They got rid of the crush cars becuae if the safety regulation or the athletes don't like them anymore because the xar can deflate the tires closing the run very quickly.
Parts of cars flying into stands that’s why but there looking for a replacement a example is back in the early 2000s you could repair a part of you car at home but now days there’s parts in cars that you can’t get past with home tools so you have to go to a dealer so that means more parts witch means more parts possibly flying into the stands
more to do with how plasticy modern cars are, metal compresses and is less likely to fracture, where as plastic disintegrates and shards could get launched into the crowds. if they had a constant supply of cheap scrapped old cars they would have retained them.
Other monster truck tours are mostly running shows in rural areas at the county fairgrounds. Monster Jam is ran almost exclusively in major cities at this point since that's where the stadiums and arenas are. Rural areas are not only allowed to be open right now, they are also inherently safer. As to why Monster Jam isn't running without fans like NASCAR has been doing, unfortunately, I think the answer to that is that FELD views this as entertainment rather than a legitimate motorsport. They also wouldn't be profiting by doing all the work to convert stadiums and arenas into tracks and then relying solely on the TV coverage and merchandise to make money. Hopefully things don't shut down any longer, and we can get back to normal soon. If not, Monster Jam's best bet is to buy up a large chunk of land that they can build their own tracks on and then start livestreaming events. That's pretty much what they did for the World Record Stunt Show they just did.
MJ fans when a driver does one big jump and almost wins: that’s so dumb it should be changed MJ Fans when monster jam makes the 30 second rule: noooo this rule sucks
For the love of christ, get rid of fan judging and the 30 second minimum, and the shut downs need to be limited. Used to run em into the ground, never unsafe. Suddenly it is (not really, a tie rod hanging out won’t hurt anyone or thing). If you feel unsafe because some parts are hanging off the thing, don’t go watch on tv, you end up ruining it by having a over-safe culture.
I miss the old days as well. however as cool as it was, I'd imagine those 6 ton trucks did some damage to the stadium floors running around on 3 wheels and a hub. So I don't think it was exactly a safety rule, more a save us money rule.
Ryan Griffith Fair enough, but ever notice tie-rods, sway bars, nothing unsafe for anyone, not digging into the dirt and concrete. Thats when it become clear its a over-safe situation. Sometimes ruins the show, especially when half the trucks go out and flip over early, the broken trucks done early fills the field of trucks up as all being done early, really robs the audience for no reasonable reason. Tampa 2020, first one this year really shows that
thistimeitsJames Look at how often they let then run with things hanging off, or like wheels, gone: almost never did anything happen, people get injured more from fibreglass than parts. Again, there’s a risk even now. So either accept it and go or don’t. Either way, we need less shut offs.
@@inoutdoor4211 this started after a kid was killed from a piece of truck flying into the crowd. Tacoma Washington, the truck was Natural High. You don't have to like it, but it's not going to change.
Wait... if this is from 2020, why isn’t anyone wearing their masks or practicing social distancing? How am i the only one who noticed, judging by all the comments I read so far?
@@bucfan23 Makes sense. I remember I used to love monster trucks as a kid 20 years ago but I've never been to Monster Jam before. Once the pandemic is finally over, I should look into the next time it comes to Houston.
