Montessori are a garage rock band who incorporate elements of surf, grunge and punk. They formed in the summer of 2021. Weekly jams followed, driven by the need to play music in a group after a year of lockdowns.
With lyrics inspired by local fast-food restaurants and Mark E. Smith interviews, they hope to one day transition into a Wesley Willis cover band. Until then we are excited to present Montessori and the songs conceived during those initial jams.
Their first ever filmed performance is a Booley Session not to be missed.

The Booley Sessions are a series of short concert films curated and produced by The Black Gate in a stunning new space on Eglington Street in Galway city.
We are delighted to showcase the music of twelve exceptional Galway artists and are especially grateful to our neighbours at Booley for allowing us to record in their beautiful loft. At a time when the live music industry faces yet another deeply challenging period of restrictions and uncertainty, we hope that these concerts can provide a little bit of comfort and joy to you all.
Happy Christmas from everyone at The Black Gate 🎄
The Booley Sessions is funded through the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme II by Galway City Council and The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
