@@Dogasupreme It can be, and it's why I want to try maining Lance. But the problem is with Guardian Alpha is that it just makes the whole game entirely effortless and in a bad way, as well. If you have high defense and Rocksteady mantle and let's say you then use Dual Blades and tank as you demon flurry a monster in the face, that's really fun! If you just take zero damage and keep getting knocked around until you eventually kill the monster thats a lot less fun. Plus, it makes it feel like you accomplished a lot less.

@@Luffy-su1ho as a hardcore fan of the game, could not recommend it more. I guess it’s not AS intuitive as other action adventure games, but it feels really rewarding with how it teaches preparation and leveling. Learning a monsters moves, knowing where the different herbs are and figuring out weaknesses both biologically and environmentally really makes you feel immersed in the world. Plus it rewards good play like no one’s business. If you like ecology, animals, or an interesting combat game, go for it. I’d also recommend getting the DLC too, since the base game lacks some challenge. DLC gets really tough if you don’t pay attention and has some excellent fights in it.

@@songbird6414 as a new hunter a few years ago, it was really fun…. At first. The ENDLESS grind eventually just tired me out and made me feel like I wasn’t making any progress, made no better by the hordes of MH players telling me “thIS iS tHe REaL GamE” when I tried to ask why everything was taking so long. The games are great fun, but they have way too much to do and the grind is too tedious for me for me to feel like I’m actually DOING anything meaningful.

@@craftsmenMC fair enough! The grind really is part of the game, which unfortunately works for some and doesn’t work for others. I like it because I still feel like I’m working towards something. Especially in Iceborne, it’s like once you trump one big challenge, an even bigger one comes about and you’re right back at it trying to get better gear to beat whatever just crawled out of the abyss.

@@songbird6414 that’s my problem; I DONT feel like I’m working towards something, or at least something meaningful. When I finally get all the damn hard to get pieces for the gear I need for the ONE monster, and I FINALLY beat it, the game goes “do it all over again.” It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so LONG.

@@poggestfrog That basically happened for me, settled with sword and shield because it felt the fastest and most responsive. Then I see gameplay from experienced players on RU-vid and realise I’ve tried out every weapon completely wrong.

@@collectiusindefinitus6935 For me I spend a whole two hours after the tutorial trying each weapon, had no idea what to use so tried the bow on Jagras, thought it was boring and used HBG, and then I watched every single Arrekz weapon tutorial and realized that I played everything wrong. RN I'm a SA main with a hint of HH, Lance and HBG. I haven't decisively chosen though

@@frankbc6909 And the hydra head escort is the most painful thing ever. At least the NPC escort quests can be done using portcrystals, in the hydra head mission you gotta endure it the whole way. Also, i only figured out you could kick the cow on like the 5th time through

Oxcart sucks But the other Escort quest are simple. Just place Port crystals at the crimson beach or whatever it's called, the shadow castle thing, blue moon tower and the worst points are done

Look to one of the paths and I saw a tail swinging but I walked the other direction before I could find what was attached to it. I then fully met him when I was running and I heard stomping behind me, looked back and he had just turned the corner was walking towards me. That he got mad and ran and thus began my famous track career

My first MH game was MHFU & as a kid tigrex gave me the same trauma that anjenath is giving u all. I had to go through some tough self therapy go get over my fear of it.

My friend, who I've been playing Monster Hunter with for over a year and a half, just found out you could upgrade weapons less than a month ago. I've never laughed so hard in my life, and I tore into him for all the times he beat me in In-Game Arm Wrestling for that.

And Elemental weaknesses. He survived against the anjanath and rathalos better than I thought considering the barroth gear.

I was at Hunter Rank 49 until I found out about the armor skills. I just picked the armor with the most defense any chance I got.

@@bradleyhanson96 That's what I used to do. That's why I don't usually use the Stygian Zinogre Armor despite me having the entire set; it's only real uses besides high armour are a real specific build which I don't plan to make, and dragon res.

"Easy and simple" I know the previous ones are way more brutal, but no sane person would call this game easy and simple. The amount of information/mechanics I've had to memorize, as well as how difficult certain hunts can get is anything but easy and simple

@@katafadasian It is easy, at worst the hunts get long because of crappy equipment, but other than special challenges and a couple monsters that you NEED to be prepared for, it's as easy as good you are dodging/blocking

@@QuasoTheSapphicShipper Only if you're a returning player. To someone new, it's hard. I didn't know how to optimize builds at first, wasn't prepared for tempered monster damage and health etc, so I died and needed help a lot. It wasn't the most crushing experience ever. But easy and simple? Definitely not.

@@katafadasian can agree with this, I came back to MHW and have around 30 hours which is really little, but all the battles are hard, take time, take a lotta tries, and a lot of help. Though it feels great to craft a new armor piece or weapon. So many weapons I could try, so many armor, so many things I can craft, so many monsters even without the dlc, its a great experience

Yeah the MH franchise is definitely hard for new players ! I'm happy that Rise and World help better new hunters without babysitting them. I remember when I started to play, Monster Hunter Tri. A NIGHTMARE ! I was so lost everytime, I had to play with a veteran friend with him doing a whole personal tutorial and long explanations for me lol

@@judygambel2801 IG main as well. Jumping is good for when the monster is immune to flash pods and you want to get a quick slinger burst grab to knock him down, or as an evasive tool, but the damage from jumping attacks is pitiful. Stay on the ground and use your infinite combo.
