I've only been to the Falmouth port once, we ventured on foot into town to explore & found it pretty intimidating so we went back to the Margaritaville close to the ship & lounged around by the floating bar.
Haha yeah I don't think I would've ventured very far if I wasn't doing an excursion. Margaritavilles are always fun though! You can't beat a good ole fashioned lazy river
It was probably a total of an hour or an hour and fifteen minutes. It wasnt long at all. Just enough time for a round or two of drinks and to walk around to see what it would've been like if we went during a crowded time. :P
Thanks Emotion! Appreciate you commenting, it was a beautiful island! They would be lucky to have you playing some amazing tunes on the beach while you were there!
Yes they opened around 10:30 am if my memory serves me correctly, they were opening everything while we were there, and some people were utilizing it before we left.
Thank you!!! I didn't time it to be honest but it seemed around exactly two hours. In my opinion, for Jamaica it was the perfect amount of time to enjoy this small beach and not get tired of it. There were local vendors at this beach too offering everything you might be looking for while in Jamaica but they weren't soliciting and were rather hanging out in the shade at the picnic tables. It was a very warm and inviting beach but it was an additional charge on top of the excursion through Royal Caribbean. I would say if you are someone who likes to do tours through Royal Caribbean for the peace of mind, this is the best bang for your buck. If you're more adventurous and want to rent a car/ do 3rd party tour you may be able to find a better beach with amenities. Thank you so much for stopping by and joining the Ohana!
A number of these places including Margaritaville and Coral Cliff (which is directly across the street from Margaritaville) do not allow for individual tipping. They suggest the tips be given at the cashier, which goes into a tip pool and divided equally among the workers, either at the end of the day or the end of the work week on payday. Years ago, at a club in Montego Bay, a bartender told me, he would get fired if I tip him and he does not put it in the tip pool. The laughable part is, the guy was bent on getting his individual tip; he suggested I hold the tip until he takes his bathroom break. 🤣🤣.
Hahaha yeah they have some weird way of doing things down there and the people can be quite interesting! Love it. :) thanks for watching and commenting, we appreciate having you here!
That is so funny about 150 cause I def wore shorts on Allure and no one said a word. I remember cause I did not like that restaurant and could not wait to leave...lol Jamaica looks awesome but hot. Haiti was sooo hot we actually went back to the ship cause it was no fun. So how do you know about 70s night?? We had one on my recent Allure cruise alson with an all White night and I had no idea about either...just wondering. Doing Alaska next spring on Ovation...never been on quantum class so hope I like it cause I love Oasis Class.....😊😊
I always look at cruise compasses from past sailings online to get an idea of what the theme nights are and what nights I want to make my dinner reservations! And omg “the pants” I know… how funny!!!
We are taking this cruise in January. What do you recommend for things to do in Jamaica? Are there things to do close by or do you recommend booking an excursion? Do you recommend having Jamaican dollars for shopping?
I have only been to Jamaica three times and all three times I did excursions. And I would definitely recommend booking something either through royal or viator. Dunns river falls is great if you are the adventurous type and have older children, there’s also a cool rafting experience on a bamboo raft , trev n chels did it on their channel :) Most shops and restaurants take usd as far as I could tell, but I just use my credit card for anything at the real stores.
@@shawniefeliciano I think it depends on the 7 year old. If they love adventure and water yes but if they’re more on the scared, timid side around water and new situations you might be better off with a more low key tour :) the last time I did Dunns River I was probably 12 or 13 and had an amazing time.
Yes however the water activities didn’t open at margaritaville until about half an hour/hour before we were about to leave so we didn’t have much time built in to enjoy it. Either way the experience was worth the cost considering how much taxi travel alone would’ve cost :)
Hi! Great video! I’m doing wonder of the seas on february 2023 and it will stop at Falmouth so i was actually checking this excursion but i was wondering if it includes the beach club entry or not? The royal caribbean website says it’s 20 dollars for all but i’m sus😅
Ahhhh the classic royal caribbean fine print. So you do have to pay a set charge per person to get in. And I can't remember if it was $20 or something like $14 a person for adults. It was still worth the money to get away from the overly crowded nearby beaches and get a pretty local experience. As my tour guide Kenneth told me when we got there though, the people at the gate determine the price for entry; meaning if it was a baby they would be free and children would be a discounted rate compared to the full price adult admission. Entry was a little sus as you put it but dont let that deter you. The excursion was solid for the price point and I dont think you're gonna find much better one in Falmouth without spending an arm and a leg. Have an amazing cruise!
@@OhanaVlog thank you so much! It’s good to know and i also think it’s worth it! Pd: I never thought you would answer so fast🤩 have a great new year and i’m binge watching your vlogs! Great job😊
@@bl00dfer I get notifications when Ohana post 🤙 thank you so much I’m about to head out to my event for the night rn! I hope your new years is amazing is well! 🕊️☮️💚
@@OhanaVlog Hey there! I really enjoyed your videos! I love cruising on RC as well. I am going on the Harmony in a few weeks and have this excursion booked! Was it really $14 per person to get into the beach? I saw on another site it was $5 to get in but that was posted a few years ago so I don't know how much prices have gone up, but I'd love to get a good idea of how much to realistically expect to pay. I kind of wish RC would post the entrance fee on their site so we don't have to guess!
Hi there! Here’s the link to the beach without the excursion through royal Caribbean. I didn’t eat any food but I saw some people eating so I’m sure they got it somewhere nearby. Thanks for commenting 😊 www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g147311-d14982402-Reviews-Tropical_Bliss_Beach-Montego_Bay_Saint_James_Parish_Jamaica.html
Everything that’s seen in the video is the tour! It was an amazing one led by a great tour guide, I had only one complaint and that was that the price of the beach was a little steep, but it did include beach chairs for us which usually is a separate fee so it definitely worked out in the end! 10/10 would recommend this tour for the value, I’m sure there’s better tours out there but at the price point it can’t be beaten…
Ohana, about how long did you actually get to spend at the beach itself? Been to Jamaica a few times but long ago. We just want a legit all day beach day in MoBay..preferably Dr Caves. We port in Falmouth from RC.is this excursion worth it..? Did you get to actually wander off on the strip or just the rip off store? 😂
Thank you. Yes but It's a little out of my price range right now. So I'm going to give it a year, I think some of the less popular weeks will start dropping in price.
@@OhanaVlog Have a family reunion so we manage to get three rooms for the Mar 2024 sailing. I definitely think it will also help get some subs and views to your channel so would be a win/win for you 👍.
I think because it was broken up into a couple parts it was hard to tell but probably a cumulative hour fifteen in the bus before getting to the beach but there was the other stop as well!
