According to Chronister, Alexander lived with his parents. Deputies were called to the home 10 times before the deadly shooting, mostly for mental health service and violence against his parents.
In a press conference following the shooting, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said that deputies had previously been called to the home 10 times since 2021, mainly for mental health service and violence from Alexander against his parents. Deputies had previously seized firearms from Alexander following an active risk protection order that was filed.
Mental illness comes in many forms some cases, realality is not what is being precieved at all. In some cases the realality that is playing out in there brain is more like being stuck in a horror movie. That young man should have been instutionalized in a controlled mental health facility. Unfortunately our congress has been ingrained by a bunch of bafoons have done nothing worth a crap. Perhaps when we can vote these magers who seem to be suffering from mental illness themselves out. We can address this situation and build facilities to help people that need this help before such incredible sad events occur. 😮😢😮🎉❤ psychiatry is still in it's infancy we have a long long road ahead of us.
@@donnajacksunn489that is probably what he was seeing in his mind he was being surrounded by evil and he decided to do something about so he took matters into his own hands and starting fighting all the evil around him.😮😢😮
My sister and I were on our way to Walmart and saw the mother and him walking and he was in the middle of the st and his mom near the side walk before everything happened. This is truly shocking
Yes. Skinny, tall with long black hair and his father would also walk around as well and also had long hair and always wear a hat. But lately he has been walking around with a lady.
@@aaattt8260 Thanks for the reply. I used to see a tall kid with classes with an older lady walking from Publix down the street. I didn’t notice long hair but it was close to that house. I thought the lady was his grandma.
The officer asks where he got the firearm. Well, how about asking where did he get the idea that killing his parents was a good idea. Isn't that the important question to ask, officer?
He's probably just a kid who didn't like to be disciplined!!! Saw how his friends were getting away with being bad, and he wanted to be like them. Well, now he doesn't have to worry about it does he???
Well, the answer to your question would be you see it everywhere you look these days social media movies TV shows video games, music and books. The violence is everywhere. There’s no boundaries anymore. What the fuck going on with this world?
schizophrenia they are hard to take care of....... most successful stories come from working , one on one / full time.. usually after family crisis and the parents say i cant do it any more, baker act the person, and it starts from there ,jail, homeless shelter , untill fully under the states care with A.P.D. from there a wavior support team will provide the person a safe roof over their heads, bils paid, a full time live in caregiver assigned to client. along with support living coach, and a whole bunch of other people in the clients circle of trust. .. just to name a few.. our goal get the client back to normal.. or at least make is life a living positive influence in society.. learning by baby steps.............. fair winds and fallowing seas
Foolishly, state run mental institutions were all closed in the 1980's. 😢💔🙏 Sad stories like this are the tragic results of that rediculous decision. 😔
Who wants to work in a state mental hospital anyways? Many were closed down due to funding issues but also staffing issues... Nobody wanted to work in such bleak environment s.... Daily surrounded by chronically mentally ill and criminally insane people, many who had committed heinous acts of violence.... I'm not sure if you know what that does to the medical personnel and administrative staff who used to work in those institutions... It takes a terrible toll on their minds as well..
The main reason is back then the gov kind of took away the parents rights to discipline they're kids. This all started back when I was around 20 years old.
If you took firearms before , is there no follow up , make sure he didnt get more? Where'd he get the other guns you took ? Was he arrested for gun possession before , should possibly been on parole ?? Or getting mental health ?? Or was he turned out like so many others these days!!!
Also legal firearms owners. When there is an oversupply of something it is easy to steal. When you secure your money better than a deadly weapon it is easy to steal.
@mr.satanserv6067 so blame legal gun owners because someone stole their property? Blame the victims you say. Should we also blame people who have their vehicle stolen and used to commit crimes? They should have stored their vehicles more securely. How does that even make sense to you?
We have to be careful always blaming mental illness when someone commits a horrific crime. Trust me when I tell you this, there are evil people in this world. Did this person have a prior diagnosis? If so, what was he doing in possession of a firearm. 😮
lol his access to guns isnt the problem! you went to this residence multiple times and never made any attempts at or for mental health help. Now you want to point fingers at the gun not your response.
Exactly! They’re totally ignoring the elephant in the room. But it always comes back to the “firearm”. The kid illegally had them before and he illegally had them again. So how about, the WHY this happened when they knew how unstable he was? Then they were there when he shot his mother. How did they allow that to happen while they were on the scene? They’re ignoring the entire situation EXCEPT the damn gun
@@LadieKadie There are absolutely involuntary committals in Florida. They usually occur after a person commits a crime and ends up in front of a judge and it's court ordered. For a minor child, parents can have their child committed for treatment. Also, a homeowner/parent living with an at risk person can remove firearms from their home if they have half a brain.
Stop confessing that, start speaking positive words. Your words go into the atmosphere and lingers there, words have power. Things happen, but be very careful what you say. Have a Blessed and safe new week!
@@donnathomas9111 "Your words go into the atmosphere and lingers there" No, they don't. Wake up to reality. Stop sugar-coating reality with positivity. You can't confront problems and make things better unless you tell it like it is.
@@frankmacleod2565I usually carry a knife. More practical honestly, unless I'm traveling out of state. And no, a hammer is easier. Too many things you got to do to get a gun going, but hammer is hammer
@@frankmacleod2565 literally said knife my brother in Christ. I only mentioned a hammer, which you mentioned multiple times already, was just as deadly and indeed easier to use than a gun in some cases..
