Interesting to see the overlap between MH fans and souls fans considering the differences in combat and feel. -coming from a pure souls player who wandered in here after seeing all the cool trailers
Really like how some of the less popular weapons got some extra buffs too. The hunting horn's new Echo ability will be a bit of a game changer, I think. Gunlance looks like it has a few more extra shots in it's combos as well. (Not my main, so unsure though).
"lance main" see. this how i know youre a modern mh player. Mh is not about maining 1 thing. its about learning every option avaiable. and adapt to the challenges ahead. You are supose to build every weapon
@@Cshepard you arent supposed to build every weapon. the point is to have fun with any weapon you like. you can beat everything in the game even if you only use one weapon
Ode to the Greatsword In the wilds where danger’s never far, I wield my Greatsword, a steadfast star. A blade of weight, of slow, deliberate grace, Yet in its swing, I find my warrior's place. With every draw, I feel its timeless might, A weapon born for the patient fight. Though it’s slow, each strike is pure, A symphony of power, raw and sure. They've refined the hilt, the balance fine, Now I move with it, in perfect line. A step, a roll, a dance so grand, More nimble now, yet firm I stand. In the wilds, I measure every breath, For with the Greatsword, there’s no rush to death. I wait, I watch, then with a mighty swing, Unleashing wrath as the echoes ring. It's in the slowness, where the thrill resides, In every charged blow, where my spirit hides. Each move is heavy, each moment, pure, With the Greatsword, I am the cure. To every monster’s daunting glare, I answer with patience, with utmost care. For though it's slow, it cuts so deep, In every arc, in every leap. So here's to the Greatsword, steadfast and true, In the wilds, I find my rhythm with you. With better steps, and a mighty hand, Together we conquer, together we stand.
Charge blade, ive missed you. For any newcomers just know that the depth that comes with any of these weapons is substantial and mastering it is as rewarding as the hunts themselves.
To choose a diff weapon almost feels like playing a different other game entirely, that's what I love about MonHunt, sick of doing the same thing? Change your weapon! Now the entire gameplan seems to be completely different!!
@@ErdingerLi 100% go from a methodical, tactical assault and defense, to a much more mobile hack and slash. Or from a support role to a longer range one, and all of them have so much depth and opportunities to crush your previous skill ceiling... Its honestly insane lol
@@vgnvideogameninja2930 Yeah, it looks a lot like world but with higher res textures. I could care less about graphics, game could look like GU and I'd still enjoy it.
I am ready once more. Once more I will join the hunt. I swear, the happiest time of my life was back when World was released. I've been depressed for a long time, but games have been something I've relied on everytime, and that period of my life, when I had a simple, decent job, no money or study issues and plenty of time for myself, all I used to do when I got back home was playing World. I was still doing speedruns and personal records in base World when Iceborne dropped, and it was magnificent. Now I'm in a much different state, my life is upside down and my girlfriend and brother are the only reasons I'm barely "OK". What I'm trying to say is that this game has and always will have a special place in my heart. Me and my two fellow hunters, with who I play every coop game we can get our hands on, will have a blast hunting once again. I'm so excited.
You need professional help. Video games and your GF shouldnt be the reason youre "OK". What an incredibly horrible and selfish thing to put on other people. Go get some meds and talk to a therapist. Talking about how games and your gf are the only things that help just make you sound like a kid. Adults shouldnt behave like that.
@@ChimpBrained Someone admits to depression and yet you call it selfish and a 'kid'- /that/ is an incredibly horrible thing to do. You are the adult that should not behave like that. Seeking support from the things and people we love is only natural.
@@evankurasu3190lol, that's going going to be the a record-breaking game. It going to sell more games in a week than monster hunter will in a year, if even that.
I used to love using LS as my main weapon in both mhw and mhr, mostly because of the flow it had with all the attacks, but watching what they did with almost all the slow weapons in wilds will change me to using the heavy hitters. Especially HH and lance!
@@coastal0073 Don't be sad Brother, for as long as there will be Monsters to kill, our fellow Hunters will hear the sound of our boomsticks right by their side.
