Awesome song by one of the most underrated guitarist of our time. He's really incredible live especially with this band. Keep a lookout for his son, whose is an amazing up and coming guitarist
I really like this. You can't argue with great entertainment and cool playing like this. Anyone who doesn't enjoy this probably also doesn't enjoy a lot of other fun things in life (grin!)
One of the most pleasing solos I’ve heard in years. It leaves you wanting much more of the same .must’ve made a Johnsonian deal with the devil.or God is using this man’s vessel to bring we montiacs proof of his benevolence. I prefer this latter explanation, personally.I find incomparable treasure in Monte’sWishing Well !!!!!
@jwlloyd76 Hey thanks for the names, you've just gone and expanded my listening sphere - some good stuff there. to give Monte his props tho. his Little Wing is probably one of the best versions there were has ever yet been
@direct3460 Oh, well, if he's on a list, I must be wrong. I have seen these lists of "Top Guitarists" and they are blindly biased towards rock, electric, blues and pop players. A "Best guitarists" list without Django Reinhardt, Paco de Lucia, Clarence White, Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, James Burton, Jerry Reed, Bryan Sutton, Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheny, Joe Pass, or a thousand other players is catering to a very narrow audience and is a sketchy reference at best.
@direct3460 These players defined and influenced guitar from there to eternity. Monte has chops, but it seems that he relies on chops more than sound to create his style. I'm not here to critique his playing, but I stand by my original comment: I find that his music all begins to sound the same after a few listens. Thank you for your input, tho.
