Not to mention, Jeff literally said he didn't need to do a intro for the game by saying "I'll let it speak for itself" indicating they expect great things for this game

You seemed to have misinterpreted the literal statement. Jeff said he didn't need to provide an introduction for this game. Meaning people would know what game it is before the trailer/cinematic would even end. I'm sure most people (myself included) have very high expectations for this game, but let's not read further into statements. When Jeff made this statement, he spoke as someone who was aware of what the trailer is for and has more than likely watched the trailer prior to its official reveal.

What i'd really really REALLY want from this MH, would be for the world to be even more alive and "functional". Example, you have your hub/city, there are other hunters around, perhaps characters, perhaps just questgivers. What if while you are out hunting, i don't know, a Rathalos, you find one of theese hunter npcs who's hunting a Tobi Kadachi. the two monters have a turf war and go their separate ways, the hunter approaches you and asks you to help him with his prey. so you pause your objective and team up to fight a already weakened monster for bonus items. after this the hunter joins you in YOUR hunt. i'd love to have this kind of events to happen once in awhile during quests.

There's definitely a lot of info packed into the logo this time around. It seems they've chosen rings/circles as their conceptual theme for this game, with the reflection under WILDS suggesting water and the circles around it reminiscent of ripples from raindrops falling on the water's surface. That could be a hint about the huge artificial rock formation in the distance, a ripple from something crashing deep down into the earth. Possibly the dark "abyssal" serpent in the logo, counter to the white "heavenly" serpent flying upward. I think you're right about the white serpent holding some kind of egg, and I'm thinking the four smaller serpents around them are their living children (each one with an element? fire, water, thunder, ice). We could end up trying to stop the birth of the final (dragon) progeny in the egg, something that could combine with its siblings Voltron-style to wreck the world. Just spitballing here!
@allenwalker7799
@allenwalker7799 9 месяцев назад
The logo could also be hinting at a theme of a cycle of rebirth as the circles especially the ones in the logo are similar to ouroboros which is a symbol representing an infinite cycle of destruction and rebirth and the center of the logo supports this with the 8 pattern with an egg inside but that’s just my take on it

I think the game will still have a main hub area, but the maps/biomes themselves are not separated by loading screens anymore. They just naturally blend from one biome to the next. Making it one big, "open world" map. We most likely still need to make main story progress to gain access to other areas. Kind of like the Guiding Lands from MHW(orld), but bigger. The only loading screen is going to be when going to & from the main hub. You still have the same mission structure/loop that Monster Hunter is known for, but now we can set up camps around the maps (that probably act as our checkpoints due to how big the maps are this time around) that we can fast travel to & possibly "respawn" at when we get stomped into the ground. The camps will have basic functions like cooking, changing gear & resting to change time of day (weather as well, maybe?). While at the main hub you go to craft new gear, upgrade gear, talk to NPCs & pick up side quests/main quests to progress the main story. It feels like the weather is going to play a much bigger role in this game. So much so that it will change the way the biomes look & function. And possibly even affecting hunts/monsters, giving us an advantage/disadvantage while hunting them. Like, i imagine if it's raining and the monster becomes drenched, lightning attacks will be much more effective. But, that goes for us as well, if we're fighting a monster that uses lightning. It just feels like the biomes are going to be very, very big. Take into consideration the fact that there will definitely be underground areas (such as caves) & the fact that we now have a mount that can jump and fly/glide. It seems like a bigger emphasis on verticality as well. Speaking of our new bird friend, i imagine that it's going to be very useful during hunts. Not only because we can run faster with it, whether to chase after monsters or to run away from monsters (more likely lol). But with the added flying/gliding & jumping, we can probably attack from the air more effectively as well. We can probably jump off of our mount in mid air to either get on top of a large monster and attack it, or maybe we jump off of it to do an attack on said large monster or maybe we can use it to just dodge out of the way. Either way, it's just exciting to think about. Imagine fighting a Dalamadur sized monster in the desert biome, while riding on top of your mount. With the mount's ability to jump and stay in the air, you can hop off the mount in mid air and land on top of the monster to attack or climb further. Imagine doing all of that with your friends.

