Nice story Tim. I heard about an very similar thing on a Facebook watch forum and unfortunately the guy fell for it and lost his watch to a fraud and in return got garbage watch. Tragic.

List both watches on ebay when there are £1 fees, buy each others at the same price, simple, works a treat!

I recently got caught up in a Bait and Switch scam from China. Thankfully it wasn't for a lot of money and Visa will more than likely cover me. When it comes to my watches I'm extra careful. Best way to swap especially luxury watches, meet at a local jeweler and they can verify authenticity and less of chance of being robbed

This is why I simply change my tune on buying a watch. I now always buy it with the 100% certainty that I will always love it and always keep it. Never saw so many sheisters ever as in dealing with high-end items such as watches.

Tim, there is some mistake on your idea over the nationality of the caller, for example, I am Portuguese (never had made a fraud action in my life) but I live in the Netherlands so...if you would talk to me about a watch you wouldn't trust me because of my accent? Damn.... not fair