Funny how they are only concerned with how he illegally got a firearm, instead of WHY he did what he did or how they could’ve stopped this from happening, especially after the police had been out there before and confiscated the firearms he already illegally had. Then there’s the fact that the police were there and somehow allowed the kid to kill his mother. What led up to this and why didn’t they do something before, when they had the chance? But… how he got the firearm is all that matters. 🙄
Because they’re trying to unarm the public for when SHTF. They know people are gonna be pissed and are gonna want some answer from public officials and public servants.
Because they are not interested in stopping it. If they did they'd go to the root cause. Same ppl complain about the lack of mental institutions yet still babble about how guns should be banned.😅
Finding out why he had illegal guns is dumb and a waste of time wtf it’s a very scary storm brewing folks!! Check inn on your fam people we are in some scary times😩🥹
What happened is all the times they were called no one was ever able to help him get the mental health services he needed. This is a systemic problem I’ve experienced firsthand.
People need to thank the psychiatry associations from the 50's and 60's. That lobbied for the closure of mental hospitals. Just so they could earn more money treating people on the outside and not in a place where they only allowed for a minimal staff.
If the Kid was A monster before the death of his parents, something should have been done about it. It appears that there were several calls to this home. What a world we live in, and then blame the Gun and not the mental state of the person. The deputy was not the only one struck by a bullet, maybe the only police office struck by a bullet as if the other people not persons...Think ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING..does not make sense..after reporting 3 people DIED BY bullets.. In all 3 PEOPLE DIED, and one person (a sheriff officer was struck by a bullet)
Prescription meds for mental health issues have side effects such as: increased aggression, thoughts &/or acts of self-harm. Most of the mass sh00terz were on them too, but easier to blame the gunz
You must be a child because you're never grown at nineteen the neo Cortez the frontal part of the decision making of the brain doesn't develop until the age of 25
Try central America, Mexico or South Africa. I watched a video a few years ago with a midwest couple who moved to Mexico because the US was too dangerous. I looked it up. Mexico had 25000 homicides that year compared to 15000 in the US. We have twice their population. In point of fact if you take out democrat run sheiss wholes like Chicago, St Louis, Camden NJ, North Charleston, Atlanta and others, our crime statistics are akin to Europe.

His parents probably had a firearm... Or some other relative. Or he stole it... Not to hard to get a gun in this country. That has been the case my entire life.
Who cares how he got a firearm? What worries me is why an army of police officers were there. It looked surreal Hillsborough police sent out literally 50 cops to deal with one teen with a gun. an army of cops for 1 kid with one gun shows us how ridiculous and unnecessary 50 cops are for a single shooter is in my opinion. 15 cops yes, ok but not 50... I drove by, and it looked like a parade of cop cars lined up for a block party. And then an accident happened by the Circle K a car got smashed up. I'm not sure, but I'll assume it might have been from one of the 50 cop cars flying in to back up their brother in arms. It sucks that a kid shot his mom. That has to be the worst 😢
What kind of deputy would let the assailant walk up when they're talking to a witness? Most counties, the deputy would keep them separated, but not Hillsborough, they let the son walk up and shoot his mom.
How can anyone ask the question in America, “how did he have any access to firearms,” in a nation so awash in guns that, not even counting the US military arsenal , we have more guns than people. The question is why does America have a per capital gun death rate that is many times higher than that of any other democratic industrialized nation. One thought is that on average the people in America lack the emotional and intellectual maturity to have so much fire power with such easy access.
This is sad...... For all involved..... To answer officers question... Firearms are easy access on the streets.... Whoever sold him that firearm should be arrested and charged with capital murder....
More guns they said, everyone will be safer, they said. An armed society is a polite society, the NRA said. America 2024: You got the country you wished for, I said.
You do realize that this kid got these guns illegally, right? Anyone, anywhere, can get one illegally, even if everyone else didn’t have them. Which would be even worse
At the beginning of the pandemic, Governor Greg Abbott signed HB1927 into law, allowing license holders the freedom to wear their weapons unconcealed. People were afraid and he capitalized on that fear. Firearm sales grew exponentially as did the fear within average citizens. People who wouldn't dream of owning weapons went out and bought "personal protection". The NRA and SCCA got rich overnight. During the lockdown, Greg Abbott signed a law that classified firearm stores as "essential businesses" thus, allowing the panic buying of weapons to continue unimpeded Now that the population is saturated with firearms, access has become easier than ever. Buying a used firearm or acquiring one from the black market is practically effortless. Stealing them is just as easy Fast forward three years. Violent crimes involving a firearm are a daily, commonplace occurrence. It's not just Houston or Texas. Many of those firearms have crossed state lines. America is at war with itself and people are dying every day as a result
they didn't shoe his face, they said mental illness they didnt say anything about him smoking pot at 12 so we know what race he is, they were not afraid for their life
It’s insane that we are at an all time low for crime in America and we still deal with this. How many cops have to die? How many innocent people have to be killed by guns? No other country in the world has this problem.
It's insane that you could not see that the person was insane and had been in trouble with the cops multiple times yet he was free to go and not put in a padded cell which eventually resulted in the death of his mother father and himself ironically the ladder being at the hands of the officers the gun is not to blame you idiot it is the people
