We install a 2500hp Viper 11 fighter jet engine on Monstermax and test it's power in the Utah backcountry with @HeavyDSparks but unfortunately the truck has other plans for us. Spend your tax refund here: www.spendyourrefund.com
Yes I know the truck has issues, yes I know it struggles to get through 5ft of snow. These things are all part of something that has never been built or done before and all part of the wild ride that creates this whole channel. If everything worked perfectly the first time we wouldn’t need smart creative people ;)
as a Frenchman, I can tell you that I have never seen anything more American than that. one of the largest monstertrucks with two diesel engines and a fighter jet engine decorated with missiles towed by a monstertruck school bus with 4 gigantic caterpillars decorated with an American flag Well done.
@@Viklamationyou are delusional, buddy is wealthy. His kids will most likely be rich. Your comment, my comment alll goes towards his analytics which = paychecks
For all of the time I’ve been watching Cody make vids, (since maybe like 4 years ago) NO ONE has been able to make videos as good as he does. Keep up the good work, and most importantly, keep doing what you do best!
Man just the production cost and management staff and the machinery AND THE HARD WORK used in making these videos (OR RATHER MASTERPIECES) for us . HATS OFF FOR YOU MAN❤❤❤
The jet won't even push it . This truck wouldn't even go through the snow like that ranger on 48s. He makes the stupidest click bait vidios for children.
As an aircraft mechanic this is something i've thought about so many times and always wanted to do. This is awesome. You should ge a T64 GE from an old MH-53. They put out 3,485 shaft horsepower each
@@Buynscrachoffuntilwintheloteryyeah youre right jeff bezos has like 8 monstermaxxes and they all have TWO jet engines! So yeah, its basically only money that allows this to happen.
@@Buynscrachoffuntilwinthelotery WD was some kid in a flyover state living a modest existence. It was his crazy ideas and massive dreams that got him the money to begin with.
@@bflorida3 Well . . . . . money and a severe lack of maturity and common sense. Bezos has all three and this guy, well . . . . . he obviously has lots of money and he seems to have fun.
should see how much it improves the towing capabilities in another vid. tug wars between trucks or sum but obv without the other being driven for safety reasons… or better yet, strap it to one of the hiluxes
I’m just writing this here hoping he sees it, but WD your tires were spinning way too much to be able to grab enough snow to move your weight, you need paddles for tread on that beast not nearly bald ones haha
In deep soft snow, there are very few vehicles with tires that will make it. The weight of this truck is just too much. But oh man, the bad ass factor is off the scale. When you are building/fixing/testing/driving the learning curve is brutal. Nothing a jet engine with a huge afterburner flame trail can't fix. Unreal video Cody, congratulations to you and props to your crew for all the hard work!
@@Heyitsallgoodman well as long as it can reach hard snow underneath. otherwise you'll need something with enough area that it stays on top like a snowmobile. they could install some tank tracks on it i suppose. like 3 meter wide tracks. or use the jet engine to blow and melt the snow. can't see what would go wrong with that.
Yes i have allot of offroad on road, and rubber tires even that size no match for the snow... , But how so fun to see what that thing can do with the help of the Jet.. Soopa Cool !!!!!!!!!!
Cody’s small advice had about 16 minutes into the video is the most serious thing I’ve heard him say in a long time and it was very smart looking at things. he is 100% correct somebody with 1000 ideas that executed only one of them is going to be a lot farther along than someone with 1 million ideas that’s executed none of them. nice words of wisdom from Cody. Thanks a lot Man love your videos.
Fantastic video! That truck is absolutely amazing in every way.. But it’s the 15:40 mark that hit home.. A lot of sarcasm and jokes on this channel which I love. But the pure honesty and what I believe to be the down to earth Cody starts at 15:40. That hit hard..
The “inside” info about the complications of building something like this was the best part of this video. I think people take development for granted, and just assume everything works immediately.
Complications? Dude just wings it. Basically throws shit against the wall an sees what sticks. You can tell that by how he just throws caution to the wind, breaks it all....doesnt fix it all the way, so it can break again, still doesnt fix it all the way...and it breaks again.
