Approx 40 odd years ago we rented The wharfingers cottage on the Montgomery canal in Llanymynech a couple of years running when it was a holiday cottage let it was on the first section of the canal to be renovated it was next to the lock and a bridge way up behind the cottage was the site of what looked like the old railway marshalling yard your vlog brought back some happy memories ,i was hoping you would pass the cottage but you turned and went in the opposite direction direction maybe one day you might pass the cottage , many thanks for evoking my very happy memories Terence hammond
Hello Mr Hammond, is that the cottage above Carreghofa Locks? I’ve never been there either but I intend to walk that stretch from Llanymynech to the Vyrnwy Aqueduct soon. Thank you for your message. Brian.
Thank you for this video . I lived in Knockin village for a short time & explored the surrounding area . But never made it to Llanymynech I missed a gem . Very interesting I hope you do a follow-up video when the canal is restored its a beautiful location with an amazing history.😀👍
Thanks for the video, I make similar videos on old canals, I’ve just visited the area for the new bridge and will come back and cover this section at some point. Thanks for an informative video
