The dragon the crew of warriors hunted was indeed a Zorah Magdaros, whose energy and flesh became nutrients for the Frost Islands' ecosystem once they successfully killed it. However, there are some things that I wonder about the Frost Islands. Someone erected a shrine atop Zorah's skull that seems to have happened long after the dragon had decomposed. Also, various shrines are hidden away in caves and alcoves all around the area, implying that this may tie in with the events of the Shrine Ruins. Finally, we have to address the elephant in the room: that structure in the northwestern corner of the map. What is it? Was it a small castle or perhaps the remains of another ship whose crew perished before the one mentioned in the records? Finally, why was that Zorah Magdaros here of all places? Was it in the middle of an Elder Crossing long ago and the warriors intercepted it, much like what happened in World? Certain quests mention a village or large civilization just outside the locale. Did the warriors slay the Zorah Magdaros on this island because it would've otherwise destroyed the civilization on a nearby island? We may never know the truth as any clues had been lost to time and frost.
Whoever the people are who erected the shrine across Frost Islands, they more than likely had similar backgrounds to the people in Kamura Village, or even Yukumo Village. They could also be possible residents of Shrine Ruins before the area was struck down by the "Gods"
The descriptions of those monsters in the records that were left behind by the survivors of the zorah magdaros battle were absolutely terrifying. The monster hunter universe could be a good setting for a horror game. Imagine a Goss horag with his bloody ice blade just walking menacingly towards you. It could provide insight on how terrifying it is to be just a normal villager lost out.in the wilderness with bloodthirsty monsters watching you at every moment.
Considering the MH Dev team used the RE Engine from Resident Evil's dev team, I can actually see this as a possibility. Suddenly I want a Goss Harag cameo on Resident Evil Village
My guess on why the monsters got more aggressive was because they were competing for feeding sites on the zorah Magdaros like how animals in the real world compete for feeding sites when a large animal (such as a whale or an elephant) dies
The series has showcased plenty of times that monsters, especially Tempered and Arch-Tempered, would go out of their way to absorb bioenergy, so this is possible! Base World stated that many of the monsters discovered along the way were ones that became active since the bioenergy of Zorah Magdaros became present!
I love your content, we don’t get enough people covering monster hunter the way you do. However, one thing I feel you should watch out for and work on as you grow is that you often repeat yourself on unnecessary statements. You often have sentences that sound different but are virtually the exact same. Keep up the good work and continue growing your channel!
Maybe the Zora Magnaros's reason for being there has to do with another monster? Its not the only titanic Monster we see inhabited... or I should say inhabits that area, as there is another one we can see ocassionally at the far reaches of the icy shores...
The messages never fully made it clear as to where the Zorah was headed, or what it was really up to, so there's definitely an open interpretation as to what the monster would be up to at that time!
@@ChronoPinoyX it could've just been too close to a village or something, they tend to live in the ocean which means the frost islands was most likely where it lived at the time.
Imagine being one of the first people to see a Goss Harag and having no idea what it is. It’s upright posture. It’s uncanny human like movements. That must have been a horrid sight to see
I wonder where all the Bioenergy of Frost Islands' dead monsters (not necessarly only Zorah) ends up. It's Coral Higlands equivalent I mean. (Maybe Deserted Island? It tecnically was supposed to have an enourmous Coral Reef) Also I wonder its connection with the Tundra considering that both areas are supposed to be islands within the Island District area and on both areas the sea is visible on the right side. Generally speaking, Frost Islands looks like a Flooded version of the Tundra, so maybe it might be Tundra in another season, or maybe destroyed and Flooded after the battle with Zorah? Also this map is too much spot-on for Rotten Vale monsters, so I think that they probably made the map for including them in early developement, but they had to cut them at some point (like how they did with Zamtrios, come on it's clear as the day that Zamtrios and Odogaron where originally planned but got cut).
I'm also curious about where all that bioenergy ended up. There's possibility that it doesn't end up anywhere and just disperses across the vast seas, but at the same time, it's essentially a frozen graveyard like you said, so it's basically Frozen Rotten Vale. As for connection with the Tundra, I've yet to see whether there's any geographical link between them. With Capcom not providing a fully developed map, I can only assume it's either close to the Tundra region or Frozen Seaway. Depending on how Capcom approaches future title DLC and possible expansion, we might see more of those existing monsters in the area. Not sure on Odogaron, but definitely a Zamtrios needs to be there
Yey! I was waiting for this... since I saw the bridge with bones I got curious and very timely since, I'm hunting on the area as of writing this comment.
@@ChronoPinoyX there's a skull in the center? OMG! I did not noticed that I havr been hunting on that map, when I wrote that comment but I have not seen the skull only the bone bridge huhuhuhu
@@bluesdesignstudio Might not feel like a skull at first glance, but yeah, the large skull with the Dragonator right on its head is from Zorah Magadaros!
I have a theory that the Frozen Islands might have been the Tundra from 3 Ultimate due to a few key zones looking similar. As a result of the Zora Magdoros attempting to cross over to the new world, the area has been shattered and melted down into various land masses due to this elder crossing. Its likely that these were Moga hunters sent to stop the Zora's progression so the ecosystem and surrounding villages weren't obliterated by the crossing, but the battle, clearly, wasnt an easy one. In the end, the Tundra was practically leveled, and the lakes of solid ice had all but disappeared, now all that's left is scarred cliffs, freezing temperature's, and pools of water left behind in place of the tundra's ice lakes
You can actually see that the ship has a dragonator protruding out of underneath the bow of the ship and it has one missing, as the description in the relic messages.