If that is an egg in the logo, and the two main heads are the same creature (and maybe all of the smaller heads as well) that could imply that the final boss of this game is something we encounter from infancy to full maturation. I think the game will be about a hunter sent by the research commission to investigate the north of the new world, past the elder’s recess. This would explain why we have a sleeping bag and tools carried by our mount, as we likely won’t have a main hub if that is the case. Maybe we will also see base building like in wild hearts, with tents that allow us to save the game progress or cages for endemic life to gain various benefits or just for looks. Also hope that the world will be much more than just desert, but that’s likely true since it would be wrong to have an open world game with only one environment. Overall I’m very hyped for the game. Curious if they show us other teaser videos and images between that massive gap between now and summer 2024, and obviously even more in-depth trailers between summer and the release… in 2025

Yes! Not spoken about in this video but if you look closely in the end shot of the map you can see different biomes. From left to right it looks like forrest, mountains, chasms (under the "Wilds" letters), vulcano (distance right) and desert.

I doubt it's further north, due to the desert area. I think it's either another island southeast of the guiding lands or on the other parts of the hinterlands-continent, with the other side going southwest, explaining the desert. Or perhaps, but probably the least likely, another area on the continent of Fonron, which has discovered areas like the great forest and the tower.
@KsnypsAdventures
@KsnypsAdventures 9 месяцев назад
@@Doomguyhunter1 a Desert doesn’t exclude the game taking place in the north. For all we know, the new world isn’t located in the northern hemisphere of whatever planet MH is taking place on, and looking at the diversity of biomes in the new world (desert to the east and ice to the west) it is possible that there are deserts past the elder’s recess. Fonron is a good guess, since it is specified that the continent hasn’t been explored in depth by the guild, but from the trailer it seems that wilds will have a lot less ancient civilization ruins, which would exclude Fonron. The only exception are the lightning rods, but they could just be mineral formations that attract lightning naturally
@Doomguyhunter1
@Doomguyhunter1 9 месяцев назад
@@KsnypsAdventures well, the new world does seem to be at the same altitude as the old world, though maybe a bit more south. The wildspire waste and ancient forest are likely at around the same altitude as the more southern regions of the old world, while the coral highlands are at the altitude of areas like Shrade and the hinterlands and the elder's recess at the altitude of areas like Furahiya (northern regions like the frost islands and the frozen seaway) The new world also does get colder further north. The coral highlands is colder than the ancient forest and wildspire waste and the hinterlands are futher north and are the coldest. The elder's recess is only really hot due to the volcanoes. The desert also has significant greenery, which doesn't appear even at the altitudes of the hinterlands and coral highlands, which makes it seem like it's more on the the altitude of the ancient forest and wildspire waste, which does support the theory of an area on the hinterlands, but further southwest.

i still have my doubts, sure the maps will be massive but nothing in this map givves vibes of being multi biome. to me it looks just like your first map but just massive so there will be a bunch of other maps that are just as massive. to me, that's much more exciting anyway. MHW had early concept art for Akantor in the Elder's Recess but there's no way in hell he'd fit in the map we got so he got cut. now, oh you better believe that if we see a volcano map he'll fit and an ice map will easily fit Gammoth and Ukanlos. we may have all the fated 4 together again in a game. hopefully, all of them with fun new subspecies like acidic glavenus. no violet mizu doesn't count. he's a rare species, the only one to exist before his base monster got a subspecies.

Your theories sound super solid. The idea that you can swap 2 weapons and have a extra inventory of items on the mount is awesome. It does fix the issue that is being able to restock. I think the core issue with rise was the feeling of not feeling like you have to prepare for a hunt. This seems to be enforcing the need to prepare for a hunt and I love that. Also I believe we will be able to set up camps or something so we can come back to after carting and probably chose quests from as well. I just hope those potential camps don't allow for you to fully restock your items and you actually have to go back to the hub before or after hunts. I been seeing a lot of people scared of open world MH but based on these likely cases it already seems like capcom has it in the bag. The game looks awesome.

You have a lot more reasonable speculations on things than some of the other YTers i've seen. One thing that may lend credence to your idea that the serpent in the logo is just two depictions of the same monster is the reflective quality of WILDS, and the way it is revealed is almost like water drops. I think being an intrepid explorer in a new land _before_ the guild shows up would be really cool.

One problem with the "two weapons swapping" theory is armor skills. Altho since we already see that there's 2 different weapons already in the trailer, I wonder if they changed something with the skill system of the game. One of the few things they could do is: 1) The weapon swap changes the armor. Weird to see in game if your armor just changes instantly, 2) You only change the weapon, so you have to theorycraft some armor set that benefits both weapon types (not too hard to do, but if you're going elemental swapping like in the example in the video, could be a hassle) or 3) They completely revamp the skill system so some skills are tied to the weapon instead of the armor (this is the more elegant solution, and opens up the possiblity of armor being mostly defensive boosts while weapons are where your offensive skills come from). Disclaimer: Even if the trailer showed off another weapon on the mount, it is still technically NOT yet confirmed that it will be a feature. Everything is still speculation for now. However, the scope clipping out of the weapon satchel kinda convinces me because that's a very MH-like thing to happen.