@@Havok135 do you realize all the buisiness is it to run this channel right? let alone all the scheduling and logistics behind it , let alone the money involved .. time is an issue
@@TheTrooperMBpeople never think about stuff like that… especially looking at someone like cleetus… it took him years to get where he’s at today with a dialed in race team… but sometimes the lack of time works out.. if you save stuff for the future you can make more videos and in return entertain us for free .
facts, well said. I can handle some serious talk in the vids. His content is great. Also, not related but it seems like his eyes are getting better for him to be out in that snow with no glasses on. 💪 Wonder if his opinion towards lasik surgery might ease up? Idk...
@@Havok135you mean he provides well thought out entertaining content for his fans while showing very little of the real behind the scenes stuff because this is a show and whistlindiesel is a character? Same bud. Same.
All these youtubers get along so well but anybody else ever get the feeling Cleetus isn't a big fan of WD? Every video they're in together gives me those vibes.
Super cool! Got a friend with a Monster Fire Truck with a Jet Engine in it. Kids love to ride that! You should come out to one of my Monster Truck events and bring your truck.
As a USAF crew chief I will donate you a f35 engine for our boy monster max Edit- WD I’ll fly a 35 to you and we can take it apart and build it into monster max😂
We've had a house in MI forever. "Stock" trucks are good for about 8" of snow on the road. We go to an offroad event every year that has about 1 to 2 foot of snow. This year there was an honest 2 foot and we run lockers and beadlocks with 37s on 17s. It takes a significant effort to go anywhere. It's cold as hell and everything runs and works different, even the fuel is different. With those shifts maybe it's trans temp and you just need to get them cooled better in TN? Maybe the heat is causing electrical issues? Sometimes when you extend the length of data "wires" you need to compensate for voltage drop. Good luck, what a project!!!
My 2014 F250 Powerstroke does just fine in -25 degree weather and starts without a block heater. It’s been through 14” of snow no problem.. stick size a/t tires.
I really appreciate Cody’s pep talk about being creative and putting ur ideas into real life. His journey with monstermax is extremely impressive how an idea turned into an insane project and how he’s constantly improving and evolving the functions of monstermax. I also appreciate how a 21 minute video could probably be days for Cody and his crew to put together and all the money he’s spent on the production of his videos! Keep it up Cody!
WD is living every man's childhood dream! And he's brought us along to live vicariously through him. You're awesome brother, love your no shits given spirit despite all the haters.
As someone who actually works on “jet engines”/ gas turbines I absolutely loved this. We joke about putting one of these on our cars at work at least once as week
I'm sure you've seen it, but Jay Leno has a pretty cool jet engine driven car. I wanna say it was built by Chrysler, but I can't remember for sure.. It also only uses the mechanical energy from rotation instead of pure thrust
I know it’s not actually whistling diesel! but someone who looks exactly like him and had an American flag on their black T-shirt arm rang my doorbell today around 5 pm. I was in the in shower but when I checked my nest camera later I was extremely confused. I keep telling myself it’s not him then I look at the screenshot I took and I’m so confused. If it was him I am so sorry for missing your doorbell ring and I hope you come back, but if it wasn’t at least he’s got a doppelgänger here in Florida.
You didn't need to explain the part about it not being the end of this truck. I knew as soon as you guys tested this thing you'd be right back in the lab figuring out what went wrong and fixing it and enhancing it immediately. You guys are wizards with engines. Its awesome.
Man this dude really makes interesting content lol and makes me laugh lmao, now I feel like I want to ask a request while Super Bowl 58 goes on as of this comment. I saw that funny Powerful Toyota Tacoma Ad during an ad break and it showed the new hold on handle during rough ride. During your durability tests on other cars you usually test the interior stuff along with the handles. And if you get that type of Tacoma, I dare you to do a durability test on that handle to see if the ad is true and can hold up to whatever name you call it!
Radiographer here, settings on survey meter/counter is showing x1 on 0.5 mr/hr. Your fine. Switch it to x10 to get a better reading since its maxing out. Its fun when you have a x100 scale and it pings all the way lol cobalt 60 or IR 192 does that for what we do. Stay safe keep on rocking!
