This has gotta be my favorite POV of any coaster, ever. The way the train whips around the track is just insane - the block brake after the first big drop seemed to do nothing at all, the train just coasted right over the second lift hill at jhigh speed, and you can almost feel the airtime in the section after the loops. Brilliant! Wish I had been old and wise enough to ride it when it was still operating on the fairground circuit in Germany...
It's still at Oktoberfest every year. It is called "Olympia Looping". Funnily enough they are the same ride. But I can't figure out when and who made this rollercoaster in Mexico.
Damn....I am about 2 hours south of this beast....from Terre Haute, Indiana....cannot freaking wait....wow....thank you Gene Staples for all that you do. Dj Tommy Walker, 102.7 FM Terre Haute, Indiana
God I miss this ride so much - I would love to see it back on the German fairs, running 5 trains at once. It's still my favourite coaster of all time, Schwarzkopf was absolutely unbeatable.
Watching this great vid so makes me to want re-ride the old Dreier Looping. I still remember this from when it was on the German carnivals. The first drop is unique and was later used as inspiration for another great coaster: On the Olympia Looping the drop leads right into the first loop.
Today, September 28 in that same attraction there was an accident 2 people died and 5 more are injured, who would say that in an area where you are, an accident can occur Greetings bro your videos are good
The restraints were annoying, I guess, but they didn't detract from the ride at all. These restraints were also on the ride when it was at Flamingoland in the UK when I rode it in 2002. I don't understand why you're complaining about it. The coaster was awesome!
They demolished the entire park in Mexico because the last wagon derailed in the third loop, projecting the crew 10 meters high, it was investigated and the cause was because the game was not in a condition to operate safely and even they opened it
This was once "Magnum force" at Flamingoland North Yorkshire. The over the shoulder restraints were brutal and the ride in the rear cars were very rough too.
Not in the same way, but the coaster did have more trill and crazynes in them, than that B&M's have. Schwarzkopf rollercoaster whent most of the time to a Fear, they ar still traveling in Europe. You need to look at the site of them: schwarzkopf-coaster.net/hauptmenueGF.htm here you can see what thay did for the evolution of rollercoasters. #myenglishisbad!
The top trunnion pivot bolts on the upstop runner which is the lowest stress point of the bogie assembly were overtorqued unlike the mindbender where it was the complete opposite to the point of the looseness which caused the fatigue-induced failure.
This and other vids from TPR will have me visit your city in the coming years. Not only for coasters - but having a park with TWO Schwarzkopf coasters in one park is an immediate winner!
You know, if it wasn't for Theme Park Review, I wouldn't know that there exist a sizeable collection of neat roller coasters in Mexico. So for that, I thank you!
EXCUSE LA MEDUSA AND THE SUPERMAN ROALLER COASTER ARE IN SIX FLAGGS MEXICO A USA ENTERPRISE IN OTHER WORDS THAT PARK IS MORE EXPENSIVE AND HAVE ANOTHER THEMATIC.
I rode this two years ago and would have rode it more had it not been for the straight jacket restraint system. To me it was a HUGE PAIN getting in and getting out, adjusting all the buckles etc. Mindbender in Georgia has only lap bars, right ? Doesn't Shock- wave in Arlington have only lap bars too ? For the longest time TIG'R at Indiana Beach had only a lap bar but just recently added seatbelts. Thankfully not the straight jacket ones seen in this video. Would Anton want these restraints?
Two people just died on this ride today and two badly injured when the last car derailed. Coaster designer, Anton Schwarzkopf needs to give us some answers.
this park had all of the swartzkpof coasters from flamingo land now they have the bullet as well there is only a couple of swartzkpof coasters in Britain now
You're confusing this park, La Feria Chapultapec Magico, with Selva Magica, where Bullet is now located. They're completely separate parks and are like a 6 hour drive from each other.
The Mindbender in Galaxy Land in edminton Alberta Canada is pretty much the EXACT same design as this model. Except for the lift hill is left turning instead of right turning. I know cause I lived in Edminton for many many years and I cant count hou many times I been to Galaxy land though lol ;-)
Inoperative trim brakes meant this ride was operating faster than intended, that combined with lack of visual and otherwise inspection of the bogeys fixings which where obscure by design, time consuming to check and therefore overlooked led to this accident, just as it did on the mindbender. The mindbender was updated to make this process easier to inspect and had extra added safety features. but it is still no excuse to have been omitted from being checked on either ride. This ride ran at flamingo land UK for five or more years without issue before being bought and moved to this park, it was then renovated before being rebuilt, and probably was not checked since. The park, ride mechanics and safety inspector should be prosecuted for manslaughter.
It's a massive shame. The ride looks like so much fun without the trims, but was indeed very dangerous and the park was completely at fault for the accident. I heard the ride originally three trains when it arrived in Mexico but the park took them apart and used all of the parts to create a singular train. It's nice to see Indiana Beach buy the ride now, but we'll sadly never see a Schwarzkopf run this fast again.
QEPD
tpr, you wouldn't happen to know why Magnum Force was taken out/moved from Flamingo Land (would you)? I only got to ride it once and that was about 10 years ago =( . bring it back home!
they have evidently been running the second half of the ride much too fast. The ride still works if the block brakes at 0:55 and 1:12 completely stop the train - it's passing through there with .. 20mph?
