Hey Mymusic.............you're a pretty bad-ass player yourself, Dude! I'm not up to your level yet but I was able to get it a little from this...........gonna take some work and repeat, repeat, repeat............wish you had slowed down it down just a little for the less experienced players (like me!) I'm gonna keep watching over and over til I get it!! Thanks! (I'm a 60 yr old lady from the 60's)
Hey man, I just saw Aaron Alanders videos. Woah, he is really good and i loved the way he explains monte's stuff. Super talented guy, to be sure. Thanks for the tip off to that guys channel. MMY1's are a lot of fun, but i still wish that i had a real DY62C fom the late 80's!!!!!! I just missed yet again another auction on Ebay containing the sacred guitar. lol. Thanks for watching.
I love this video!!!!! keep them coming..... my monte videos were all made to help a buddy and people started watching lol. i am no teacher..... i like yours better... very cool!
Yo, thanks for posting this. No one else put up a video taking the time to go through all these parts. But this should probably be a 15-18 minute lesson given all the material you're going over. I think only the advanced player will have the patience to stick with it, but I'm not so sure about others. Just trying to offer some constructive criticism. Also, playing the entire song once through would also be helpful for giving the student context for the detailed parts of it.
Thanks gary. i think that your videos are awesome and i totaly have learned tons from them, you re really good at explaining the parts that people want to learn. Not to mention you are just a beast on the guitar. As a friend of mine said to me, you should go to the electric chair for melting so many faces!!!!!! lol love your tutorials, i'd still love to see you do one on mirror!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, this is great! If you haven't seen the Monte guitar solo tutorials by AaronAlander, I suggest you check them out ASAP. You can find them all on my channel under Guitar Lessons. And I still want an MMY1!
lololol..that's without a doubt "NOT" a guitar lesson..that's just doing a horrible version of this song...if someone was playing guitar for..let's say 3 maybe 4 months..they would go...WTF was that?..and I've been playing for over 50 years..and I have to agree..WTF was that????? and the thing is..you are a decent guitar player..just not a teacher..next time..slow it down..note for note..and explain it...don't go..the walk down is like "can't you see" what if they don't know that song..or the walkdown..that was YOU trying to impress ..SOMEONE?? I don't know who?..but that was garbage
That's a little harsh, but basically I agree. It's certainly not for the beginner guitarist, so maybe that's what should've been said up front. But even for me, I'll probably just copy and paste it onto youtubeslow and then pick it apart. On the flip side, I'd rather have this than some guy going at a snails pace. To me, that's worse. The only other tangible suggestion I would make is to run through the entire song once through in the beginning of the video so that the student has a framework in his/her head while he's blazing through each of these parts. LOL.
You don't know what you're talking about. I've been playing guitar for a pretty long time myself and this guy spells out how he's making a lot of those sounds. We could use some more instruction on the right hand I think, but overall this video is fantastic.
You're a dick .. the walk means a bassline walk and it was easy to understand It was a decent lesson and if you've been playing for 50 years and can't follow up with this ..you're garbage