Just speculations here, when the "MH Wilds" title and icon shows up, it has a rippling effect/shapes coming up. Might be a hint of having a significant water environment this time. To further support this thought: 1. On the MH Wilds 6-wyvern-head logo, there are many smaller circles spreading across the logo and especially near the bottom large circle, which somewhat represents air bubbles. Not sure what's exactly in the centre of that circle represents yet though, could be something as significant as the Sapphire star on the MH World logo 2. The font of "WILDS" having a water-ish reflection underneath 3. IIRC, this is the first time we have a downward diving wyvern head in the title logo

So I’m betting our snowy area will be like a mountain Kilimanjaro type location, that we actually have to access by transitioning lands until we reach the mountain. So here's my take on the logo. The two heads are clearly different, one is green and the other is yellow. This could symbolize a duality with the way they are opposing like yin and yang. Perhaps they are 'twin' elder dragons that represent the cycle of life. The green one symbolizing life and the yellow one next to what seems to be an egg symbolizing death and rebirth. This could all tie into how they show the drastic changes in weather and the desert changing from barren to lush. Maybe the twin elder dragons clashing is what causes such extreme weather.

I wrote this also in gaijin's video, and I was also thinking of MGSV at the time; It would be fun if we could shot flares and asks for supplies from Mother Base, and have the cats deliver it. I also agree that there are some hi-tech motive present in the trailer here's my addition: There are lightning rods dotted the landscape, but not all of them are upright some of them are slanted, like some kind of ruins; remain of what was built before our time On the other hand it could be also built by us and then slanted quite recently And we're here to investigate/repair it. Wasn't exactly a strong case, and could still go either way here's a bit more stronger case: If you take a look at the logo, especially the 2 serpents in the middle, the upper part of the logo, the motive on the serpents body looks tribal, albeit a bit simplified the lower part of the logo however, the motive looks downright like an alien tech So, we have what is most likely and open world game, with the word "wild" on the title, ability to glide, and a suspected ancient hi-tech motive. Let's hope sharpness and whetstones will still be a thing, and not, you now, ... breakable weapons

this game is giving me the vibe of you are more surveying territory/ new land than hunting specific monsters corral into a hunting zone, your territory, now with this new game you are hunting them in THEIR territory. Also on the logo, the dragons look like your typical eastern dragons, which means SNAKE WYVERN BOX ART MONSTER YYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!!!!!

Its true that not a lot of definitive gameplay was shown, but just looking at how vast the environments seem to be, how unshackled from the typical battle arena formula this is. That small detail alone makes it intriguing to think about how different just the monster fights are going to be. And that’s one singular observation. What the fuck is this game gonna be man?

Stupid theory: The very start of the trailer is close to the start of the game itself. The Dragon/Wyvern that destroyed this old civilization decided to do it again and picked yours this time, and everyone needed to flee to the wilds, either with the task of merely surviving, or finding out about the monster using info from the fallen civilization and ways to defeat/stop it. You're a reasonably experienced hunter and went alone, making you one of the first to arrive, and as the game progress, allies and old friends will arrive to further help you in your hunt.

It would be one of the coolest things if Monster Hunter returned to form with having to think about preparation, and having your companion carry a limited extra pool of items is probably the PERFECT compromise between having JUST your resources and having ALL your resources. And with an open world setting & focus on intense weather change, I can totally see hot & cold weather being a tangible thing that you must prepare for properly. If nobody complains about heat/cold prep in something as accessible as BOTW, then surely the game about hunting and survival can afford to do it too 🤣 I definitely think there will be some sort of focus on the ancient civilisation this time round. They have been ever-present as a concept throughout Monster Hunter, but only aluded to through certain locations, gear & flavour text. The logo also has a distinct "circuit" patterns going through it. The idea of a more down to earth, nomadic Monster Hunter title sounds like such an amazing experience. Being able to travel the rich world & actually feel like a part of it will be so fulfilling. I do truly hope the MH team has taken into account everyone's stance on the future of the series, and won't focus solely on what appeals to the mainstream audience. This dev team is one of the last I still put my faith in to deliver quality titles that respect long-time fans.

