"Organ Session" is based on the MONTAGE version of the same name. Sorry, I have to correct a mistake: There are only 10 newly programmed MONTAGE M Performances using the new Waypoint features. I confused it with Live Organ
I think many of us expected Yamaha to bring a dedicated organ engine (like on th YC) to the new Montage, very unfortunately they did not. I think the organs of the Montage is just meh. I honestly like the Nord organ-engine better.....
I think these organ sounds are about as good as anyone can get, even by adding new waveforms. Sample based organs, even Nords, still have a particular sound compared to modeled B3 tones. At least the Montage rotary fx are getting better little by little, though still not Neo-Vent caliber.
@@theclaverman, oops, I did not know that! I do like the Nord B3 sound better than Yamaha or Roland models. I have an old Roland VK8m module that is not bad, but pales in comparison to newer modeled organs.
the organs was clearly not the biggest focus. They have the YC with real Waterfall keys. They didn't even bother adding a 9'th fader, even they did make the "reverse fader" settings. The Montage M is focused on AWM2, FMX and the new ANX for synth sounds. I do think they sound fine, if you just need an organ sound here and there. The leslie effect is what is keeping them up. I honestly was impressed when they releases the 2.0 update of the YC61. It was like a new instrument. Still not the best clonewheel, but it made it a real contenter to the other great clones out there. I am curious if they will finally fix the horrible leslie and vibrato effects that has Plagued their arrangers for more than 3 decades with the upcomming Genos 2. If its versatility in good samples and phat sounding Synth sounds people want the "M" series is definetly much more than just a "Refresh" of the original Montage. This is not made to take up the fight with specific "Clone Wheels" like Viscount, Crumar or Hammond. It's merely made to give you a reasonable Organ sound that don't fall totally apart when comparing it to a Nord Stage/Piano. Even nothing special has been updated on the Nords for many years, It's still the better organ of these two. The nord cuts thru, but is getting a bit long in the tooth compared to the best clonewheels of today. And Roland .. meh. they never sounded really good.
