I feel like I should mention there is an npc late game that tells you the biome of undefeated champions , so you won't have issues finding them as long as you have the exploration abilities to get to them, and it's usually obvious where they are right when you're told what biome to go to since it'll be one of the few unexplored areas in that biome.

I bought this on release and I’m having a blast. It’s like a chilled out Pokémon game. Beautiful sprits and pixel art along with a great soundtrack. Definitely worth a play. Go check it out

Thank you so much for this review. I saw Monster Sanctuary as a game coming to Game pass and was curious what it was. Looks pretty fun.

Ok so I was playing it earlier,i racked up over 6hrs on it,and let me tell you that this game is amazing,now let me get this out of the way,the graphics are weak imo but that's not the highlight of the game,it's all about traversing the different areas Metroid style all the while playing it like it was Pokémon but without the catching monsters thing,you get them by winning eggs from scoring 4 or 5 stars in each battle then you hatch the egg yourself,after leveling up your monsters you get skill points to upgrade the monsters your way and that is a good upgrade system that works,as you get higher levels you find more monsters and switch them up to see if they're good or a right fit for your team,it does also have an elemental/non-elemental system to attack like Pokémon does,the controls are also perfect for this type of game,this game is amazing,it does have it's faults though,no difficulty and graphics seem to be my only gripe with this game but everything else it's great,if you're looking for a hybrid game this is it,i give it a 9 out of 10.....now if only they could actually improve the graphics for a sequel like Bloodstained did and I'm good,oh and if you have Xbox game pass now is the time to play this amazing game,i highly recommend it👍😁

I am undecided between Monster Sanctuary and Coromon. Can anyone that has played both games give me their opinion/feedback on them? Thank you
@karenamyx2205
@karenamyx2205 2 месяца назад
Im assuming youve long decided, but if anyone new sees this, ill tell ya. If you want a traditional pokemon game, coromon is that. It could have been an official pokemon game on GBA and fit right in. MS is not really like pokemon at all. Its 3v3 fighting, the overworld includes platforming and traversal abilities. If someone wanted a pokemon game, i wouldn't recommend this game as the pick. However, as its own thing, its a fantastic masterpiece.

This game is phenomenal and great, but it has one glaring flaw; the Tamer battles. Almost every tamer battle is brutally difficult and seemingly requires a team specifically made for them, and while that might not be a problem for some (SMT fans and the like), it's a huge problem if you want a Pokémon style game since it very heavily force/"encourages" you to stop playing with monsters toi like so you can make a more synergistic team. The other big problem with this design is that the general game isn't very challenging, monster battles are generally pretty good (not too easy, but not too hard) and generally don't require more than few retries before you figure out a proper strategy or get lucky. And why I say get lucky is because the monster battles seemingly have no AI, they target who ever with what ever move, sometimes they all gang up on one monster and gut it in a single turn, and other times they spearf their attacks out and seemingly use the least effect moves on the least effective target (like targeting a water resistant monster with a single target water move for example). So a majority of the game doesn't offer too much of a challenge, only to deck you in the teeth whenever you fight an NPC. If you're okay with this kind of game design, it's excellent, almost a master piece in fact. If you would prefer that a game be more consistent and less brutal, just keep it in mind if you get the game (which you should consoder because even despite that the game is very fun and good). My only other complaint is lack of quality of life stuff like; the map doesn't keep track of items you've seen but haven't obtained yet, using an item in battle and losing means you lose the item despite being pushed to the last checkpoint (in the case of tamer battles which forces you to win because of plot it makes no sense that I'm technically going back in time but still losing items). The only significant bug I've run into is some weird skill point nonsense wherein if you make a load out with a team of monsters it stores all values your monsters had at that time. So if you made a load out with a level 15 monster, gained 10 levels, uses those skill points, and then load up that load out, the game will load up the best approximation to that original load out using what ever if currently available. This sounds cool since it's a free skill tree reset, but in practice its just really confusing because equipment and skills will just get tossed back into the inventory and you'll have to reequipt them unless you over ride that load out. Which is real hassle since you'll probably want to have multiple teams for different situations and remembering who has what gear, and which skills, and "why does it have that move?", and "I have to use a skill tree reset because the old load out has the skill tree that is suboptimal", etcetera.

It’s a pretty long game that just added new content for the full release. So it’ll take about 25 hours or more, that’s not including hatching every monster or exploring everywhere.

i regret buying this game. I never had issues with battles or monsters. I got ridiculously far in the game, defeated all of the legends... My main issue with the game was finding out where to go and not enough fast travel points. too easy to get lost, not knowing where to go or how to progress to another location. I would go to a part of the map only to find out its behind a trap door with no explanation of how to get to it. This kept happening and it seemed like it was completely unnecessary. Then needing to go to another part of the map where it had an opening and to go back through the area again only to find that its behind a trap door and im not able to progress. I think next part i was going to was Horizon Beach but never actually found the way to get to it. Literally started to hate the game over this.

This is not a very good review. If you thought the battles were too long at 2x, then your team was very bad. This isn't a game where you use "3 random favourite monsters" - you need to build a team with a healer, support and dps, and they should have synergy with each other. Every non-boss, non-trainer battle can be cleared in 3 or less turns and probably 2. If you're taking significantly longer than this, you're not paying attention. Repeating the last action would also be extremely silly. Your monsters have multiple moves, and all of them should be used at different times. Repeating the last action would not be helped other than in the first area of the game, which is like 3% of the total game. Now I'm starting to think you didn't even remotely come close to finishing the game, because that statement makes ZERO sense to me. I never once thought I needed to use the same moves, especially on support, buffers, healers, etc. But even the dps will need to cycle through single-target and multi-target attacks, consider what types to use and what debuffs you want to apply, or consider when to use their ultimate attacks. There are also many unique or reasonably unique monsters that provide rare explore abilities. Again, you basically said the opposite, which convinces me you never got far enough to find them. Bad review. I am not even convinced you explored even 25% of the biomes. There's absolutely no way you beat the game repeating the same moves over and over again. There's several difficulty spikes in this game that force you to rethink your strategy to build an even better team, and everyone goes through this, and yet you don't mention it at all. You never finished it. You didn't do the job you were paid to do.