I disagree on it taking place in the new world. I feel the font could just be that it's mainline and is recognizable for people who played world. It's also because we saw a large majority of the New World in World, and adding a whole new sector to it would just undermine the events of World, with exploring the New World. As for the Open World idea, I wouldn't call it impossible, just highly unlikely. I say this because, they already spent world reinventing the series, I find it unlikely that they would turn around and reinvent it all over again. There's also the very generic mountainous background, that just wouldn't feel right in an open world game. I don't doubt that Wilds' maps will be expansive, I just don't think it will be true open world yet. And for the people using the title as evidence for open world, need I remind you of the game called Monster Hunter World. I don't think the title can be used as evidence.

I really hope that we don't get tent restocks, damn near all my friends started in World and I was guiding them through the fundamentals and helping them find a weapon they liked. During that time I was constantly saying things like "make sure to stock up on well done steaks when out on easy quests" and "try to gather up as much as you can on ores, bones, herbs, blue mushrooms, and honey". Only to find out the supply box doesn't even make you wait in High Rank and still has items in G Rank (Master Rank) when Iceborne came out, that we can eat at camp, resupply in the tent, and even change weapons and armor. Love them and the game but damn did none of them improve in item preparation and several still forget to eat before a hunt.

The possibility of wilds being open world has me a bit hesitant since I'm not a fan of open world games. So far, that's the biggest concern I have for wilds. I'm hoping that camp fast travel and having your entire arsenal available at camps will be brought down to a couple of weapons and a small number of items for you to restock on. Overall, I'm much more excited for wilds from this than I'm worried. A part of me is hoping that wilds won't be open world but have a vast open environment for the maps. In all honesty, with the smoothness of throwing in rise, the only thing I can really see coming back is the grappling hook part of it. I'd personally would rather have the throwing than taking the time to load something into the slinger. We'll just have to wait until they give more information to find out. Having multiple weapons is interesting, especially with the case of what it would be for skills sets for wilds. Since we see both a great sword and a light bowgun, they have unique skills that each of them don't share. I'm intrigued to see what they're planning for this.

Given it seems very likely to be fully open world, I'm kinda hoping they get rid of (or make optional) the timer. It has always felt out of place and nonsensical to put an arbitrary time limit on your hunting, and every failure to said time limit has always felt like absolute unfair bs, it would feel even more out of place and wrong in an open world game. I admit that getting a buzzer beater kill is exhilarating, but that exhilaration isn't worth how utterly wrong and blatantly gamey and unrealistic it feels to have a timer at all. It has never made sense for a vitally important quest to kill some terrible threat to the human race to be called off and failed because you took a few minutes too many, and adding such a timer to an open world experience would be even more asinine. Personally, the timer rarely effects me as (outside of Fatalis with his halved timer) I haven't timed out since Tri, but I still find the thing immersion breaking and out of place; it's a relic of the past best left in the dustbin of history, like paintballs and bad controls.

I love that they are focussing more on ecosystem AI tech, hopefully they give a look at "rain world", the game has pretty interesting game dynamics results of a fairly complex ecosystem within the world, it actually makes you feel immersed in a real ecosystem, you must survive, hunt, study behaviors, create tactics, test them and adapt to ecosystem adapting to player. Also just watching various species of creatures interaccting with eachother, with player addition and other variables like weather system, region specifics, etc. the emergent gameplay that is going to take place in MHW is gonna be crazyyy (i hope)

A crazy new thing (and I'm serious) that I can see them adding with this new much larger play space for the first time is fall damage, lol. The sand being blown off of the final plains area in the trailer gives me mad elder dragon implications for some reason, like them having a massive effect on their surroundings like they do in the lore, I could see Kushala being in a desert would make for quite the sandstorm like we see in the trailer ;)

I have a theory that this game is going to be similar to a game like Pokémon Legends Arceus. Having several large open maps, each of them with different biomes, and a hub that you return to. Imagine prepping in the hub before embarking on this multi day expedition where you hunt multiple monsters on the field without returning home.

The fact they put in Steam as a release platform on the trailer says a lot, since previously World and Rise were very clear that they were launching on consoles first (PS4/Xbox One, and Switch respectively), so the fact that Steam is listed makes a simultaneous release most likely now. Unlike with the previous titles where the MonHun team were getting their feet wet on PC releases, this time they now have the experience to do a simultaneous platform release.

Hey Ruri, more speculation here. I think that Capcom might have incorporated some sort of underwater combat in Wilds. If you look at the logo, you can see a reflection and some ripples. The 2 bigger dragons in the logo are presumably the new elder dragons based in water, which I believe are the male and female (with the “egg”). The hunter is also seen wearing a type of goggle head gear which might enable him to see underwater. Would be really cool if underwater combat makes a comeback in Wilds, it would certainly open up much more options in an open-world gameplay perspective.

