I’m 27 and have been playing Monster Jam games since the Maximum Destruction on PS2 days. I’m stoked for this game, needless to say. I think it looks really promising.

YES! MY DUDE! Finally some positivity on this game. I’ve been telling people since the announcement that this was still being ironed out for release and it looks like they made a lot of progress in the last few months. If I was a betting man I’d say Over Bored and Black Pearl may be in too but idk.

HA HA! I always try to stay positive! There has been a ton of negative comments online about the game though. It's great to see the progress they've made though. I'd say Over Bored and Black Pearl are strong DLC contenders for sure!

It definitely shares more than a few similarities, but it already looks much more polished than MTC. That being said, MTC has a solid foundation, so I'm not really complaining.

So I do wonder if Digatron is going to end up as a DLC truck. Judging by what we have now, the fact that Rottweiler should be guaranteed, and with how Steel Titans 1 handled Dragonoid, I could see Digatron being an early DLC release, maybe alongside Lumberjack(teammate to Crushstation) as a sorta "Blue Collar Worker" pack. The physics really look like Path of Destruction now that we know about stick air control, which had solid physics with air control.

I've been suspecting DIGatron as a DLC truck since I saw the legal fine print when the website first launched. I'd love to see lumberjack in game and that is a pretty strong possibility too. I'm definitely warming up to the physics some, but yeah, I'd like to see more stadiums/traditional freestyle events without the crazy stunts before I make a judgement call on it.

Yeah the stadium footage we have seen does have some crush car obstacles, but nothing terribly exciting. I would like to see some stunts involving crush cars, kind of like the sparkle smash stunt at world finals!

They won't cancel it! But the lack of cross play on the switch is a huge bummer for me. Hopefully it won't be like titans where they stop updating the switch version.

i dont know if we knew this already but in the el toro loco freestyle clip we can see the Jurrasic Attack in the game is the 2024 accurate one and not the old blue one like i was worried it would be.

Free ride, like an open explore mode? The devs said that there will be a practice map that will be untimed and free to drive. Still, it would be nice if every map had a free roam option.

Sadly, I saw on the website, it said "standard edition" so I'm kind of sad monster jam is going to have a "deluxe" or "ultimate" edition. Still though, I'm going to get this game because it looks like a great time. Probably won't beat 07, Urban Assault, or Path of Destruction, but I'm very hopeful for this one.

So, from what John (game dev) was telling me, currently they're not planning for a deluxe or collector's edition. The standard edition refers to a physical copy, and then the only other version is digital. I have seen some listings referring to it as "day one edition" but I'm guessing that just includes the 4 pre-order bonus trucks. Going by Milestone's track record though, they likely will have some sort of season pass with all the future planned DLC's for the year included. Perhaps there will be a deluxe version that includes the season pass as well. Just have to wait and see!

The UI is a bit questionable, but it's also a work in progress and is usually the last thing to get worked on. Hopefully it gets fixed.

LOL I won't say it! (but you know it's true...) I think Horse Power, Racing Stripes, and Knightmare are all super interesting and would make awesome additions to the game, but sadly, likely won't make it unfortunately. If they haven't added them to beam yet, they probably won't add them to Showdown...

Knightmare will never be in monster jam showdown, but racing stripes will never be in monster jams showdown and ps tempest steed will never be in monster jam showdown

Probably a controversial opinion, but Monster Jam games suck. Every new Monster Jam game I've seen come out has hardly anything to do with the actual Monster Jam event style. I play the Monster Jam mods for BeamNG, but it's definitely lonely, and the MP servers for it are dead.

Honestly not all that controversial. A lot of people have been jaded on official Monster Jam games for a while now. My two biggest issues with Beam are 1) the polish, it still crashes all the time and has a huge barrier for entry and 2) the atmosphere, you have to be really good at using your imagination to keep the fun going. That being said, we do Monster Truck Monday here every week and typically finish off the stream with some Beam-MP, you're welcome to join us and check it out! :-)