You should do twin zz632 with twin turbos on both of them. Get like 2500 hp per engine with about 1300 flbs per engine. Monster max would officially be a monster. And sound like one
You know I thank you for this comment. Sometimes I start feeling rentment for the fact that there is so many youtubers just blowing my whole yearly salary on a single video lately, sometimes completely wastefully. But I like this perspective, like at least someone gets to have this sort of fun, and at least theyre showing it to us for free.
Tbh the super duals need to come back. Bro just imagine that thing gliding over the snow and just starting a full on blizzard behind it. Tracks would be cool to.
its a turbine meaning that it takes air in so that it can thrust it out again. It's just sucking the smoke in like a fan would, not necessarily "low pressure"
@@bucketman5138how do you think fans suck and blow air? It’s low pressure on one side and high pressure on the other. That’s how a propeller or helicopter blades work too. Anytime you’re pushing air it’s due to a pressure ratio
there is an easy fix for proper air intake and it is as the following : try to put right and left pipe on each side of the car and both of them are connected in one main pipe to deliver the air into the inlet of the engine intake, like F 15 but with one engine. that should make diffrence.
Hi Jake!! I've been a huge fan of yours since quite nearly the very beginning. It's been amazing watching you grow over the past two years! I hope you see this somehow. I love your song btw, hamsters gotta ball, rip hampter. Have a wonderful day sir!
A lot of RU-vidrs would blow over or not post all the little issues with their projects. Not here though, Cody goes over the issues and the teething problems of such a massive and incredibly complex build, and for that I am incredibly grateful. The saying of practice what you preach is often thrown around but Cody lives by that and here you can see he lives by what he says, constantly pushing the envelope and encouraging others to do so to. This channel is not a “look at my cool shit” channel like many others, it’s an example of what can be accomplished when you constantly strive to make something of yourself and stay positive on the journey. No sulking that stuff breaks, no bullshit, just getting out there and testing theory’s and continuing to solve problems.
I’m sure two P&W F135 Low Bypass Afterburning Turbofan engines will power this thing easily! They’re pretty long engines though, and slightly unreliable and weigh about 10k lbs each but very efficient in terms of fuel! No 100% confirmed pounds of thrust output but I can guarantee it’s AT LEAST 40,000 pounds of thrust. The only problem is not acquiring just 1, but acquiring 2! I am an F35 crew chief btw, thanks for making Indiana look good!!
Heavy D entrance was superb. Man just when I thought MMII couldn’t get any better you came up with this! Freaking insane! The bus pulling MMII was such a sight to see.
@@discoverymoi I’m pretty sure he does, I know him Roman and Cleetus just completed a week long heli class together. But I remember Roman coming in and landing at the event they all were at and he was the only one with the black hawk I remember in his Snapchat videos it was parked just like that sunk into the snow the only heli present other than Roman’s was the red one
Wow, im really impressed. I never tought you would actually fit the engine, and just tease it like you did in some earlier video. Loved watching this and also the others you were with
January 15-18 my coworkers and I (we’re framing carpenters) were driving through Logan Canyon in Utah that starts in Logan, Utah and ends in Garden City, Utah to finish framing a house in Garden City and when we were near Beaver Creek Lodge (they rent snowmobiles, horseback riding, side by sides, at a and lodging) we saw this bus jacked up and on tracks as well as Monster Max and one of my coworkers said “that’s Whistlin Diesel” and I was like no freakin way! I’ve seen some of his videos before but never expected to see any of his setup in real life! As someone who’s lived in Cache County for most of my life I never thought someone prominent like Cody would even know about this small somewhat rural place let alone come here for a video and then to hear about his near death experience snowmobiling, WOW! I wonder how he knew about this place. On January 17 we were driving to work and we stopped on the highway and got a picture or two. I was excited when this video came out!
7 million subs , dude you rock ,lol..I’m a paralyzed army vet, and my dream would be to drive in that, it would be so cool..love ya channel..great video..
This was AWESOME ! I really appreciate all of the information regarding what you are trying and what is failing. It's just fun to learn and be a part of the adventure - Thank you !!!
Possibly could be achieved with the current design based on the number of shocks per corner based on the maximum pressure per shock. Example, (with a separate stabilization platform) with a 4 shock design, 2 shocks would be monitoring downward pressures where the other 2 would be monitoring upward pressures and working together would provide better stability. We put a man on the moon, nothing is impossible.