Super hyped for the game and the pre-release hype starting next summer. I do really hope that they make another emphasis on preperation. Prepping 2 Loadouts that work in tandem, planning out which items I always take with me, and which to stock up in my Mount-Backpack sounds awesome to me. Especially if they bring back stuff like Cold-/Hotdrinks. I think the technological aspects, and this taking place in the new world could defintely mean we get to know more about that ancient civilization that got obliterated by Fatalis. As they broud him back for the end of Iceborne, I feel like it would be cool to go from their end to maybe their beginning? Maybe the new world is where the ancient civ actually hailed from and we will see some secret uncoverd. Would also be a cool reason to introduce a new weapon type, as the likes of Switch Axe and Charge Blade come from unearthed Ancient Civ tech iirc. Love your videos Ruri, and looking forward to the 3rd Fleet Podcast episode!

I want them to force two separate weapons types on us. If this truly does replace camps then it would prevent players from swapping to the same set for "free" item restocks. And it would heavily encourage players to learn at least 2 weapons for flexibility.

I'm placing my bets now. This game will have underwater combat. The "Wilds" part of the logo has a reflection, and then 6 serpent icon part of the logo has a ripple effect as it shows up on screen. I believe these are hints for what will be a large part of this new title. Imo it would feel pretty weird to have a huge open world with water where the player cannot engage with the aquatic life. They've emphasized the ecosystem being a big part of this game and no ecosystem is complete without water and the inhabitants found there. My next bet is that Lagiacrus makes his return along with the underwater combat. As for why they didn't show it in this trailer - Capcom knows how mixed the reception was last time, so they'd rather have people speculating about the positives of this big open world and they know they won't be talking about Wilds again until summer. It makes more sense to make that announcement with additional information. And for anyone who thinks underwater combat should stay in the past, I implore you to reconsider. Tri was made for the Wii. A lot has changed about the scope of Monster Hunter as a series, the funding, the sales numbers, as well as the experience and fluidity of the animation and combat since then. Tri feels downright slow and clunky compared to Rise (I personally miss that a bit, but that's a whole other topic) - so I'm positive the Monster Hunter team could pull it off this time and have it feel fun. It's gonna be a long wait till Wilds, but I cannot wait to play it! Happy Hunting in the meantime, everyone.

The lack of a palico in the trailer is kinda strange, I get that the focal point of the trailer is the new rideable creature and the environment, but I’m interested in seeing how exactly a palico would interact within the open world, if the feature of sending out palicos to gather materials is a thing it would be cool to be able to come across those palicos while in the open world

I wonder if we can get to use different types of mount. Like this mount on the trailer seems to have a gliding ability that allows it to reach higher areas. What if other mounts have different traversal options? For example, there could be a mount that lets you run up the walls like Rise etc. I think this could open up interesting options for the player in using the terrain. One other thing is they could tie the mounts to story progression, say, the research fleet finds a way to tame X monster, and this monster is capable of traversing underwater areas (wink wink). This opens up the possibility of the hunter being able to go to an underwater cave and probably fight a monster there. Just some ideas...

The reveal trailers usually show one core aspect of the new game. In World it was the scout flies and tracking as well as the slinger. In Rise (which was way more extensive) we had Wirebug traveling and even part of the rampage storyline. Now we see a huge world with lightning strikes, travel through a mount and cureiously enough; the mount carrying a 2nd weapon. For me this implies either that the mount is a mobile camp, which means you can prepare yourself and the mount for the hunt. No infinite resupplying anymore (thank god!). Or like you mentioned in the video, quick change of weapons. Although I wouldnt really like the quick change of weapons as it is really hard to build 1 set of armor around 2 different weapon types..

If it is a direct sequel to MHW, the high density of monsters and crazy weather might be because of the absence of Nergigante. Without Nergigante, there's probably an excess of bio-energy from him not eating elder dragons.

I think the monster density is just because the area has a small water source and they are gathering around it…and I’ve posted this on a rage gaming video but if Capcom is reading this, here is an awesome idea that I love to see implemented someday: what if during your exploration you encounter an old senile first fleet hunter that basically only tells stories of his glory days. An old war hero-esk idea. When you do quests for him it unlocks more of his stories. These stories/flashbacks are playable versions of quests from older games. I’d say make it an arena kind of a loadout system where you choose a predetermined weapon and set and you have to complete a quest from one of the older games and the rewards are classic armor and weapon sets or layered armor and weapons. How cool would that be?!?!?

Looking forward to the absolute MH nerd-fest that will be the next third fleet podcast. It's not accessories, lightning literally stroke down right into it, indicates that those creatures are already used to this kind of environment.
