Monta makes a great watch for the money. I suggest buying it pre owned because their value retention is absolutely horrible. Lucky if not get half of retail even for a new piece.
The large "MONTA" text at the top and the "GMT-150 m" text below always bothered me on this model. The "m" is hanging too far out on the right, and the spacing is inconsistent with the minimal spacing in "GMT-150". I'm all for fewer lines of text, but it seems strange to list the water resistance rating next to "GMT", and to link these with a hyphen. They improved this on the Monta Noble, but I wish they would go back and update the Atlas since it is otherwise a very cool watch.
Monta makes super-nice watches that get more refined with each iteration. As an owner of both, I'd say you're getting approximately 80% of Rolex quality for 20% of the price.
Interesting though that the GMT hand can be adjusted without stopping the seconds. This is a very compelling piece. Perhaps the best one watch choice out there (for me anyway)....I'm looking down at my (expensive ) Explorer 39 and thinking, am I dopey or what? Hmmm....
really liked this watch during it's first release. After the price increases by Monta and after forex, it's bit more expensive than a Longines Zulu time which is my current favorite.
I wish they made a True Black version of the Atlas. And a traveler's GMT would be nice. But Monta does such a great job with refinement. And that GMT hand is a really nice touch.
