@@EileenAldis In the next Christmas you will make videos in other cities of Europe like those of last year or will you go to the USA? I will look forward to your response 😀 Thank you very much for putting subtitles in Spanish, it is very difficult to find someone to do it, I write to you in English just in case you don't understand Spanish easily
After my firtst divorce in '92, I went down to Paris for a few day''s , and came out in Montmartre.. (I didn't had any hotel or bed for the night.. I wentto Cafe '''Le Consulat'' After a few beers with owner Jacques Damme and his wife, they offer me an appartment, Rue Norvins, and cold stay yhere for how lonh i wanted, I'll stay there for 10 months !, The best time of my life, I met a woman who's her own cafe on Place de Tertre, 10 years ago, I get a message that i had a beautiful daughter overthere..... and since then we have contact, Love Paris, Montmartre, It''s a small village in a Big city... After that i'll never found another place like that, and had live everywhere on this Earth, and considder to go back forever....
I remember first hearing about Montmartre in my French class in high school. It sounded so awesome and I really wanted to go. I feel I finally made it!! Thanks for this really great video about this wonderful neighbourhood. I love it and maybe someday I'll visit too.
What the heck am I still sitting here for 🤷♀️. I would absolutely ❤ it there!!! 👩🎨🎨. You have such a lovely voice and are quite knowledgeable for these tours, Eileen! You should be working towards selling these vacation DVD destinations as Rick Steves. I Much prefer yours, sweetie!!! Thanks for the Awesome tour. Much love from me to you! 🙌💕
This makes my day, Gina! Thank youuu! I'd LOVE to have a travel show like Rick Steves! Sign me up! :) I'm sure you would love Montmartre...so charming! So happy you enjoyed this one too - I always love seeing your comments! 💕
Funny, but I don't even mind when you occasionally do a voice over episode like this. I suppose it's because you two always capture so much rich character your shots. Even your B Roll is charming. But here it was fun to hear and see so many historical facts. Always adore Toulouse-Lautrec. Some of your scenes remind me of Allen's Midnight in Paris movie :) Your episodes are never boring. Best, James and Kim
Iam SO EXCITED FOR OUR TRIP! These videos are amazing and so professional idk how u get some of those shots. Thanks a lot for sharing! I’m interested in knowing how long it took you to do all these things. We may need more time!lol
Really interesting video, thanks. You always do a great job with the narration in these, definitely makes me want to visit there. So many beautiful places to see and will keep you fit too with all those stairs, haha.
Thank you so much, Shaun! I really appreciate your lovely compliment and I'm so pleased you enjoyed this video. The stairs are definitely a built in work out haha. It seems they never end :P But so worth it for the incredible views!
Hermoso recordar y volver a ver esos lugares de París, por donde uno anduvo caminando por esas calles, respirando la cultura y el arte. No tuve idea que en ese lugar estaba la casa de Vicent Von Goh
Place du terte! I only know of these little nuggets of knowledge cos of your videos! There's a brand of art supplies named Montmarte. Never knew why but now I know! Thanks Eileen!
That is actually the most interesting part of Paris and I'd love to visit this place. idk which language is "Ick liebe dir" but it sounds german... but actually isn't. lol. maybe accent somewhere. The Sacre Coeur is an amazing building. Great informative vid!
We got busted by the ticket controllers on that funicular on our honeymoon. 🤣 We actually had tickets, so we thought. But what we actually purchased were just weekly supplements ... something like that ... for registered customers with a corresponding picture ID. Anyway after politely confessing our ignorance and best intentions, they did have mercy on us, and they told us how to get setup with the card + photo ID. Ah yes, ID pictures from the photo booth at a train station in Paris.... cue the music to Amalie.
haha YES I totally had the Amelie moment doing that too. Any excuse! Sounds like one of those stories that might've been annoying at the time but turned into a good travel memory. Glad they took pity on you honeymooners!
Eileen Aldis we were having such a lovely time that nothing could have dampened our spirits, and certainly not that. They were really nice about it, too. I also loved your video about places to eat in Paris. It reminded me of the wonderful dinner we had at Le Train Bleu, which was a wedding gift from our friends. Would have loved to have had your recommendations back then. ❤️
Montmarte is beautiful, but you have to watch out that you don't get ripped of by the Romanian maffia or the African strap sellers. Tourists are easy victims for them.
Sigh, your videos are invoking a need to go back to Paris!!! I lived behind Sacre Coeur for a spell. Love the walks around there... And the restaurants!
Thank you for posting such an enchanting view of Montmarte Eileen :) I've just subscribed your channel and look forward to watching your other travel vlogs - especially the rest of your Paris mini-series xxx
The portrait artists will hassle you to draw you and when you say how much they will say - whatever you're comfortable with So you offer 20 and get scowled at and then 50 and eventually you'll part with 100 for what was 20 minutes work for something that when you examine it back at base, probably isn't that good
I remember kids selling beers out of coolers they had dragged up the hill, onto the steps of the Sacred Heart church. 😅 Maybe the cops have cleaned it up a bit?
This is so informative and inspiring. I've been here 6 years ago and going back in 2 weeks. We'll be taking this tour and your video has given us so much perspective on what to expect. Thanks for sharing.
