Playthrough | Part 17: Navirou's Revelations
We're still in the Dover Volcano but it's here where we head into Dr. Manelger's lab.
It's also here we learn of Navirou's origins. To tell you the truth, I never got this far on the 3DS version so this is a new experience for me. Turns out Dr. Manelger is more sinister than we thought. He wants to use the hero's kinship stone as a means to control even the strongest of monsters. Not only that but Navirou was part of a group of experimental Felynes that was able to escape and lose his memory.
We would end up facing off against EX versions of monsters that Manelger would capture and outfit armor with. But the big threat at hand is an Angator EX. We're forced to take it down. Agnator EX can attack more than once but has breakable pieces: the head and tail. Taking them down can help alleviate things. It's a tough foe and can take a few tries.
But Manelger doesn't know when to quit. He tries to take us down only for Ratha to take the brunt of the attack. Navirou, angry is ready to take him down but his Felyne allies come in and use their tank to deliver a powerful strike. This beats them and they retreat. In doing so, the volcano gears up to erupt so they need to get out. They do but Ratha ends up corrupting due to the Blight, forcing Lute to return it to normal with the Kinship Stone.
Suddenly Cheval and his Rathian appear wanting to take Ratha down. So we got to teach him a lesson. This fight is scripted so don't worry about losing. Cheval heads off, warning us that if it happens again, he will take Ratha down. We learn from Aviana that Rathian is sad and in pain. Something ain't right. Seriously.
We're heading to a new place in Part 18 but it also means we have much to do.
