Getting up one side is hard enough but going down the other side is I think harder. Glad to see you "get over" when you saw that cop car. Lot of folks don't or won't. Jakes are a wonderful thing. That stretch of road will surely test them. Can't imagine coming off that hill with 80.000 pounds with little or no brakes and diving off into one of those sand pits. That would be a hell of a ride. I remember the first time I went off Monteagle I was just a kid in an army Convoy they said if our truck got away from us run into the one in front of you he would try to hold you back if not signal would be given for the one in front of him to slow down and so forth until we got it stopped I'm 80 years old now but I remember that like it was just last week or so the meeting before we headed off the hill and everything to prepare us all of our trucks except tractor and trailers and the Wreckers had automatic transmissions but I remember mine holding back pretty doggone good I remember a deuce and a half sitting on the side of the road with brake smoking waiting for the Wrecker
