Lake of the Woods offers amazing fishing opportunities all year for walleyes but some of the best fishing is early in the season. Tamarack Island Wilderness Lodge is located in some of the best fishing LOTW has to offer. Finding rock flats adjacent to deep wintering holes are key to putting walleyes in the boat!

Headed up to Morris Point mid Jan, 2024, obviously for the ice fishing, any info you have on walleye prefered colors would be great! Enjoy your show, record them all on AT&T UVERSE in Indy.

What is your most productive way to fish the rippin rap?

Michael V. I like to cast it out, let get to the bottom and then snap the rod up. Then let the bait free fall for a second and snap the rod a second time then let the bait return all the way to the bottom. Then repeat that cadence over and over. You can change it up a bit maybe 1 single snap or 3 - up to you. You should be able to feel the bait vibrating as you rip it - you want to feel that ripping for a bout 1.5 - 2 seconds every time you snap the rod. Hope this helps!