If you want some advice; Get a group of friends to play with. MH Is perfectly playable in solo nowadays, but the real MH Feeling Is playing with a group to take Down those majestic creatures
None of my friends are into MH either 😢. I put some time into World, but it never fully clicked. I didn't dislike it, but I wasn't loving it either. I tried Rise later, and something about it made it click finally. Maybe the more streamlined experience helped me get more accustomed. I went back to World and finished the game as well as the Iceborne expansion, and came to really love it. Took some time and multiple attempts though 😂. Now I am very excited for Wilds
I love all the weapons and I know it's alot to ask for more but I've been playing since ps2 and I really really want more weapons added to the game 😢 that being said I'm gonna continue playing the games as they make them 😅
Same here, played through the birth of all the new age morphing weapons, along with that stupid bug stick (don't mind me i hate it LOL). However I guess the main thing is balancing issues, we could use one or two more blunt and range weapons though I think it'll make another one less favourable or completely obsolete
I dunno - every single weapons basically almost plays like a different character or game. And we have fourteen of them. More is always nice but dont forget that going forward the devs will always add exponentionally more dev time for each weapon added, since every single one needs to be accounted for when a new game or gen releases. Also personally Id just appreciate more depth and customizability for the weapon types we already have
Personally, I wish they’d combine Light and Heavy Bowgun into the fully customizable version from 3 making the list technically 13 weapons long. With that 14th weapon being the Tonfas. The Insect Glaive is the only airborne weapon that deals slashing damage along with technicality that rivals Charge Blade. The Tonfas are blunt with a skill level akin to hammers that are significantly more focused on flight. It’s arguably the only weapon that can fill a role we lack. I’d be content forever if we just got Tonfas. Mind you I’ve never played Frontiers, but it seems so obvious.
Really glad capcom limited the monster variety in these previews/overview to just the three but decided on weapons that are clearly made from materials of other monsters we havent seen in the game yet. Really lets us speculate and even fully deduce the monsters we'll be fighting, like Rathalos, since we can tell from the sword and shield preview. Personally i cant wait to see what the switch axe was made from.
Greatsword, my beloved weapon, In the heat of battle, you are my steadfast companion. Your weight, once intimidating, now feels like an extension of my very soul. With each mighty swing, we carve our path together, our bond unbreakable, our strength undeniable. The world trembles at your edge, as monsters fall before our unwavering resolve. When I wield you, I am unstoppable-your power courses through me, turning each strike into a symphony of destruction. Together, we are an unstoppable force, and with you by my side, no hunt is too great, no challenge too daunting. Forever yours in the hunt.
I'm not decided between great sword and dual blades. I absolutely love the slashes with the dual blades and the focus mode attack but the Greatsword looks fun too! Can't wait for this!!
This will probably be my set up also. Unless they don't balance builds well with using 2 different types of weapons. Which I could see that happening. If so I'll probably just do what I did in rise/break which is main hammer and dual blades.
Focus mode is a cool technique let's you strafe and facing directly while your weapons drawn and slow movement. Keep attacking on one monster's parts (Head, body, tail or limbs) can afflict wounds on that part, activate focus mode to see highlight wounded parts. Focus strikes let you do amazing stunts against one large monster. Each weapons can perform different focus strike. Does more damage on wounded or soft parts on the large monster.
Ahhh... you where at my side... all along *stares at gunlance* My true mentor... my guiding moonlight *begins laughing in dangerously short-ranged flak*

@@Cshepardwell some of us don't build every weapon for that reason. I myself is a collector. Hence, I build all of them for my own achievements and trophies but still use my favorite weapon and armor set. 🥳
Anybody else really bummed that it looks like there’s no wirebug or switch skill mechanic equivalents? Really really loved rise the movement and customization options for weapon combos were awesome and added so much depth
Oh, my dear Gunlance, you've been rotting for way too long, it's about time to restore you to your former Glory... Become the Dragonator you were born to be
This is great, but I was kind of hoping they’d surprise us with a new weapon. I'd kill for a new blunt DPS weapon, like the Tonfas(it always irked me that I never got to play them in a mainline game).
Generations ultimate and 4U did a great job in making me want to play every weapon. Between rise and world I felt like I could only use a quarter of the weapons. But this looks like I might be playing evrything again which is amazing
@@CBreezie it’s basically finding the Blunt Variant to something we have. We have slashing dual weapons, not blunt, hence the tonfas( which were in Frontier) or the twin fists as dual weapons but for blunt focused damage as an alternative to taking the hammer or hunting horn.
@@poggestfrog I can get that, but take Lance and Sword n Shield. Both rank in the least used weapons among the rest. Lance is strongly limited in what you can do to advance it, short of letting the spear itself rotate like a drill( and creating 1k memes with it) its basicaly complete. The form we have for this is about as far as they can go. Plus, they have had other weapons already made and in use from Monster Hunter frontier(Tonfas, Magnet Spike) and the Accel Axe( from MH Explore)
