It's a bit sad but by the time you meet him in World, your armor is probably so good that you won't even feel his lovely touch. He's supposed to do way more damage than that. Tigrex is like that one dish where you've gone too wild on the chilies.
In rise, first time I fought him I was wayyy underleveled, but I was fighting with friends and by GOD I felt that damage but it was such a fun fight I distinctly remember sharpening my glaive and in the background my friend is riding him like a fucking bronco. It was insane and still was my favorite hunt with them
