hi everyone and thanks for tuning in....this is not a full depth review it's just a quick showoff and setup of the tent etc I did this because there is no updated Mont tent videos out there ATM so please leave me a like.....I got this tent from paddy pallins it's lightweight and perfect for solo hikers in Tasmania my mate Nathan highly recommended it as I was using a shitty Denali anaconda tent at the time...I'm happy now I did my research and shopped around, I even went into mountain creek outdoors and put my hiking bag and Nemo pad in the demo setup upstairs to see if it was a perfect fit and yes it's plenty head room bag etc works fine...now I didn't talk about the cords on each end of the tent sorry, they are only pegged out if it's raining to keep the fly off the inner or so etc
I'm not getting a footprint I'm going to get those lightweight xlite sheet stuff at $8 a Meter and if I wreck that I'm not out a $80 footprint letalone a $650 tent ⛺
so please leave me a like and subscribe if you are not because it's free and you will have great content to watch....plenty of content coming in the next few days so stay tuned 👍🍺😉
RU-vid fair use
I do not own the music full credit goes to bonobo
I'm not making music from this why am I getting flagged for copyright FFS 🤬 😤

Thanks for the review! How you finding it now? Enough room for your stuff in tent next to you? Strong enough for wind? Also, did you end up doing a footprint, does it need it with the 40D? Cheers!

@@grantricker8001 thanks for the comment mate, yes it's been a great tent since this upload I've taken it into cold.places had a bit of condensation because I didn't leave the window open on my down quilt but it has been in great shape, it has just enough room to put you pack at your feet or by your side it's a bit cramped but it's a great tent overall, I didn't use a footprint I brought some tyvec and carry that with me because the floor is rated at 25,000 it's a strong floor but I just use the tyvec to keep it from the cold ground esp here in Tassie, I was last using it up in central plateau and the wind was around 25-30kmh and it held up well so yes definately a bloody good investment I can't see anything else better than a light tent and solo and so easy to use aswell it's a bloody good tent ⛺👍💪

@@TasHikingAdventures thanks mate. Sounds great - toying between the 1P and just going the dragonfly for a full robust option with the ability to go with a mate or wife. 1.525kg vs 2.650. I know you said you have the Zeus for that, but dragonfly has the huge fly windows and double vents on roof.
@TasHikingAdventures
@TasHikingAdventures 10 дней назад
@@grantricker8001 yeah weight is always key, it's what suits you mate, I can take this in the rain and snow the open mesh tents get draft and it's not a suitable.tent for Tassie hiking esp in winter that's if your here in Tassie esp down south where I am, the turnoff about the dragonfly is the top fly doesn't come all the way down the back it was a turnoff for me, the floor rating is so low you'll prob get drenched on the floor and come.through inside the tent not like months floor rating and material, go and sit in them at your local hiking shops display get the feel of it whatever suits you go for that, my moht has served me well so far ;) my wife only comes to huts with me or in the Zeus, hiking or camping, I just brought a new rv3 for us and camping but that's another topic, I support local businesses before big company businesses so go with whatever is around your area, I'm around Hobart so we have find your feet and mountain creek outdoors and then paddy pallin so go with what's about mate but I'm.lovingbitbas a solo hiker for me but of there's a hut around I'm first in esp with a fire place/heater box inside 😆👍💪

Some Exped from Switzerland design features which look stylish. The other Australian designer, Wilderness Equipment, do a similar tent for 4 season. It looks more basic (rugged) but may be stronger in wind.
@TasHikingAdventures
@TasHikingAdventures 2 года назад
I doubt it lol....we have mad winds here in Tassie and if someone is trying to mock up this tent which is a 4 season alpine tent then it's a dud....the tie notes at the end are for wind resistance I haven't used it yet but my mate did the southern ranges and it held up in over 20-30 km not winds....was a shit night he said but it still held up....

Good review video thanks. I am planning to get one of these. Main reason for choosing this tent is that it comes in red (haha, no just joking but that is an advantage). Do you get much condensation in this tent? I have two other hiking tents - one is a 4 season 1P hilleberg soulo and it weighs a lot (almost 3kg!!!!!) and it has a lot of condensation. My other tent is a mountain designs redline 2P mesh tent - looked vvery similar to the mont tent design.

@VenkateshPattamatta
@VenkateshPattamatta 2 года назад
@@TasHikingAdventures Ah cool! Tyvek is the footprint right? gonna buy one if its lightweight haha. Also I have a 1.7kg 2 person Tunnel tent and wanted to buy a Free standing one which is lighter than 1.7kg. So looking into Alto TR1 and Moondance 1p. Alto TR1 + Footprint comes to 1.35kg and Moondance 1p itself is 1.5kg, so weighing my options now. The fly fabric for both these tents is almost the same and Moondance has more space inside than TR1. A little bit in a dilemma between these 2 tents

@@VenkateshPattamatta tyvec is paper that's used in building houses it's better than a tarp it's better than a $100 footprint It costs $8 per half a Meter it's white and it weighs nothing like art craft paper Folds up and is hell light don't get a footprint that weighs more And costs more cause if it does Rip there goes $100 not $25-30....and it's lighter and better tyvec just google it you'll see it's white on a roll....the Mont is awesome if your here in Tas south or west or cradle mountain etc it's a 4 season tent....don't be a weight freak how do you think soldiers get through kapooka training outing there weight on there own back lol Just get what you feel is better go inside shops that have tents setup go in there with your backpack and sleeping pad etc that's what I did then as soon as I decided and went out I was happy....just don't rush into buying expensive gear research it first reviews etc Mont is awesome I have Mont Moondance 1p full nylon and the sleeping bag it's awesome for cold weather here in Tassie mate

What is the point of those guylines hanging from the top and bottom sides? If there is a need for extra securing against wind, wouldn't it make sense to have them on the taller/wider sides on the left and right?
