Your answer regarding cross training was very precise and complete. I think it’s so far the best discussion in English of this topic. I’m going to reference this video if someone asks me about cross training in internal styles.

I am falling in love with Xiu Dao 😊 and I partially lied when I said I wasn't interested in philosophy, the philosophy of Lao Tzu is simply amazing. In only 7 words "Heavy is the root of the light" he describe the most important rule in human personal development achievement. I get it now, the word energy manipulation is more appropriate for External Medicine, Internal Medicine is more about the state of mind and awareness level as a prerequisite of postnatal energy refinement process. So TCM is External Medicine, cultivating Qi is External Medicine and Tai Chi also. Xiu Dao is using the External Medicine to build up the Qi with which the awareness level can be raised to altered mind state for Internal Medicine practice. That is why Xiu Dao practice is focused on prenatal energy not in postnatal energy, External Medicine is prerequisite for Xiu Dao. I was intuitively right when I said that my walking is martial art and my dancing is Xiu Dao, but Internal Medicine is working fine also when walking 😇 Thank you master Yang to transfer and explaining the ancient knowledge👌 I am interested about integration of Shen in Xiu Dao practice, do you consider this as a prerequisite to postnatal energy refinement process or to become more a community (external) oriented person, which return the energy back to community trough his big hearth and knowledge. (oh yes, a big heart, I forgot how important it is for Internal Medicine ;)
