i can see people sticking to the original just for the illusion of realism
can imagine how fun it most have been to work on getting to look so frightful and definitely a great project to learn from, but gotta say it may be more HD but the animations, the particles and the post-processing make things look allot more realistic, especially with the lower resolution. Over all Id say the remake looks too clean tbh.
The original is 100% better with the blur effect almost giving the herd a Walking with Dinosaurs quality. It’s especially better when you get to the hunters and see how they move
basicly better graphic, thats it the better graphic makes it rather more unnatural looking for some reason and the remake version also lack of some light and reflection effect thats also a big minus imo
One of my favorite clip, the original was the best on it's time.. i was laughing so hard when the greatswod just bouncing and not even scratch rathalos 😂😂.. thanks for the offort of remaking 😊👍
well of course the remake doesn't look as good, its using in game models trying to compare that with a pre-rendered animation with high resolution models and better particle physics is a little unfair
I dont think the monsters were mocapped. I think its simply no grain filter, worse lighting, no dust, and professional 3d animators understand the weight of creatures better
The Remake is bad at rendering, good in resolution. The originl is Good at rendering, bad in resolution. After all, remember how we stand unite against our first Rathalos? Long live, Fellow Hunters
I think this comment section is too much into pin-pointing what is wrong or not good enough in the remake instead of greeting it to exist, since it as been made in the first place by only ONE GUY to comemorate the orignal for Monster Hunter's anniversary and not to top it at all, and was made for fun too!
true, but i respect the remake for trying to replicate the opening. I hope he uses some effects to make it seem more realistic then just better resolution and models but thats just my opinion 👍
Well of course it is sfm-like animation since it's made by only one guy : Tea Common Shark, a monster hunter fan-animator, for fun and for comemorating the original for the anniversary of the saga. It as never been made to top the original since the Og have been made by dozens of professionnals animator...
